Kent, that really would be best. There are so many variations of each that it's going to take an article to explain. Brian Steele's DIY site has some good info on them.

The baffle is just what is used to separate the front and rear waves. Technically, the board they attach to the PNON would be considered a cone as it is what is actually moving the air. But then again, technically it could be considered a baffle as well being as how the sheer size of it would ultimatelt provide the separation. SO either way you look at it, could be either one. We'll go with Dan's rendering as a Dipole driver.- Welcome to the IHoP
Or I guess they would consider the "cone" the baffle.- Welcome to the IHoP
No, Dipole would use a driver mounted on a baffle. No baffle needed for the Parthenon.- Welcome to the IHoP

Finally tested my other Alpine today. 1 blown channel. Figures.- Welcome to the IHoP
SB is actually a decent game.- Welcome to the IHoP
Isn't the Parthenon just meant as a bipole driver? Don't think that would work too well in the automotive environment.- Mag 15 w/ 600 RMS?
You're right on target there. Another amp can always be added if needed, but the Magnum will work just fine on 600 watts.- "Regular" vs. ribbon tweets
The ribbons can play lower and to me have an edge in the detail department. They are also very sensitive and disperse the material over a rather wide field. They are quite easy to damage as well as there is just a small film or membrane that vibrates and it is prone to damage from even slight over powering. I have read also to always use some form of passive component in-line with it as an elctronic filter is just not enough. You need to increase resistance or something or other. I think Madisound has it pretty laid out, out Zalytron. That's all I can tell you from my own experience though, which is limited.- Mag 15 w/ 600 RMS?
Quite well. What's the application?- Who's the best here?
Hey Kent, could you take a scrap and photo the mirror for me? I'd like to see how clear it actually is.- Fine Woodworking
Kent should have some nice mirror scraps you could use.- Newbie here
