So what can I do about this if it continues? Your current enclosure is sealed, correct? If so, then unloading isn't an issue. Does the amplifier have a subsonic filter? If so, what did you set it to? Low Pass Filter set to? Double check wiring. I can't emphasize this enough. Well I could... Lastly, I would try lowering the gain. If you lower it a bit, output doesn't seem to decrease, and the noise goes away, then perhaps that's all it was. I was told when you have a sealed enclosure the ssf filter isnt a factor.- Single 12" sub
Not trying to be a jerk, but are you sure you can't fit a dual 12 ported box? What do you drive? I'm curious because the two IDQ's ported would probably make you happy. I drive a Camry but have a little false floor with the spare still in. So it's raised maybe 3" or so? I mean I could shove a 5 cu ft box in there but don't really want to. Plus for the hr or two I did play with the subs they weren't taking the 1200 watts to nicely and that was in a small sealed box. I doubt they'd take that kind of power in a ported box. You should be able to get a ported box in easily. Also IDQ's should not have any problem taking 600 rms each. I guess I could shove it in there. I have max right now 40 (L)x 14 (H)x 20 (D). If I gave both subs 2.2 cu each tuned to 27 hz the box is going to be about 5.5 cu ft (slot port). I guess I could do that probably would be louder than a single 12. Might as well try it out see if I can deal with no more trunk space. No doubt- Single 12" sub
How'd your Icon take the power? What kind of box did you have it in? The 3 cuft ported to 34 hz. If your looking for just spl it isnt for you than.- Single 12" sub
I was runnig a Icon with a aq1200 and was very happy with it. I upgraded to a xcon. but both are great sq speakers.- 300 amp Alternator

I will probably use a 250 for now.- 300 amp Alternator
Dont know. so I assume that your first post was a type-o then as you asked for fusing size between the battery and amp but you meant alt. lol also if my first statement holds true then, if they wire is capable of 300amps use a 300amp fuse! and always fuse to the wires capacity! Thank you.- 300 amp Alternator
300 amps.- 300 amp Alternator
Dont know.- 300 amp Alternator
Mechman 300amp and zero gauge wire to the battery and ground to the battery. Is this fuse going in between the alternator & battery, or battery & amplifier? Are you using 1/0 wire from the battery to the amplifier? Does the amplifier have on-board fusing? Alt and battery. 300a anl fuse will work fine. Thank you much kind sir.- 300 amp Alternator

What size fuse should be between the battery and amp?- Dcon 15" for lows?
I had one with the recommended size box tuned to 34 hz. I was happy with it.- SSA, now over 20,000 members strong and growing

Aaron just because I am umemployed right know doesnt give Tirefyre the right to say I am broke. I speak the truth and unfortunately, you can't quite understand what I typed. You took one word I typed and that was the only thing you gathered from my post. Many times in this thread, and many others, you've proven your inability to comprehend what is typed, or you let your emotion get involved and just take it in a totally different direction. If you don't want someone to comment on your being unemployed, do not post it. It's simple as that. You opened the door and I merely walked in. Just as you have the right to type anything you want, I have the right to comment on it. I expect the same in any thread or post I make. It is common sense, but alas this is a virtue any more, not an instinct. All I was trying to get out of this thread is what another member is doing to it.Sorry for all the trouble. This is the point I am trying to make. If that's what you wanted to know, ASK THAT, and give us THAT information. See what I mean here? We all could have avoided all this had you provided more information (and left out the unnecessary) and asked the specifics that you wanted to know. Now, with all that out of the way, the BEST thing about SSA is we can all have discussions like this and don't end up like a bunch of idiots. We all may call each other names or piss each other off, but in the end, I think everyone comes to an understanding and we set our differences aside and come to a working conclusion. I don't see that on any other forums. Thank you for the input.- processors
