Audio System for GF's Car...Help!
Thanks! Does Cadence make good quality stuff? 1000 watt 4 channel for 100 dollars seems a little odd haha...I will definitely take that setup into consideration. What do you guys think of Image Dynamics CTX 6.5 for front and 6x9s in the rear as well as the i4500 4 channel amp? Also...is it best to hook up speakers with RCA's...that is how mine are done...I have never done my own installs, except for a few things, so I might have my friend do it who has experience Lastly, any amp kits you guys recommend for the speaker amps, that aren't too pricey

Audio System for GF's Car...Help!
Hey guys, My girlfriend has a 2007 Nissan Altima and would like to start "renovating" her stock system as it is complete junk...I know a decent amount about audio and have spent several years to get where I am at: Pioneer 4300DVD Boston Acoustics S85 Kicker Speaker amp (can't remember exact model) Audioque 2200D SSA XCON 15 - Ported Box Nothing to crazy, but it sounds good... Now she doesn't have unlimited funds and I suggested she do it in small steps...so far now I think we will stick with doing speakers and a speaker amp...with a budget of $200 maybe $300...super tough budget I know...but she doesn't need the best stuff...just something that is decent. I believe the speakers in her car are 6.5" in front and 6x9 in the rear deck So...any suggestions on some speakers and an amp?

Alternator...
audioque 2200d, 0 guage wire, big 3, no extra batteries or anything yet. I dont have the amp yet, just ordered it so it may be fine, but I was just curious just in case. and yea I was thinking DC could customize something if needed. oh and i have a 2007 F-150...but keep in mind its a 4.2L V6, not the 4.6 or 5.4, its a lot harder to find things for the 4.2 Is this going to be a daily driver playing full tilt all the time? Or competing and full tilt is only for short runs? DC Power listed some older year f150s with the 4.2l option, but with your year it's not listed on the site, however that doesn't mean much, I bet if you call them they'll have it or could make it They also came out with another line of alternators, so depending on your needs and budget they have something that works for everyone. Do you ever plan on doing another build and using more amps? If so then I'd get a big alt. If your not going to be upgrading down the road then you could get one of their smaller alts and an extra battery and you'd probably be good for driving around at full tilt. If your just going to play it at full tilt for short sessions then a couple xspower batts would likely do. its just a daily driver, play at moderate levels sometimes and full tilt other times, but definitely not all the time. I am not adding more amps or doing another build, this is final Okay, I would suggest getting an alt. Some say you could use a large battery bank and be fine, but your always going to be draining them and needing a recharge when your at home, and a whole battery bank takes up space and weighs a lot. Either get a top of the line DC alt and run no extra batteries or get a lower line alt and an extra battery for the rear. At least that's what I would do Ok, yea an alt might have to wait a little while, but hopefully that will be the last thing I need. Should i go ahead and buy the audio q 2200 for my two icons??

So I dont know if I will need an alternator, at least I hope not. However, if I did I dont think it is possible to find an aftermarket one for the 4.2L as it is not a very common engine in the f150...anyone have any ideas (I would not be able to afford an alternator for a long time anyways, might have a new truck by then anyways...)

AMP QUESTION
You'll end up more pissed when you spend a bunch of money on a high powered amp and sub and end up blowing something up because you couldn't actually support the system, or when you don't get anywhere near full potential out of them because you couldn't properly support the system. IMO you're in over your head. If you weren't even aware of what the "big 3" were, you'll do way more damage than good with a high powered system. You can't toss a 2kw+ amplifier on a stock electrical system and expect to get anywhere near full performance, in addition to running the risk of damaging equipment. What is your budget for everything.....amplifier, electrical system upgrades, etc? What can you replace/add/upgrade as far as the electrical system is concerned? What does your electrical system consist of now? budget is about 600 dollars...no upgrades to electrical just the stock alternator, etc

AMP QUESTION
ok so...if you guys were to recommend the next step as far as my setup goes what amp should i look into and what other things do i need to focus on (unfortunately i dont know much about how to do the big 3 so I would have to pay someone to do that for me...i have no idea when that will happen because I have already dropped quite a bit of cash into my system)

AMP QUESTION
probably not?? thats just what i was recommended...i need at least 2000 watts obviously The only thing obvious is that you have no idea what you need. You don't need anywhere near that and won't hear the difference. mark recommended the sundown so i assumed that was the way to go...there 1000 watts rms each...what do i need then?
