alright new box will be done tomorrow and i have decided on the amp situation as well. running 2 jl 500/1 (one amp per sub) and a 300/4 on some jl mids and highs. obviously, im not going for spl lol just want a nice clean sounding setup

i had my 2 ssa zcon 12's getting 4300watts and they would get stanky after a few mins.... i also ran 1 ssa zcon 15 in 3.5 cubes @30hz on 2400watts and it never got stanky even after beating its brains out for 7 months lol strong ass subs

ya the tuning on the box sounds like its wayyy to high for my liking but until i build my new box, itll have to work

yes i am. 2.3 cubes and jl recommends 1.5 cubes. it sounds really go though so i aint to worried lol. no smelly coils yet

yes i know, i rigged the box up so i could run one 10 lol. dont worry, its sealed off good

alrighty, got a little update for you guys on my single jl w7 10 build in my truck. im now using a jl 500/1 (jl recommended) and one jl w7 10. since i can not sell the second w7, i think im going to use it. i have found a second jl 500/1 for a hell of a deal so i think im going to pick it up and run both subs. i am building a box for 1 w7 10 monday so once i get it in, ill post more pics anyways heres how the system looks now.... i will be posting all my updates here.

hmm, maybe turbo is going bad. idk if this thing has a egr or not, but i do know that since its a diesel, it smokes which clogs the egr and fucks with everything.... just a thought

Either will work, the 1000 will most likely be louder. In my opinion go with a different amp and save some cash, but you sound like you're not changing your mind. well i know jl is known for there quality and since i have the "famous" w7 (lol) i might as well get the amp that its matched with. i have the chance to get a 500/1 for a pretty good deal, or i can save a little and get a 1000/1

alrighty, im running one jl w7 10 in my truck in jls recommended encloseure (1.5cubes tuned to 32 hz) now my question is, what amp would be best? its 750-1000watts rms. i really wanted to stay all jl in my truck ( no im not a jl nut hugger, i honestly like ther products) im doing jl mids and highs on a 300/4, and i cant decide on a jl 500/1 or a jl 1000/1 for the sub. the videos on youtube of the 500/1 on a single w7 10 doesnt really seem to make it move muchas i know it can and the 1000/1 seems about right but i wanted to get other peoples opinion. so what yall think?

im only a first year apprentice so i dont make NO WHERE NEAR as much as the guys i work with do. but to be my first year out of highschool, i make bank compaired to anyone else i graduated with lol

Do your thing man! Be safe on that thing too. I've lost a few friends in motorcycle crashes, and a few that made it ended up with life changing injuries. Not trying to be a downer, just be safe and mature with it. yeah. iv been riding quads anad dirtbikes since i was 5 years old so i have a pretty good idea whats going on lol. i know they are dangerous as hell but im not in it to go fast or anything. i just like cruising on the back roads relaxing haha
