where do u buy 20"+ aeroports?
Yeah, buy the flares, then buy a section of pipe. Lowes has a thin walled 4inch that will work. This is what I use.

being an annoying f*ck can definitely get you banned at SMD - now i see what happened. And yes you are full of dog shit because after david banned you initially, i PERSONALLY put it back because i saw nothing that he should have gotten THAT upset about. You continued to be annoying and broke the camels back with another mod, scratch that, ALL the mods have had it with you and the hammer fell. Apparantly you have a history of negative bullshit comments. I didnt see it but i trust the mods. Denim, please feel free to clean up this mess so we can get back on topic. We dont need to discuss this guys problems with my forum here. I never did get unbanned, not that I know of. He banned me, cussed me out, "promised" to punch me in the mouth. So where do you get I was banned again by mods who had enough of me? Me and chode had plenty of good arguments, but he never banned me. He delted the posts, because it wasn't stuff noobs needed to read about. Which was fair. No feelings was hurt and we went on about our business. But when people get all hurt over something I post on a forum is sad. Hell, when I supposedly being negative, everybody was in that Dr subwoofer thread, bashing that guy to death, and he couldn't even defend himself. Hell at least when I called bullshit to peoples post, at least they could reply. Yet I was a bad guy. So either your pulling shit out your ass saying you fix the problem when David banned me? Cause I never seen that. I posted one time after he replied and banned me, simply because I wasn't going to let him talk shit about me, even when I didn't nothing to provoke him. I even apologized for bringing up DAT because everybody got touchy. Denim, I don't mind you clearing this up, I just want to make sure I didn't waste my time replying.

I'm full of shit? I can have people vouch for me saying, people PM pricing everytime a product is brung up in a thread? You must don't READ. And a mod didn't ban me, David did. Because of DAT, well that was the "finale straw." I wasn't negative in most of my post, you just had fucking pansies who have low self esteem thinking I would hurt their feelings if they posted a stupid comment. Is that my fault I don't allow people to give up fasle info? And yet that's a bad thing? Your being just like David now. I never once said anything bad about you, him and DAT. Yet your saying I'm full of dogshit. Yeah, looks real good Steve. I talked shit about one company, and I stated a reason everytime I said something. Its MY OPINION, and I backed it up everytime. Its not like I pulled the shit out my ass. The shit was on video, printed on the website. I can't help they was total fucking idiots, and I was trying to help people out for pointing out flaws. My fucking bad. I aint bitching I got banned, quiet franky I don't care. Just stating facts, I stated my opinion on your site, even if it was negative, I got banned for it. But like I said, 99% of the time I gave a reason when I gave my opinion.

Steve Meade's Clipping Tool
Dear Mr. M5, This tool measures DISTORTION. Yes it takes a lot of power to build a real time analyzer to measure distortion. That is what it does, that is why it works. On top of that I did it in 100% analog. This is not a toy, don't kid yourself or lead other people to think it is especially when you didn't know. Tony D'Amore D'Amore Engineering Great step. Obviously my next question is what are you using to calculate distortion (ie which harmonics etc) and at what level you consider it clipping. Glad you took the time to come here, thanks. I apologize for sounding like I inferred it was a clipping indicator. Of course even if it works I still don't see the value in knowing you are clipping for those that aren't chasing tenths on a meter. without being confrontational or anything, can i ask you this.......do you think its good advice for someone to just turn the gain knob up and hope for the best? I actually think your last statement is ass-backwards because if i was chasing numbers, i wouldnt care about distortion and a little clipping would get you more power. Dirty power that your system can handle for a burp, but still more power. For a regular system, to set your gains properly you should use an O scope. This product is designed to replace the O scope (for gain setting purposes). How about I make this simple with a question, can you hear the difference between 900w and 1000w? you are incredible.... if anyone wants any REAL info, i will have more as the product continues to improve, before we even release it. i will also, like i said, send a few out to some REAL installers, even REAL backyard installers who like to do things right.... for beta testing. Of course there is always info on my site. I would be glad to keep SSA posted but it seems like this place is hostile lately. If you guys want, i can though. All questions, even with doubts, can be answered as long as your not a dickface about it. Is that such a hard thing to do? At least at this site, you can state your own opinion and disagree with somebody without getting banned, like over on your site... And over here you don't have 10 people trying to PM you pricing on a certain product every time its mentioned in a thread. As I'm not saying anything bad about your forum, just a few people there, and your admin. Who got pissed because I said the letters DAT, without saying ONE thing ever bad about them.

Opps. Didn't pay attention to you being dead set on the 360.3, my bad. I got the MS8 and couldn't be happier. I love the fact that I can setup multiple seating positions and toggle between them for demos. The Logic7 processing aint too shabby either. Cool beans wanting to learn and stuff. Cross over points and time delay go hand in hand from what I hear. No easy feat to master, so good luck. As for speaker selection. If you're hesitant about doing a full ranger and mid-bass you can go the route of a nice co-ax and mid-bass. That's what I did, and it seems to be working pretty well if I don't say so myself. I say go with something that has a nice silk dome tweeter. JL and Image Dynamics have some nice ones. If you're like me and want to go the cheap route there's Powerbass. Its cool man. I just already had a problem with people coming in giving opinion about equipment when I didn't ask for it. I get what you was pointing out, if I didn't know how to tune the MS-8 would be a good option. And I agree, but I like the 360.3 from what I read, so I'm going to try it. Now once I get it, it might be a different story. But nobody has one yet to review so I just have to wait.

Goooood question. I haven't looked at drivers much, I wanted to figure out which route before I got caught up on drivers. That will depend on mounting locations. The full ranger pretty much HAS to be on axis. The higher up the better. The fullrange will be on axis, on my A-Pillar, around dash height. One main reason is because I want a gauge pod, and at the bottom on the pillar is really the only option. That is if I go that route. I am thinking of buying one and playing around with it to see if I'll like it. Which I actually think I will. I need to start researching different drivers.
-
Zcon No Longer A ProtoType!!!!!!!!!
Similar idea, but different limitations. The AA is pretty much the top of the heap in terms of a driver for music that takes big power. This is exactly how I would describe it.

I'm not going to claim what I am about to type as proven FACT but it is merly my OPINION. As to the making nothing on SMD subs, and him paying the money and money for the gear he uses as giveaways......... I CALL HORSESHIT. Sorry but it just don't add up. I know there has to be a company or man behind the curtain here. And I mean besides Chicken. It just don't make sense. Don't get me wrong if it is actually him shelling it out of his OWN money not money from RF, DC Alts, or Chicken then cool. I just don't see it man. I really don't. J With the system of the month, when its sponsored by somebody, it is just that. I'm not sure if Steve pays for it or not. But I'm sure he has gave away his money before. But you got to think, he is making a good bit off youtube and I'm sure his forum is making him a good bit of money also. When he does a video for SOTM, I'm sure that one video will pay for the prizes. Its not like he isn't making anything from car audio.

Your probably right. I can't quiet explain exactly what I like. Its not the harshness/loudness of cheaper tweeters. That's way to loud.

Fi Subwoofer
I already answered your question. If you have doubts about the BTL and its capabilities, go with the Q. Simple.
-
Steve Meade's Clipping Tool
It WON'T work as advertised and as a tool isn't necessary. Understanding of resolution and uncertainty in measurement really alludes car audio I guess. :( :( I expect that at SMD, but not here. I see your point. Like I said the concept is neat.

People just give up posting in this thread. If you give a suggestion, he still asks the same question over and over.

Twisted's New BIG Amp
ford302redneck replied to twistedchild420's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalI'm interested in the company. Twisted will you be a dear and PM me? I might have something to say. A little you give me and I'll give you.

I can't stand a bullet. Even though I've heard a properly setup one, and it wasn't bad. But thoses can get WAY to loud, and WAY to harsh. I just like a little louder than normal higher end, but I'm sure my tastes will eventually wonder away from that.

There is a reason I built full rangers for my office for on axis music listening. As of the options I listed, I liked the fullrange on axis. Just disliked not having a tweeter. I'd really like to hear a set. It would be rather budget friendly, shouldn't be to hard to tune. Soooo.
-
I want SQ Part II
J-roadtatts- I'm really thinking of the full range and a 8inch mid bass. That's why I listed as a option, seems it could do pretty much what I wanted, minus having the sound of a tweeter I like at times(mostly when I listen to rap) but I am finding myself slowly growing away from rap and a loud tweeter. So this could be a solid option. Onebadmonte- do you not know what the 360.3 does? I haven't priced the Audison, but I'm sure it costs more than RF. I've looked at the JBL but its almost all most al auto with no user tuning. I might not know exactly how, but that doesn't mean I don't want to learn. I rather know how to set up everything, learning while I'm doing it. Then do all this and still be clueless how it works. And can't do it without having a DSP do everything for me. The new 360 will have a autotune, and built in RTA. But with the option to fully manually tune via computer. Instead of having a external controller. This pretty much fits everything I want/need. And I just made a post stating processor wasn't up for debate, and you still give a suggestion that I didn't need. I am planning on researching the bitTen, I'm not sure exactly what its about yet. But I'm sure for the price, I can get a 360.

Thank you for pointing that out. See people recommending me a unit that wouldn't even benefit me. This is my point, people always give advise that isn't asked for, and not thinking I haven't thought of it. Before I made this thread I researched and thought long and hard about this, and wanted opinions on which route should I start with first. I'm thinking simple and budget friendly. But if its a complete waste of time, I need to know. I'm not quiet sure what it exactly takes to achieve what I want. If somebody told me a simple 2way with hardly any processing can give the image I want. I need to know. But regardless I think I'm going to need time alignment. Since my right side is a good bit of distance from me then my left side. And now its like I'm hearing a echo, and its driving me crazy.

I want SQ Part II
Yes I read it. Two options besides a different placement and if you used neither then your subjective idea of what you have is so biased you don't even see it. 3 way passive is not ever a good option IMO. *exception being of course when the passive is designed in situ* Problem being you can't isolate just one thing, the system is what is important and it is rarely the sum of the pieces. Complete goals are always easier to address. That being said, depending on the timeframe before you go to a real processor I would completely have different recommendations. See this is the kind of questions/advise I want to hear. Not, go with a active headunit, go with a cheaper amp, or whatever. If I want opinions on products, I would of asked. I want opinions on different setups for my overall goal. And I'm not 100% how long it will be before I get a processor. Its possible I might even buy it first. But it will be at least July before I can think of ordering it. I'm pretty convinced to go with the 360.3, this really isn't up for discussion. I want almost all the features it has. I know I don't need something of this magnitude just for 3-way active. I'm trying to figure out which move to make first. If I should start with kicks passive, work myself up to active. And then if I'm not happy go with my real dream.

Shopping at American Eagle...
I use to follow GNC Motocross Nationals when I was a youngin. My setp dad and his brother raced a good bit, one year went to almost every national. That's the reason I wore fox then next thing I know it got cool. And now its just another brand. Nothing to do with racing. Just like DC has nothing to do with skating. I do like the idea of Ken Blocks Rally collection, plus its got Ford emblems everywhere. Its all marketing, and they are doing a damn good job of it.

Shopping at American Eagle...
haha...you hit it right on the nail. Thats my first CA forum and I learned most of the stuff I know from that forum, so I guess I'll always remain loyal to them. Ill give you that. Not all shirts' designs "all that" anymore I didnt wear their stuff in '02 so I cant really speak on that..I was only 7 years old haha Ikr, Im insanely picky too Everyone needs nice clothes, no matter what/who they are You damn youngin. I think they quit with the designs in 03 or 04. And it just went down hill from there. I actually started wearing, Volcomb, QuickSilver, Fox and such. It wasn't really popular like it is now. I still rock skate shoes. I had a pair of Rob Dydrek sig shoes back in 03, they has been my all time favorite looking shoes. I wish he would retro it, so I could grab a few pair for the future. I've always like Van Rowleys too, that's almost the only Vans I'll wear. I can't even wear a pair of Nikes or such because of how narrow the shoe looks. But learning on SMD is like being in the slow class, even if your the smartest one, your still slow. No offense to anybody.

I want SQ Part II
Because I didn't ask opinions on amps or headunits. I asked about placement and different driver setups. And wondered if I needed to start slow, with a simple 2-way passive, or not. And I did listen to M5, and if you says I need go 2-way route, its probably what I'm going to do. He's not the only one telling me this. My mind is made up on the options I have. Unless somebody has a better idea. But telling me to buy a new headunit and a cheaper amp isn't giving me advise. I'm aware of active headunits.

If he doesn't care about money, tell him to quit putting videos on youtube. He makes more off youtube than a good many make in a year. I'm not saying that's the only reason he makes videos, because he's been doing that years before youtube became popular. But I'm sure him making money has a effect on the importances.
