ohm understanding
For your question about ohms 4 single voice coil 4ohm subs can be wired for either 1 or 4 ohms. Look for an amp that is rated for the sum of the RMS ratings of the subs at either of these values. Be aware that an amp running at 1 ohm will get warmer than one running at 2 or 4 ohms, but will usually be cheaper for the power (1000W at 1ohm vs 1000w at 4 ohms). There are plenty of good sites that explain most terminology and theories in language that;s easily understood. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_c...sp?Q=4&I=41 and www.bcae1.com are both excellent learning tools.

Ok, First things first stay away from sony subs, they are garbage! Pay attention to RMS values as max or peak numbers are almost meaningless. Most people will also recommend you do not mix subs, it can cause cancelation I believe is the reaso, get four of the same type and size of subs your results will be better. If your unsure of good brands post what your looking for SPL(straight loud), SQ (sound quality), or LSQ (sound quality that can get loud). I'm guessing your looking for either spl or LSQ with four subs. Also post a budget of what you want to spend.

Trying to decide between AA Havoc and Fi Q
I'm from Canada, no dealers in the country yet I would be very willing to offer up my car as a demo vehicle for AA just to give some places a taste The car regularly gets driven around Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Trying to decide between AA Havoc and Fi Q
damn, looks like I took too long, I was going to order as soon as I could sell my current subs and a couple amps I have sitting at home. I wish there would have been a bit of warning from ssa. If there are any dealers on here that have a set price let me know what a 12" dual 2 havoc would run and where you are located. I am from Canada, but my brother is a long haul truck driver and goes through the states regularly and could pick one up for me.

Woven tinsels on Havocs?
So I posted the question in the Fi forum but haven't gotten a full answer there. I had asked about woven tinsels on the Q and was wondering if this is a change that has been or will be done on the Havocs. I'll hopefully be picking on e up mid March or at tax time.

Questoin about products.
I've seen that Fi is using woven leads at least on some products, is the Q on of these? Also is this change going to make it over to the AA Havoc any time soon?

Can we get a sticky for box specs?
Is it possible to get a sticky started for the recommended box specs for the current offerings? I was hoping to get a 15" but I'm not going to be able to fit a 4 cube box in my trunk and leave enough room for anything. So I need to know box specs for a 12" havoc please

Trying to decide between AA Havoc and Fi Q
So, I understand the two companies are focused on different areas of the market, but I'd like some help figuring out which sub to buy. I've got an awesome wife who wants to buy me one for Christmas. Can someone who has experience with both of these subs try and explain the difference a person might be able to hear, like is one louder than the other in their spec'd boxes? I see some differences in construction (triple vs double magnet and spiders) and t/s specs (Bl, Vas, etc.), what differences would these make. I'm looking for an LSQ set-up that will play mostly rock with a little rap to show off with. I would really like to fit a 15" in the trunk of my '94 Mazda 626, at least in a ported box but I'm not too sure it'll squeeze in there. So as it stands I would like opinions on 12" ported, and 15" sealed. I will be using my Kicker SX1250.1 (birthsheet at 1420 watts) for power. which one would you pick and why? Also what are the ported box specs on the 12" havoc? And if devildriver or any other Canadians have received anything from these have you had to pay duty on it, and if so how much?

Tossed up between AA havoc and Fi Q 15's
I think I've narrowed my choices between these two and I'm wondering what the difference in sound is. I'll be using a Kicker SX1250.1 that has a birthsheet of 1420 watts for power. I'm not 100% decided on what type of box though, a sealed wouldn't be much bigger than the box I already have in there and I'm not sure I would have the space available for a ported box so at the moment I'm leaning more towards sealed of about 2.5-3 ft^3. Im looking for LSQ and more output than I'm getting from my 2 Infinity 12's on about 700 watts. Is one sub likely to get louder or sound much better than the other?

OK, I'm sorry I didn't explain myself better. Yeah, louder is one thing I would like but I'm also hoping for better SQ. the infinity's are great at low to moderate volume but if I push to hard they start to sound muddy and they can't keep up on songs that have fast bass drums ( like Disturbed or Metallica 'One'). They aren't too bad on songs that don't have complicated bass. Does that explain it better? Also I haven't been able to find box specs for the Havoc, could you let me know what size and tuning they recommend? I've leaning toward the Q for a while but with the new havoc line out I'm questioning it. And about the clearance issue will a 15" sub fit in a 17" high box made out of 1" wood or is it OK to have the sub facing up in a trunk car?

LSQ my ears aren't too picky but I don't want something that sounds horrible just to get slightly louder. Hoping to get more output than my Infinity's at about 700 watts give me but still sound good.

Yet another help me pick a sub thread
That's a couple of the questions I'm looking for, other than that what do you mean? I'm looking for an upgrade on what I have. I'm hoping to get more output and fair SQ Just looking for opinions I have no way to hear any of these personally. I know customer service for both are top-notch, if one had better CS than I would probably pick that one for that fact. I've had my eye on all three of these for some time and want some opinions from people who have heard these subs

Well I'm looking to improve on what I've got (check sig) I listen to predominantly rock but do mix in some rap. Hoping to go louder but keep it fairly clear

Yet another help me pick a sub thread
I'm looking to upgrade my sub and I have no way to hear either of these subs personally, give me your opinion please. I have a 94 Mazda 626, amp is a Kicker SX1250.1 birthsheet at 1420 watts. I'm looking at either: a 15" Fi BL with cooling a 15" Fi Q with bp power a 15" Ascendant Audio Havoc. I think I can get a 4 cu ft net box tuned to about 28-32 Hz into the trunk. The other question I have is that I think I have about 17" clearance under the parcel shelf. Is that enough room to get a box in that would fit a 15"? If it's not is there a problem with facing the sub up or should I stick with a 12" version of the sub? Also please let me know why you would pick the sub you chose. Thanks.

Kicker SX1250.1 alright on a 12" mag?
Looking for a new sub and wondering if my amp is too much power (birthed at 1420 watts)
