exactly, people just hate on a company because they perffer a different one, that doesnt make them bad just not for them, to me i like to hear them all and decide for myself what i like. SSA is my home for subage and really wish to hear there subs but until then dc is the best iv heard so far for me. around here people run kicker and mtx on the streets, this meet was my first and i got to hear something else besides my fi bl and i loved it. doesnt mean once i hear a ssa sub that ill be in love with them now haha , anyone wanna give me some demos of some badass zcon setups hehe

Ok so i had went to the meca show here in my town of bakersfield on saturday and wow!!! There had to of been over 200 show cars there and all of flex issues rides. The food was good, the ladies were lookin good, and the Dc audio was slammin!! Iv never heard dc before this and i had always wondered what the fuss was about but now i know. There was a suv there with 4 18s doin 155 and at the end of his run he had shaddered his windshield completely!! Then a little crx with 2 12" dc xls puttin in work like no other. All together it was an amazing show and i Had lots of fun.

Yes i bought a cig lighter volt meter and when my car is at idle it stays inbetween 12.7-13.2, when im dringing it will go up to 14v but no higher, its weird cuz when i turn on the ac it drops almost half a volt but when im playing my system at full tilt it doesnt drop at all, maybe its not accurate but idk, still not the voltage i want cuz when i stop at a light or something it will go down to 13v. I have a 70a alt which is very small and i just dont want to destroy it

Yea thats true a couple hundred wouldnt really matter to the ear, may be better to just do the 1000 x 2, I had a question about an alt also, right now i have a 70a alt on my 05 honda civic which is puny! im planning on getting a 180a dc power alt and was wondering, when i order one do i need anything else? does the alt come with everything you need to assemble, or do i need a belt, pully, any brackets? the 180 is the biggest dc makes for my car and i hope it will function properly in my little civic

i have thought of that but i have all the options for the bl so the power handling is probably increased a little bit. I am really taking to my bl now that it is working properly, thinking once i get the funds to get a h.o alt im going to add another bl to my setup

ok cool thanks thats what i thought, going to get the gain set up tonight and then it will be all tuned in and ready to listen too finally after 2 months lol Ok so it would be 2400 then find the square root of that which is about 47, so when i hook up my dmm keep all setting how i will have them turn h/u 3/4 then slowly turn gain up until i see about 47, thinking maybe put it at 45-46 to be on the safe side? Trying to keep my equipment for a good time without it blowing up

ok so it says times the rms of amp output by the speaker impedence. i have a dual 1 ohm sub thats wired at 2 ohms. so do i do 1200watts x 1ohm or 2ohms?

if i use a dmm what kinda numbers am i looking for, i know to turn h/u volume to 3/4 and then slowly turn gain up but when do i know when to stop with the dmm

Lol yes it actually sounds like a real subwoofer now without it being on input slave hahaha, just wish i could see if my gain is anywhere near where it should be but for now its pretty damn loud

Yes i have my lpf turned all the way up on amp and have my headunit set at 80hz, my subsonic filter is set to 30 and box is tuned to 33hz, the gain is half way up but it does sound really good, could prob go a lil more up but i dont like to set things right on the edge of not being safe

Cygnus didnt you already make this same exact post a few weeks ago and didnt we give you every option that would work with your amp? If you dont want to take anyones advise then why ask again? we went through this with you that a 12" sub would work alot better in a 2.5 cuft box then a 15 in a waay too small of a box. If your going to ask for help then take the advise that people give you. These people here at SSA are very knowledgable and will help you out as much as they can, as far as kicker and mtx, the subs they list for you will destroy them in any and every way. Keep that in mind and goodluck to you

Nah, im commenting on the "well, i never really heard them, but im sure you can get the same for less" Shit makes no sense. Well that is absolutly true, jl does overprice there stuff quite a bit, i used to run a 12w7 in a 2cuft ported box with 1300 watts going to it and it did sound very good and hit lows like a mother, but im sure the Fi Q does the same thing for half the price and many other subs. W7 is a great sub but it would be alot better if it were like 300-400 bucks. Yes i will never have anyone do work on my stereo again unless its me . really starting to take to the BL, just needa see if it hits the lows like i like because i LOVE my lows

haha yea i only got to hear it for a few minutes after i fixed that crap they did, i called them up today and told them they will never get my business again and how can they run a shop and not no anymore then a baby would about setting gains lol. So pretty much today i got a new bl and gonna see how it does in my civic, will post again when i come to a conclusion, Thanks SSA and everyone for showing me the right way to setup gains cuz if i never knew for myself i woulda left it how they had it and woulda had a blown sub within months.....or weeks!!

im pretty sure i finally figured out what was wrong with my bl and aq2200, i went to a stereo shop to have my amp wires installed and when i got out i noticed they had turned my bass boost all the way up the gain was all the way up the subsonic filter wasnt even on and the lpf was at like 120hz or so, so i fixed everything and it hardly had any bass at all, this reason was because i had just found out today that they had my input slave to on instead of to output master, these guys are fuckin idiots and it seems like they were trying to blow my subwoofer. now that i have it to the right settings it actually sounds really decent, going to listen to it more today and figure out if i just want to keep this or if i want more. All i know is i will never go to a stereo shop again period!

would love to know any status of the ssd's, most likely will be getting a pair when they come out

man i wish there were more shows in california, only shows around here are little ones put on by local stereo shops with a bunch of kickers and mtx haha
