  1. I just updated my first post to add T/S parameters and payment method. Thanks, Mark
  2. Oh yeah! They would be *extremely* happy with 2500 watts. They need more power to get going compared to the IXL's, but given their stiff suspension, that's pretty typical.
  3. You can shoot me payment via PayPal if you wish. Either that, or wait and I will have a pre-order selection on the webstore that you can provide your credit card with. Best, Mark
  4. If I can get commitments for ten units, I will proceed with the order. Timelines are as follows: - Ten units ordered or 2 weeks (March 17); whichever comes first. If I do not receive commitments for ten units by March 17, those who have committed will receive a complete refund and we move on. - Estimated production time is 21 days (this is an approximate timeline) - Estimated shipping time to Mach 5 in Winnipeg is 25 days - Folks will then receive their unit(s) 2-5 days afterward once I receive the $80 balance. If you paid the full amount up front, they will be shipped to you immediately. Shipping times subject to the courier Best, Mark
  5. I received quotes from my OEM on the SPL-15 this evening: $330.00 each This includes shipping within North America. You will never see anything like this anywhere else for a driver of this caliber. And I challenge anyone out there to match it... This is a "one time" price for those who wish to jump on this deal. Trust me, *if* they become mainstream, they will not sell for anywhere near this price. Here are the caveats to this deal: - Pre-order payment is $250.00 per driver. The $80 balance is a flat rate shipping fee from me to you. If you wish to pay for it in full, you are welcome to do so. - If I do not receive adequate pre-order requests/payments, the deal is off. If this happens, those who have sent their deposit to me will be refunded - If the pre-order goes through, all those who have partaken in on it will receive regular updates on the progress of the order. Here are the T/S parameters on the SPL-15: Fs = 39.91 Hz Re = 3.70 ohms[dc] Qt = 0.35 Qes = 0.39 Qms = 3.90 Mms = 250.57 grams Rms = 16.100405 kg/s Cms = 0.000063 m/N Vas = 50.79 liters Sd= 754.77 cm^2 Bl = 24.398737 Tm Lp(2.83V/1m) = 94.46 dB Pre-order Payment Methods You can send your payment via PayPal. My account is [email protected] Please make sure your full name and address is included. You can also pay via credit card through the webstore if you desire. Just click here. Thanks for looking. Mark : Edited for clarification of $80 balance fee, T/S parameters and payment information.
  6. I should have numbers by mid next week (not SPL numbers but the other stuff).
  7. Better start saving your pennies then...
  8. We tried the unit in Pugglsey's car, and despite the fact that it blended well with his mains, it didn't seem to produce the raw output he was used to with is eD 15. Of course, an 8" will never perform like a 15" would, I think both of us were expecting a little more output than what we got. So, back to the drawing board. I'll let you know when the next iteration of it is complete. Best, Mark
  9. I believe it was more like 4db. A guy with four IXL-15's hit 155 with the old; 151 with the new.
  10. That's what I heard. Do you know what differentiates the old TL from the new(er) one? When you say new are you referring to "brand new"?
  11. Well, I'm going to have 5k on tap this summer, but I highly doubt I will be able to achieve that in a 2001 Bonneville
  12. A number of folks have been asking when the SPL-15 would be available. Given the existing sales of the current SPL-12, I am finding it difficult to justify the added expense for another driver in the line. I am however, open to doing a small run of SPL-15's provided there is commitment from those folks who are interested in acquiring one (or two or three...). To picture of what the SPL-15 would look like, imagine the beefiness of the SPL-12, only in a bigger version. There, simple wasn't it? So, those of you who spoke of, or asked about an SPL-15, belly up to the bar and let's talk about it. Best, Mark
  13. Something like that should be fairly close to original price IMO. Keep in mind the MAW line is priced below what it be to begin with. Best, Mark
  14. What is FSC?
  15. Yes, I'm sure its located in a very desirable area of the city...
  16. This is perfect for you guys. You can start up SSA right there: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/rfs/583053466.html
  17. Not expensive enough. I think you should be looking at the $800k+ homes if anything...
  18. Remember, I said 'was'. There used to be a site called 7of9.com that had some real nice pictures of her. Seems to be gone now.
  19. Jeri Ryan was hot... Why don't you talk about more manly things like arranging floral bouquets or waxing?
  20. Gee, every time I come in here you guys are talking about the gym, and fitness and other gay stuff like that...
  21. Who needs an amp when you have the wall socket.
  22. Hmmm... The breaker popped about four times and the driver was fine. This shows there was no short. Like Scott said, the only way to measure true power through the driver is to use a clamp meter. Frankly, I think more power flowed through it than 8kw...
  23. Scott, were you there to witness this?
  24. Hard to say bud. You are applying standard Ohm's Law. So, which of the numbers are correct: P = I 2 x R = 225 watts P = E x I = 1800 watts P = E 2 / R = 14400 watts Current = 15 amps (we assume) Voltage = 120 volts Resistance = 1 Ohm nominal at 60Hz Forgive me for getting a boner when the larger number is used. That's just human nature.
