  1. yes, more "pressure" to the ear. Im not really worried about sound quality. but would it really hurt the quality all that much?
  2. welcome, good luck with your setup hope its what you want
  3. as far as db go, you think the max recommened air space will achieve that?
  4. i had a w7, and now have a SSD. I can say first if you want beat SSD is the way to go. In a sealed boxed with the right Cubes the SSD is rated for it will last and sound extremely good. My w7 was in a ported box and the band was loose in a month terribly loose it needed a recone. But JL's have a problem iv noticed in sealed boxes with burning up the voice coils. I have a friend with w3's in a sealed box and he fried 3. although im not sure if the w6 would be any better. I can tell you this the SSD will definitely have more output, and they would both probably be close in quality of sound. But it has to be in the right size box. the SSD will also hit way lower deep bass notes alot cleaner also SSD if unique, you will have something different than just a regular over priced JL sorry if i was harsh on JL but once again its personal prefernece
  5. hey guys my name is samuel, i did a few post already, so i apologize for not signing in. I been into car audio for a while now, im even more into motors and performance. I dont know everything about car audio, but i know a good bit. Im using this web to find help if needed, (like my new box i might be building i already started a topic) I got rid of my Chinese plastic kickers for a Fi SSD 15. 4 cubes, 34hz tuned on a AQ1200. I will give help but only to my knowledge, but everyone gets proved wronged every now and then. So thanks guys, to all yall who help me, and i hope i may be able to help you in the future also pictures of my set up should be up later today, Im having a few problems with my internet. (i been having my account for awhile but just starting to use it)
  6. I have a FI SSD 15. (bp power, flat coil) I currently have it in a 18x18x38 box tuned to 34-36hz somewhere in there. aprox 4 cubes. Im thinking of building a new box, what should i tune it to, and how many cubes? i find my box has a slight bit of port noise because there are no 45s and it doesnt go as quite low as i want it to. Iv heard other ssd 15's hit harder than mine, so im trying to squeeze every thing i can out of the sub. also with the box the way it is now, what should my Amp be set at? Lowpass and subsonic? If it matters: its going in a crew cab GMC, powered by a AQ1200. thanks, in advance all help is appreciated
  7. thats pretty sick I AM A look into doing the LEDS the only thing you can use at orilles is if you wanted to do just a regular halogen bulb, you just buy the plastic socket adapter and the colored bulb. which only works with 99-02 GM vehicles But if your going with LEDs you gonna have to get it off the internet like they said.
  8. ya i am sorta new to this all so excuse me if im wrong ever.. Im not sure if its a good idea maybe someone more experienced could help, But maybe you could also look into running two smaller amps. Just price two small ones, and compare it to a larger one.... iv messed with both sundown and aq amps, they are both good quality, i prefer the AQ more but it comes down to Person Wants.....
  9. Im with notorious.. Run just one BL now, see how the amp and alt handles it and see if you like it... If its not enough then build you another box ONE box tuned right for the 2 subs and upgrade your amp and you will have a nice set up. Running 2 subs in 2 differnet tuned boxes might or might not work..... it all comes down to personal prefernce and what you will like. ... hope this was helpful
  10. AQ has some really nice amps. Check them out. Me and all my friends have them they a great quality and i never could get my hot. They dont have a big selection though but the prices are extremly reasonable. www.AudioQue.com hope this can help
  11. i have a FI SSD 15, in a 18x18x38 box, tuned to 33hz, i forgot to put the 45's in it. Its pretty loud so i dont think i need the 45's. But is it really worth building another box to put the 45's in?
