Who would do a 20"?
Frankly, I'm not even sure it would fit for HT either. I recall a few threads over at DIYAudio discussing it and the overall impression was not a good one...

Who would do a 20"?
Doing them up would sure be a gamble to say the least, as is for everything I'm doing here. Most certainly a fringe product.

what amp?
I would say anything that can produce ~600 watts of clean undistorted power would be fine. There are a lot of them out there...

Who would do a 20"?
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'm sure if there was, everyone would be selling one...

Who would do a 20"?
I have received samples in the past and personally feel they are over the edge. Heck, 18" units are too big for many. What's your take on something like this? Best, Mark

Mach 5 Audio Logo Competition
**** The Winner Is **** So my wife had quite a pile of entries to go through, and from what I understand, it wasn't easy. She has come up with one which will become our official logo for the website, advertising and everything else under the sun. ... And a big thanks to everyone for taking part in the contest. Congratulations to Adam - aka: BiNary!!! And here is the logo:

Hi Mark !
Agreed. Don't be such a darn stranger!

You would probably want to go with ~250-300 watts. The MJ-18 was able to take 225 watts at 20Hz without showing any real stress.

mli-65 ht box?
More like aperiodic - a bit of light stuffing in the hole.
-
mli-65 ht box?
Yes, a port without a tube.

Ported box fr mj-18
Sounds interesting. For four units you can go with 18 cubic feet with some light stuffing (R12 fibreglass for example) and tune to 28Hz. If you need to go smaller, you can trim down to 16 cubes and use thick (R20) stuffing around all walls and back of enclosure. Either way, it should get things moving quite well. Best, Mark

There has been much talk about it, but I have not come across anyone posting a finished project yet.

Hahaha! I like the props to the squirrel.

WTB mj 18
All I can say is throw up a post on ca.com to see if there are any folks who are willing to part with their units. Check Snoopdan to see if he still has his...

mli-65 ht box?
As per above, I would suggest at least 0.5 cubes per unit. Sealed, they seem restrained, but if you simply drill a hole in the back of the enclosure the midbass comes alive. I will be posting more info on this once I do the testing... Best, Mark

So... I ported the box!
Keep us posted on your numbers..

Diy Components
Justin, did you play with the xover frequencies on the MLI at all?
-
MAW 15 or mj 18
Both sound good, both go deep. The MJ will sweep more air so it can get louder at low frequencies. What amp(s) do you have?
-
Home Audio MAW-15
Since you had first hand experience with the MJ-18, why not go with those instead? You will sweep more air with them. Best, Mark
-
Which sub or subs
If you have the space, do the MJ's. You won't be disappointed. If you wish to upgrade in the future (doubt you will) there will be plenty of folks - from both car and home audio - who would be more than willing to buy them off you. Best, Mark

That's good to hear. Wish you would have mentioned it...

MAW-10
If you go to the webstore and create an account, you can get live shipping quotes without actually buying them. You can choose from Canada Post and UPS. Best, Mark
