  1. Guess I'm missing something.
  2. Why don't you guys just use Pirate Bay?
  3. I just burst out laughing when I saw your ava
  4. I'll see about working on them this weekend. I'll take some snaps and do some response curves.
  5. They're almost here. I received the import papers...
  6. thanks Mark... sorry to bug. Hey Jordy, Mounting diameter is 11"; outside diameter is 12.25" (without rubber rap gasket on). Received paperwork, so they should be close.
  7. Its very possible..
  8. Bumpity... They are on their way to me. Not exactly sure when they will arrive but you guys who invested in the preorder will be the first to know. Jordy, I'll get you the dimensions on the basket tomorrow. m
  9. I believe Creative Sound Solutions in BC is selling PR's now. Might want to check them out...
  10. Sorry to say that the acronym 'LLT' is only an Internet term. It doesn't exist outside the virtual world. Just an fyi...
  11. One option would be to build an enclosure so that you achieve a natural roll off at 60Hz. That way you won't have to invest in expensive caps for highpass. You can then concentrate on a single inductor-resistor combo for the high end. Another option (more trickier) would be to build a bandpass box to achieve a natural roll off at both ends. Then you won't have to worry about buying crossover parts.

LLT = EBS. LLT (Large Low Tuned) is an "internet name" a man by the name of Steve Callas created for no particular reason. EBS or Extended Bass Shelf is the standard name (created many years ago and adopted by all known industry groups including AES) used for describing what Callas rebranded.
  13. How about a cpu heatsink? They're fairly cheap and certainly widely available..
  14. If you can go bigger, then go bigger - 2.5 - 3 cubes
  15. If you're looking for party speakers you will need something that is much more efficient than the MAW-10's. You won't need low bass either - think 80Hz and above with emphasis on ~120-160Hz. That's where most of the excitement is.
  16. Very good points. Perhaps the OP should be looking into decent mid-bass drivers instead..
  17. Here is another one with a 35Hz tune. As DIY mentioned, it will not produce the 'peaky' boom sound so many folks are accustomed to. If you are after that sort of sound, I don't think the IXL is for you.
  18. Here are a couple of simulations for you to ponder - first is a closed box, the second is ported. With a sealed box you will achieve a nice flat response (less cabin gain); with the ported you will get the added thump due to the peak in the response:
  19. I'll call the ship and tell them to go 110% on the reactors.
  20. They are on their way...
  21. Before you dump your units, consider trying them out in a sealed config. You might get a sound quality improvement...
  22. It looks about right. It appears that the area taken up by the port/wood has already been worked into the total, so you're fine with what you see.
  23. it will cost ~$8-10 for shipping alone. The cost of the wire is pennies; the ends run about $1 a pair unless you buy them in bulk. I can make one for you without a problem, but are you willing to pay that price?
  24. eh? are you guys serious? just go to your friendly computer shop and grab what you need. i have about 500 feet here but it would cost more to ship it than what it is actually worth.
