The gloss factor of the paint itself is where the shine comes from. Wax should be stripped before clay. Wax is nothing more than a layer if protection.

When at the body shop, I always mixed 16oz distilled water and a couple drops of car wash. You may have to experiment with your brabd if car wash. Make sure it is not a wash/wax. You want ZERO suds, but just slick enough to create a film when rubbing your fingers together.

It won't. The only way it would possibly do that would be if you installed it through one hole and then sealed the hole directly after. The foam expands and cures with air, so it just simply can't expand enough to bow a panel. A two part foam that cures endothermically is a different story.
