  1. MY advice, keep it simple. Start basic and upgrade from there. Why complicate the system if you don't have to. I've found it easier to integrate new components based upon my NEEDS. If it doesn't NEED complexity, don't use it. Many times a simple 7 band eq will do the trick. You may need more, may not.
  2. I ran my solo 8s in .33 cubes each. The enclosure was just large enough to fit the driver and nothing more. The actual spacing between the pole vent and the wall was no more than 1/2", probably less, but I remember being worried about it. Never caused a problem. I beat the hell out of them with an A600 mono and they never once screamed. Our whole dilemma is depth, which seems to keep us from regular mounting the subs. My question is, do you think they'll sound good inverted? It seems like a lot of the sub's frame/magnet would block the soundwaves. It doesn't work like that. The omnidirectional waves don't act the same. Does downfiring a driver affect the "sound" of the bass when it's firing at a floor? I know your problem is depth, but do you just no have enough or do you, but you're worried about blocking the pole vent?
  3. Well, the small passive networks inside my two in-house test enclosures did not seem to effect it. The passives are actually in the enclosures themselves with standard 16 guage hookup wire running from them to the drivers. The distance is minimal, with the longest run probably being 4", but I was still able to tell a difference.
  4. Agreed. I have pretty much used everything available short of Raammat. I may use Dynamat if I can get it cheap, but I just stick with Second Skin. The performance is there, I don't have to search for what I need, and if any problems arise, ANT will take care of you.

  6. Finally got my car running decent. Replaced the IAC, ignition module, a new BRASS cap and rotor, and a couple rusted fuses. I still get a check engine light with a code for no tach signal to the ECM, but if that was the case, the car wouldn't run atall. HA.
  7. Crown! Great choice! White Spectrum. You have the original stuff there buddy.
  8. I'm going to get some ass.
  9. But how does the shape of the cone affect the waveform? I'm not understanding that.
  10. I'm in South Bend, about 1.5 hours aways from Chi-town. Wire already left my place though. It's on it's way to Brad. He's Southeast of me, and after that it continues it's Eastward voyage until heading Justin's way.
  11. Night all.
  12. i would say dependant on driver, some displacment is so minamal you real would go much smaller, but on a sub that has a fairly lage displacment, yes Agreed.
  13. That would be sweet, but that's still doing nothing for the parameter. Of course the FR will be different due to a different enclosure volume, and the acoustics from the moving assembly being outside the enclosure, but SD will remain unchanged.
  14. How so? SD is not a variable parameter. It's set and that's it. Displacement is the same on the frontal wave as the rear, with the obvious phase change. Only thing you gain is a limited displacement advantage due to the actual driver no longer being in the enclosure occupying precious space.
  15. Me likey. Wanna hear that biatch!
  16. I bought a fart pipe for my Taurus. It needs a muffler and this was only $1. How can you resist a $1 muffler?
  17. Phase plugs make me wet. And what perfectly manicured hands you have. I couldn't take a picture like that. It would confuse people. Whitest man on earth with black hands.
  18. Randy=funny.
  19. I'm working on a Fro as we speak. Way out of the norm for me. I usually grow it out a little for the winter, but I'm pretty much bald all spring and summer. I hate long hair too, but I want to see how stupid I'll look with an afro.
  20. I don't think so. I think Brad and I are the closest to you. Everyone else is pretty much up and down the east Coast except for Justin.
