Hi everyone. I've been coming to this message board for about 2 years now just to lurk and read over your technical threads again and again. It has been interesting watching this place change. I've been wanting to engage more with Audio community in general, but I can't bring myself to post on other message boards for reasons we will just leave alone right now. I'm doing what I think are some cool things right now, and I'd like to share and gather input from other users. I used to compete in dB drag, but in the last year i've been more and more interested in hifi and audiophile sound. I have a pair of 36" tall tower speakers I'm going to be rebuilding soon, and a 91 Honda Civic Hatch I'll be installing in from the ground up. The two tower cabinets that currently house two 8" woofers and an aluminium tweeter each, are being replaced with a pair of 40" tall tapered transmission line enclosures. The aluminium tweeters are getting thrown out, and I'd like to replace them with either SB acoustics or vifa ring radiators. Still getting the things ironed out, but thats the plan currently. I had my wisdom teeth removed 2 days ago, and I took some happy pills, so the plan may change in as near as an hour or so. For my Civic, I have a 08 Pioneer HU, a pair of DD-1510's in a PWK designed tapered transmission line. A pair of Hybrid Audio Imagine 6's, and a Planet audio RXD-1400 amplifier. I'm going to be switching a few components around and adding other equipment. The goal is to have something that sounds very nice ( to me ) at reasonable listening levels with certain types of music, yet cranks when called upon to do so. Thanks everyone.
