Extended lead time on BL?
Yeah I knew that I just wasn't sure if the delays on the BL's would affect the re-cone since I am just getting a new basket and not a whole new motor

Extended lead time on BL?
I am sending in my 12" bl and re-coning it into a 15 and i saw on the site that there is and extended lead time on the BL's so my question is will that still affect me since I am re-conning to a 15" and will be getting a new basket?

Sub Blown
- Bl 15 cut sheet
I noticed that on the first view of the cut sheet for the bl 15 that it says the width of the box is 33 3/4" but on the other two views it is 34" , is that some kind of mix up or am I missing something?- Sub Blown
alright well thanks for the help- Sub Blown
I forgot to say this earlier but the guy who built and installed the sub in the first box I had might have wired it wrong. I took the sub out to re-wire it with some thicker speaker wire and I used a diagram that someone post on here from 12volt.com and I'm not sure what it was wired to but it definetly not wired the same way as the diagram and this was when i first got the sub and i was using it wired like that for a couple weeks so could this have damaged it and just over time the voice coils blew because of it?- Sub Blown
No it sounded just fine and they just cut out and no the sub doesn't work- Sub Blown

The box is 2.5 tuned to 32- Sub Blown
I live in Stillwater. I have a Kicker zx1000 and I had the gain a little over half so I'd say roughly 6-700rms? My electrical is all stock but i do have a red top battery- From: Sub Blown

I have a 12" bl and today I am pretty sure I blew the voice coils on it. I was driving around and the sub cutout and I opened the back of my jeep to see that there was smoke coming out of the port. I know for sure that I had everything wired right and i didn't even have the gain up that high( a little over half). I am going to re-cone it but I was wondering if anyone knows what could have caused this so I don't blow the new I get. Thanks- Sub Clicking?
I turned it up and that seemed to fix it. Thanks for the help- Sub Clicking?
It was kind of hard to tell but I held a tape measure up to it and it looks like it starts doing it around 2"- Sub Clicking?
I have a 12" bl and and I recently built a new box for it. I noticed some what of a clicking sound coming from the sub. At first I just thought it was something rattling in the back of my car but today I went to check it out and noticed it was coming from the sub. It only seems to do it on the low notes and it doesn't do it every time either. I can't seem to figure out what or why it is making that sound.- Q or Bl
I haven't heard a Q but i have a 12" bl and I love it. It gets really loud on the mids and isn't terrible on the lows either. As far SQ it does sound pretty good, I had two 12" cvrs before the bl and I thought the bl had a lot better SQ. So I would definitely go with the Bl.- Box design
Thats what I thought but the outer diameter for the sub is like 12.5" and the from the edge of the box to the point where the port turns into to box is only a little over 11" on the cut out. Would not having the double plates on the front make it more room for the sub to fit next to the port?- Box design
I have a 12 " bl and I am about to begin building a new box for it. I want to use the same cut outs posted on here but I want to make the box with the sub facing up and the port facing the back door on my jeep. Does anyone know how to modify the cut out given to make it this way or do I need to make a whole new design?- Amp problem
- Amp problem
A buddy of mine has an Orion amp, I'm not sure on the model of it but it's a 2400 watt amp and the yellow ecp light I think it is comes on and there is no output from the sub so I'm just kind of wondering what the ecp light is for and why it is on.- enclosure design
I am about to build a new box for my bl and I wanted to know if it would sound better with the sub facing up and the port facing the back door on my jeep or have the sub and port on the same side?- Wiring diagram
Does anyone have or know where to find a wiring diagram that shows how to wire a single 1 ohm sub to 2 ohms?- Bigger speaker wire
I have a 12" bl and I currently have it wired with 16 gauge speaker wire and I am about to re-wire it with 12 gauge, by doing this can I expect a a change in the output of the sub?- Amp is clipping?
Good question, I kinda doubt that amp would handle any load under 2ohm to begin with, but perhaps it's wired lower and that's the problem My sub is a dual 1 ohm wired to 2 ohms- Amp is clipping?
Yeah your probably right. I haven't checked the speaker wire on the sub, if some were loose could that be why its clipping? Just because your amp shuts off doesn't mean the signal is being clipped... And no, if your speaker wires are loose it's getting a bad connection and that could possibly effect output but isn't going to cause clipping. However, if the speaker wires are loose and by chance touch then that may fry some shit and throw your amp into protect. What else could be making the amp shut off? - Bl 15 cut sheet
