Kent may be able to hook you up on the Memphis set. The shop he works at carries them I believe. As for the Rainbows, I would take even their entry level sets at $150 and put them up against other sets costing 2-3 times as much. That's how much I am impressed with them. STRONG bottom end, clear midrange, bright up top.

Why not work with the CVs? Or do you just want to try something different? Most single SQ oriented drivers are going to use a small volume box and will yield less displacement than normal drivers. If it's TRUE SQ you are going for, I see no need to go with such a massive enclosure or even a large driver such as the Uber. The subbass driver will be the least of your concerns. Build the sub around the rest of the system. It's merely complimentary, and most often unnecessary.

Messed with Rainbow a bit. If I wasn't into DIY, I wouldn't buy anything else. But that's just me. Ane I know everything.

i have a 2 idq8's laying around-i've always wanted to run horns with those. problem is those id cd-2 neo horns are $800.00!!! i dont have room at all in my kicks(2003 S-10) to run a 3 way. well i could run a shallow 3"/4" mid in the side kicks but i've been told the idq8's and cd-2 neo's is all i need. i listen to metal and i've always dreamed of a car sounding like a P.A or a killer home audio system. think the idq8's and cd-2 neos will get me there? Idq is a subwoofer. IT's better left as that and not a midbass driver. DO like Effendi suggested and find a DEDICATED midbass. And get one that is tailored to your application. Just becuase a door is fully deadened means nothing in terms of how a driver is going to respond. I feel something is lacking in your installation of them. Perhaps you have them out of phase? Perhaps they are not fully sealed from front to back? Perhaps your crossover points are screwy? Why don't you give us some more info on your setup?

Go with Rainbow. May be hard to find, but you will be rewarded with the extra effort in finding them. DLS, eh, heard a lot of great things about them, but when I HEARD them (just a few times mind you), they haven't impressed me at all.

Keep the wiring. No need to downgrade to 4 guage. It'll just ending up costing more money. As for the sub, just run it sealed. Will work fine. Get a good component set with a strong midbass driver and you'll be all set to go.
