If the picture was easier to read, I would pick it, but the wheels get the vote from me.
  2. and start on my car while you are at it
  3. Wow that sucks... No wonder I noticed a huge difference going to a PA 2250 from that hifonics. I think the raise in voltage would only be good for another 120 watts or so though. Unless he was doing 16 v. lol.
  4. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks man, it looks good now. I can see my PMS.
  5. How bout electron blue metallic? BTW, what kind of a home sub would have an rms of 1500 watts and be a dual 2 ohm woofer? Doesn't sound too practical in the HT environment, but I bet it will do great in the car. What will be the specs of your box? Is that woofer kind of like a tumult? Does it play low really good? I bet my 15 is louder Yours is definately just as sexy though
  6. Matt Sibley from baton rouge is goin. I think he just got his MT 18.
  7. I would make it go at least the width of the port before it turns. I made a box where it turned 1" into the box and it raised the tuning freq from 30 hz to around 40 hz. Pretty crazy stuff. It shouldn't matter where the end of the port faces, as long as its got the width of the port from the wall(ex. if the port is 4" wide, make sure it ends 4" before the wall)
  8. I would start off with 3.5 cubes before all displacement. Tune to 33ish and I would still do at least 40 square inches of port since you have the space. That is the size of the hole for the port. The length is probably gonna be around 30ish, just plug it into the formula and find out. With the JL port formula, you have to plug in lengths and you come out with the tuning frequency.
  9. Call me oldschool but I use the formula on www.jlaudio.com in the ports part of the tech section. Never did me wrong, plus its kind of a good thing to learn the formula so you don't have to bother with askin people to figure out a port length for you. Now about that volume situation. Is there any way you can squeeze out a little more volume? If not, just go with it. Do 40 square inches of port and tune to 35. If you go any lower, the port will take up too much volume. Once you figure out the port length, figure out how much that will displace, and if it is over .7 cubes, mess with it some more. You might have to put a little less port or a little higher tuning.
  10. Well, 400 bucks for a box is just obsurd. Also, if they work so well, why don't all of the SPL competitors use them? And building one is a real female dog to get that angle of the board perfectly right. I just say do a ported box w/ lots of port area and you should be good. Let me restate my above post also, That wasn't a snailshell for those 6.5s. It was some crazy huge box that almost nobody knows how to design. If you wanted one for a 12 it would be fhuge. You could probably do a blowthrough and fit it in the entire back end of a truck.
  11. Put me back to the regular one. The midnight blue one seems to have some errors in it.
  12. I changed my skin and now I cant change back. I also cant view my PM's. I can go to the inbox, but they just dont show up. Any suggestions?
  13. I don't know the exact workings of a snailshell box, but if you saw the video with the audiobahn 6.5s, its not the same thing. It is a form of ported box where the port goes diagnal and goes from big to small. I think they are a waste of money IMO. Just make your own ported box. It should be all you need.
  14. I am in the baton rouge area. When you get them hooked up I want to hear them.
  15. Sometimes "professionally" isn't always the best thing. There are a lot of shops that don't know what they are doing. Was there any bass boost on? Also, how far up were the gains? Hopefully you can send it back to JL to get reconed. If its under warranty just bring it back.
  16. I don't know how international marraiges work... She's already married to me though Whats this about burnin out? Thats different than gettin on it. Oh well those tires suck ass anyway. Remind me to tell you about my dream last night.
  17. Pretty good cd, just not something I would buy. I want to hear that murs album, maybe even the brother ali. They seem to have a good message in the 2 songs I've heard.
