I never have used an internal HU X-over. In fact, I've only owned 1 unit that had it. I use all dedicated outboard stuff. To me, the HU should be nothing more than a means of transport. The neat thing about this JVC is it comes with a program to enable you to record MP3s onto DVD-Rs. 1000 songs on 1 disc, how could I refuse. May be lacking in some aspects, but for me, it's about convenience.- Welcome to the IHoP

ickyness how would the duals/single affect sound? Given the diameter or the pipe is sufficient enough to handle the flow, the 2 into 1 deal will sound pretty much the same as a True Dual setup if an equalizer tube is used. If not, there is a distinctly different sound. The real attribute to the sound is actualy the angle of the valves in the head. Many people like the sound of the Flowmasters on the Mustangs and buy them for their specific vehicle only to find out, it does not sound anywhere near a Mustang. Different valve angle. There's more to it than that, but that is the single largest contributing factor to sound in the exhaust system. My all-time favorite, a Flathead with lake pipes!
