IXL Questions
Yes, the tooling has being acquired to finish these things off. Unfortunately, things don't go as fast as one wishes, but I anticipate it will move faster once the CNC gets set up. Apologies for the delays.... Best, Mark

Modifying SPL-12 dustcaps.
The only time I would suggest drilling holes in the cap is if you intend to push them *very hard*. Otherwise, don't bother. Thanks, Mark

Man, is that site ever a shit fest. Nothing but garbage ads everywhere. Thanks for posting the link Sean, there have been very few who have used the 15 in a car environment. Best, m

It has been awhile since I have updated this thread - strictly my fault as Dave has been sending me updates and I have neglected to post them. So we continue the trek down Dave's lane and his quest to get this work of art completed:- Weekend Fun - MJ-18M + SD-12k
So we did a BassRace with the same driver today. We found that 4kw was a bit too much for it. 3kw is more the happy place. This would be a good driver to use at 139.9- Weekend Fun - MJ-18M + SD-12k
Yeah, despite the crappy weather it was fun. I want to get Murilo to BassRace it now... hehehe- Weekend Fun - MJ-18M + SD-12k
Last weekend I made up a modified MJ-18M and we decided to do some power testing using a SounDigital SD-12k. This unit has a single 1 Ohm voice coil and a couple of other mods: The box we placed it in. Not sure what the size or tuning was as it belonged to Murilo. Perhaps he can comment on it: First test went fairly well with 1.5kw: Second test did better with more power: Third test was with 11.6kw of power: Fourth test didn't produce any more output but the FrankenMJ took quite a bit - almost 16kw(!): That's pretty decent power for a single SD-12k amp!- My Dual IXL 12 Build

Yeah, I'm afraid not. As mentioned, the thickness of the coil makes it impossible. Sorry..- Mach 5 to carry Sound Digital
