Everything's wired right though, and my settings are perfect. I don't know what they're set at though cuz I can't explain it, but they're right. Personally I think it's awesome you did something. Stepping down a level needs to be done on occasion. Personally, I don't think you should ever let what anyone SAYS get you down or even really pay attention to it if it's in a negative form, but when it does piss you of, say something. There is no set amount of layers you should use. People break it down to a number or thickness, but you really can't. I'd done many with nothing but the layer of fleece and a thin layer of body filler with absolutely no problems. If you don't need the extra layers, why do the work. Do this instead. Take your thumb and press randomly around the outside of the pod. If there is a spot that flexes, put some more material there. There is more pressure exerted by your thumb in that one spot than even a SUBWOOFER could provide. Surely that would be fine with a midbass driver. It's all about curves with glass. I've had subwoofer enclosures with only 2 layers of very thin glass. As for the vinyl. unless your enclosure is super smooth and does not have any low or high spots, I suggest always using a foam behind the vinyl. It's not like carpet, and like paint, it will show quite a bit of imperfections. The foam will totally alleviate this problem. Just do a light finish layer, add the foam, vinyl, and be done.
