By the time he's grown, it'll probably be 48V.

I build them all day everyday, so I know from experience it is exactly the same. Oh well.

I think I'm done selling stuff on CA.com Sold that alternator and the guy said he had to change the front of it. Um, no, it's a DIRECT BOLT ON. Same damn car, same damn alt. Obviously he had the wrong one on there to begin with. This is why I will never be in that business.

Funny thing is, the SI Magnum name does not come from the guns.

WTF....Need Help
And the price of the tensioner assembly and new belt will probably run the same as a new alt. Damn cars.

I can see some rules, but not all and not in their entirety. As far as competing goes, I'm pretty much with you as well. This will be a hybrid competition/daily install, but I just want to try it to see what all the buzz is about. i was thinking about competing in SQ, but I'm NOT a fan of the RTA, FLAT tunes, or the other BS. What sounds good to me, definately won't go over well with judges. RTA is only a small part of the process, and you don't even need to do it if you don't want to. The regular SQ judging portion requires a setup that's anything but flat...your score does depend somewhat on what judge you get and what they're looking for that day See, I'd get in an argument everytime though. You can't tell me my system doesn't sound good if I think it does. That's my only point. The SPL side is easy. The meter tells you who's louder. That part is simple. From my research so far, I'm leaning towards dbDrag, but I'd really like to talk to some longtime competitors in all bodies.

LOL!!! That's awesome! We'd probably still get in trouble - 'wouldn't want to tarnish any other company's pristine image with our filty subwoofer naming now would we? EFF em! Last time I checked, they're not even making the damn things anymore. Not exactly like you could confuse the two. Maybe if you cut the motor in half, switched to a paper frame, and, well, you get the point.

Whoops!
Current ones are MAGS, these should be NUMS.

I really don't care what the materials are. As long as it performs, and is cost-effective. I have yet to see a stamped basket that will allow the suspension for as much movement we have.

But then you'd be limited to the manufacturer's choice of drivers and specs. Just saying that ultimately, Adire will have the say on what parts are used according to what they have that will work for our application. If we HAVE the choice between rubber or foam and there's no differnece in price, then so be it. Just saying if we can get the same performance from half-price materials, why not use it?

We have some dBdrag stuff near. The MECA site is really bad and the rules are rather vague. You have to be a member to biew them and what is the point in becoming a member if I don't know the rules? I just want to see what all the fuss is about with having a system that hits xyz debeez.

Personally, I'd go with a stamped basket as well if it would allow. Cheaper, pricewise, is better for all of us in this instance.

I'm thinking of competing, but have no idea what sanctioning body or class. I know NOTHING of SPL. OR SQ. Or Car Audio atall for that matter.

Foam, it's cheaper and there are no durability issues with it what-so-ever. Many a high-end drivers use them. No problems with them. It can be designed and tooled easier for what we need it to do. My guess is they will use off-the-shelf parts anyways, so whatever they have that will give the desired results will be what we get. Dustcap, I like the boob too, but I'll leave that up to Adire as they know best with structural integrity. Logo is simply unnecessary. If you want a logo, get a sticker after you get the driver. That is another different set of tooling costs we simply don't need, and with this small amount of drivers being made, it will quickly drive the cost up.

But peeing in the snow is so much fun. Anyways, I now have heat. I don't know what the deal was. Heater core hoses were hot as well, no air bubbles, nothing frozen, coolant level is okay, cap is holding well. Who knows.

Welcome to the IHoP
What really sucks is going outside to work on it for 10 minutes, then having to come back in for 30 just to warm up. Even with 4 layers of clothing on, 3% body fat just isn't enough for me in this environment.

building the box for the 15
Cutout is listed as 14-1/8". This has been about 1/16" too large for me, but I am an anal bastard and I love a tight fit. If you can get it at 14-1/16" you'll be golden. Gonna be kinda hard if not using a precise cutting tool and jig, so just get close. Cutout diameter for the front should be between 15-1/2 and 15-5/8". The slight differences I've dealt with in gaskets will vary. Easiest thing to do is measure.

Fuck! It's 1 degree outside. I start my car, go outside to get in and notice the windows are still frosted over. No heat! Look and my fan has been shut off. Turn it on, no heat! WTF, the car's been running for 15 minutes and it heats up very quickly. So, I just get in and get on my way to work. 1/4 mile into my trip I can no longer function from freezing and this bitch is NOT heating up. Temp guage is in the middle, fan on high, nothing but COLD air. Turn around, go home to get the truck. Here's another 15 minutes I have to wait for this POS to warm up. Won't start. I'm already 15 minutes late to work and life is really sucking right now. Screw this. I'm calling in sick, even though I CANNOT afford it.

Having a problem porting my box
You could either do that, or build in the trunk. I don't know any other options you have. I know exactly what you're talking about as well. I had enough problems trying to fit a 3 cube sealed enclosure in my buddy's 99.
