Yes, the 8" Basket will have issues with a 3" coil. Also, It spider limitations also, eliminate this from happening as well. 2.5" Coil is plenty for a 8" woofer anyways. Nobody really needs a 1000rms 8.

Why not try 12" Q in 2.5 cuft box? I tried 2cuft and 2.5 and noticed a big difference in spl, and how low it got.

It had a nice street racing career in late 90s. With some gas sprayed from time to time. Ive had to do some minor stuff to it. The pickup in the distributor was about the worst, that I can think of.
