DC POWER or MECHMAN
I hardly demo at idle unless it's cold outside. If its 70 or higher at idle for 10 min or so, my voltage drops to a steady 13.9. If I rev up to 1500, it creeps back up to 14.1/14.2 because it cools the alt better.

Can I replace/remove these???
Uses an old broom stick lol. Matt Wilson has 6 dc xl12's and he had a broom stick and it held while playing it so...

Port
You want at least the amount of space as the port width. Say if the port is 22Lx5w, 5 inch would be minimum.

HDC3 or UFO BTL
Hdc3 for a great low budget high output sub. Btl if you have the money

Help/ Advice sub suddenly crapped out
I know 3 people that have psi recones and that's a total of 6 woofers that never had a problem. Don't let one bad thing scare you off of psi. They are all over Mississippi.

Help/ Advice sub suddenly crapped out
I've burped a square 30hz wave as previously stated. Didn't even get warm. That was over the drivers rms also. 3 30 sec burps back to back just so I could read the score of each.

Help/ Advice sub suddenly crapped out
I remember reading somewhere where Nick (Of Fi Audio) explained that not only does clipping cause an increase in power but also limits the sub's ability to cool itself because of the movement of the sub mimics that of a square wave (it sits and collects heat, then slams in reverse and sits and collects heat) instead of a sine wave (where it would slow down at the peaks and valleys and always be moving). Of course the speaker itself can't go from rest -> peak-> valley instantly so it does cool, but not as much as it would normally. *take all of this information with a grain of salt as I am working from pure memory and don't fully understand all the concepts here. But I think I have a basic understand of what's going on. 95honda did tests, I just gotta find the thread. There is lag in the suspension and it will not sit for aslong as you think. Doesn't just stop-start like a machine. I think we remember the same thread. There were also concerns with the drivers that he used because iirc they didn't rely on excursion for cooling as much as the high power subs we use. I understand the suspension lag issue also, I was just pointing out what Nick said. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk. Sorry if it came off that way. I remember that issue with the drivers he used now. I couldn't remember every thing that was said lol

Help/ Advice sub suddenly crapped out
I've played an aq hdc3 on a fully clipped 1000rms at 30hz. Never got warm or smelled or anything. So what's the difference of a 2500rms sub taking 1200rms fully clipped? I would hope 1600 watts wouldn't burn a btl up

Help/ Advice sub suddenly crapped out
If the sub was clipped at 1200 watts, wouldn't it only be about 30% more power at full clip? That is like 1600 watts which still below the rms? Just something to think about...

Had a car audio dream lastnight...
Haha shit, I wish I could have a dream like that. All my car audio dreams are of me blowing my subs

Blueprint Audio??????
When is the last time an 18 inch sub woofer not worked in a box from 6-8 cubes? It's pretty simple to figure out a box. They said the softened the suspension from the q, use the q box recommendations...

Changing the Frequency of a box....?
I used expanding foam that I sprayed in a cardboard box with a trash bag inside of it, let it cure, then glue to the inside of the box somewhere to not disrupt port air flow.

Port Vs Power
Large ports wam on the lows!!!!! Most of the time. And they are more efficient. And move a ton of air!

Aq hdc4 18?
Well that's good I hope to have some more comments like this!!

Aq hdc4 18?
Has any one heard this thing before? I am sellin my hdc3's to get higher power handling subs. This monster caught my eye. I'll use it for daily on 2000 watts each with a comp every month or 2. Let me know what you guyz think?

I believe that's more common in class a/b amps though.

Hpf is high pass filter. Which is also known as a subsonic filter. It cuts off frequencys below its set point. I think you mean a low pass filter, which cuts off frequencys above its set point.
