Pay attention to this section. I'm going to make a bunch of copies and send them out to everyone.

Did you read last month's issue of CA&E? I just picked up that Prestige they reviewed in there. Does WAY more than I would ever need, but I got it for $150 on Ebay. Has an MSRP of over $500. They tested the useful range to be 1000+ feet and it even worked around and through buildings. The Viper tested against it didn't. This one also has the cool little LCD screen on the FOB.
  5. Funny S H I T right there.
  6. Application dependant. That particular box I built, I GUARANTEE you I will be able to detect a buzz from panel vibrations on the enclosure itself. However, I don't car about that enclosure, hence no bracing. This was the reason I wanted the 1" on that enclosure you built for me Kent. With the plexi front and mirrors, I did not want any braces to take away from the experience, therefore, the thicker material was necessary IMO. To the SPL guys, it may be of no use, but to others with a discerning ear, they will go to the extreme to prevent noise and increase efficiency.
  7. Eh, SUpa, bad move at SIN. That's all I'll say.
  8. Refurbished amp= non-working amp.
  9. Um, Yeah. So I go to hook everything up today and pull the Ultimate amp out that I bought from SD. Looks as if the thing has been dropped on it's face or slid across a floor. Hooked it up and no work. SD is a real piece of work. They better give me a satisfactory reply.
  10. It's about as useful as reading the rest of the content in this thread.

SO it appears. Oh well; I was forwarded the email. Figured it would make nice scenery.
  12. WHIP IT GOOD!
  13. Bracing is actually very key IMO, power aside. I usually brace all enclosures extensively, but I just wanted this to be done and it should handle 1300 fine. I would have braced if I wanted to take some more time and if my table saw was working. The angled cuts were problematic with the old circular saw though so I didn't want to hassle with it. The front of the enclosure is 16"H while the rear is 14". This is necessary because the rear deck slopes down and inward on the passenger compartment. /size comes in at 5.04 cubes after driver displacement.

  16. Yes. Back to the box. Almost finished. I care about it so much, I'm not even going to brace it.
  17. I prefer her clothed. Was not impressed.
  18. It's for Kent's old Treos. Going in my old winter beater I sold. Pictures will be up tonight. Hopefully the weather will break tomorrow and I'll have the entire trunk done.

  20. I'm building an enclosure right now.
  21. ?????? I quit.
