I would go with at least one run of 1/0 wire. Especially for competion use.

How high do you want the voltage to stay? How good is your electrical? How many batteries are you going to run?

You would need two alternators to run that amp at near full output. Plus your other electrical loads.

You won't hear the difference so don't worry about it.Also how big of an alternator do you have? How many batteries? He won't hear a difference, but the meter should pick it up. I made that statement before I knew he was going to more batteries & a H O Alternator.

Till you go to a one ohm load. then you will need more alt.Output!

Will a 4 gauge ring terminal fit? You don't need need 1/0 for 90 amps. You might even get away with 8 gauge. If your going to one ohm you will need a bigger alt and 0 gauge.
