hey fellas, well i finally got around to taking the sub out of the box to get some pic's. the coild is darker than normal but i think its because of the glue that is used .only problem now is that my iphone wont send them to my email account. so if u want to see pic's. feel free to give me a text and ill be more than happy to send them to u becasue im worried this could be/is a potential problem. pm me for number. when i measuered the sub at the amp, it came to a 3.30-3.50 final load. my amp is 1500@1ohm, 1000@2ohm and 500@4ohm. so if anything its getting right at rms.

idk what all this square wave stuff is lol. but the amp is a new mtx 1501d elite series. i have the big 3 done and thats it. my voltage does dropp a little but nowhere near as much as when i had my hcca at 1 ohm pulling 1500 watts from my stock 95 amp alternator. if anything, i would have clipping there because its drawing so much power anf there wasnt much to take to begin with correct?

How the hell? Magic coils.... if he added another wired the same it would give him 2 ohm maybe his amp pushes 1000rms at 2 ohm ? OP: have you checked the subs coils with a dmm ? maybe its not a d2 or maybe its not wired correctly and you pushing more then u think to it The way he worded it it sounded like "well the 500 will be split between them so it'll be ok" my amp is 500@4ohm, 1000@2ohm and 1500@1ohm. i metered the sub at the amp and it read 3.30-3.50 so it has to be a dual 2 right???

i mean it sounds good. i had my buddy that owns/runs his own shop set all my settings on the amp. the box is 3.0CF tuned @???? haha. how can u tell if a sub is clipping????

hey yall, well i finally got around to checking the coils on the flatlyne 15 i picked up a few days ago. its a dual 2 running at 4 ohms to my amp. my amp (at 4 ohms) is 500 watts. the rms is 750 so y am i smelling the coils???? im adding a second 15 so them will both be getting 500watts which shouldnt be a problem. especially if i can smell them cookin at 500 on one sub. what do u all think. y is this???

i have had ALOT of experience with kicker subs. the 2 l7's will be louder. especially on a 1500.1 that is a very strong amp. i miss mine dearly. if u had a 15" cvx ported, id say it would be a tie. a cvx is a l7 but circle. there coild are the sam, magnets are the same. its just round. iv found that the l7's are louder (simpaly because there is more cone area) but the cvx has much more SQ. hope this help man. let me know if u have any questions.

my max depth i can go is 15. but i wanted a little extra room for my seats and room for mounting my amp. do u think like 13.50" would work?

here are the dimensions i came up with last night for a sealed box. 45"Wx26"Hx10"D as u can tell, i want to keep the box as shallow as possible. those dimensions come out to be 5.2CF befor displacement

there was actually a show schedualed in downtown cincinnati ( about 30 mins from me) but it was cancled

well idk how a ported box will turn out. iv only built two ported boxes beofr but i had EVERY single deminsion i needed. the boxes were for 2 12" mtx 9500's amd mtx gave me all the specs for there recommended enclosure. so therefor, it was rather easy. i dont have that for these. that y i was going to do sealed. they guy at my local audio shop said that if i give him my hcca 12, he will build me WHATEVER i want... but im need to sell the hcca so i can buy another IA flatlyne. unless i can find another deal on a flatlyne like i got lol.
