Is fi audio going to make a new more power full subwoofer that is chea
While we can make subs for "daily" that take that sort of power (pulling from industrial tech we have) there is such a small market for items like that making it simply impossible to be profitable from it. Not too mention it would mean that we release tech that simply has more value in military and industrial applications than it ever will in car audio. No reason to put all the cards down on the table at this point... especially considering we are dropping the Supergauss tech in a new AA sub as well as in another car audio OEM clients products. But... still holding onto SupergaussII and SupergaussIII for a while longer Thanks, Scott

RE XXX Recone Kits
Kits for that sub are now up on the "other recone" portion of the site. We played it safe in not using the original company names and series designations for the recones (but its easy enough to figure out). We will be adding quite a few more kits when we have time to code things up.

How I can buy production FI? Who is the dealer in the USA?
It is difficult to gauge what day things will arrive on as all subs are built in a 3-7 business day (M-F) window and then adding UPS ground ship time to that. Making an assumption from the OPs post, are you coming to the states and want a driver delivered to you during that time period?

Introducing Supergauss
We are keeping very true to form and popping up with something brand new to the industry with no forum buzz or hype. Allow me to introduce the new power house in motor technology known very simply and only as Supergauss; A radical new take on ultra high Gauss motors. We’ll start off with a little bit of background information about the development of this technology. This is the first generation of Supergauss motor technology and was developed and licensed specifically for industrial applications. After the termination of the two-year contract with our clients and them phasing out of Supergauss I and into Supergauss II and III, we are now offering Supergauss I to the Car Audio market. Pictured above is the Patent Pending Supergauss technology that we’ve transformed into the car audio scene. This very unique design and specific arrangement of steel and ferrite results in a one of a kind ultra high gauss motor. We’ve been testing the past few months and we feel that this will be a great addition to the Ascendant Audio product lineup and should prove very potent in the SPL and extreme daily driving arenas. Our first product to be featuring this technology will be the new SMD Series of subwoofers (making a radical departure from the original design we had intended for the SMD and as previously pictured). With 40-60% more motor strength in Supergauss motor structure vs the same parts count in a conventional arrangement, Supergauss will be shrinking conventional motor structures or greatly extending the flux densities for SPL applications. Stay tuned for more info

BTL Lead Time!
I will check tomorrow on yours. As it sits right now all orders placed during the back order period will be shipped no later than tomorrow (to the best of my knowledge). We have been working double shifts and on Saturday to get things done. We have 52 subs from after Fridays last UPS pickup and work done on Sat that will ship plus the last 40 or so that will be finished tomorrow. UPS is a PITA in that they put a date on the order based off of processing and not the actual pick up. We can do nothing about it and simply cant/wont change the way we process orders to try and do it on the day that it ships. We work right up to the last second in getting subs out for the last UPS and there is no way of knowing if it will make it until its on the truck for the day. Doing them ahead of time allows for several workers to check the order, tickets, and build list along the way to ensure that all are correct. Rushing tickets at the last minute will only result in errors in shipping... and I surely dont like explaining why your sub is shipped to the wrong address or has the wrong options on it. Nor do I like paying double shipping to get the 70+ pound package back and to the right info. Thanks, Scott

Fi Q box design too small?
Should work fine. Smaller just pushes the enclosures resonance up a little higher. With 1.8 cuft tuned to 33Hz, it will push the peak up closer to 39Hz. In car with the vehicles transfer function it will still perform great down to 30Hz (where you should have the subsonic set). If you went up to 2.2 cuft your same tuning, it would be at about 26Hz for the peak. Slightly higher (about .5 dB) efficiency as well. All in all it should perform fine for a solid daily driving setup. Thanks, Scott

Fi Q 12" Sub
Advantage is extra cooling and mechanical durability. Disadvantage, slight loss in SQ vs standard sub. For those that need the extra power handling, the change in SQ in a ported application is really negligible. For SQ purists, standard version and power handling should be more than enough. If amp makes power into 2 Ohm mono... you would need a Dual 1 Ohm coil. Wired in series it will yield the proper single 2 Ohm load for the amp. Thanks, Scott

Uhmmm... Whats the deal??
Made the coil change for you and sent an email yesterday. We have you covered Thanks, Scott

BTL Lead Time!
Down to about 10 days before we start shipping again based off of the dates that the subs were ordered. We will contact everyone (that hasnt already been contacted) about your shirt size before the subs ship. Thanks, Scott

How can I get in touch with Fi
You can send it to: Fi Car Audio Attn: Repair 5480 Cameron St #108 Las Vegas NV 89118 Please be sure to include a sheet of paper with your name, address, phone, and email on it with the sub. We will contact you with the total including return shipping. Normally takes 3-7 business days for recones. Payments can be made before it ships back (if paypal or credit/debit card). If by check or money order, payment needs to be in advance for clearance and you can let us know your zip code so we can get you the exact quote. Thanks, Scott

15 inch SSD Sealed (will it work)
As Nick mentioned... 2 cuft after driver with the copper coils works well. Slightly larger enclosures are needed with the standard coils... 2.5-3 depending on the power you have. thanks, Scott

Recone kit i orderd, no confirmation, no shipment tracking, no email r
We received payment and order at 4:34 PM on Friday. We did not process the order until Tuesday (as Monday was a Holiday). An email was sent to you from UPS on Tuesday with the tracking information for the recone. This email was sent to the paypal email address provided. I will have them reforward it to the same address for you. It normally takes 3-7 business days for us to assemble a recone kit. Considering that it was after 4:30 on Friday, and Monday is a holiday, the fact that the kit will be shipping out today is fairly quick. Please let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks, Scott

Wat amp to get
Depending on the options you have selected, we recommend from 1000-2000W. As for what exact amp... thats more personal preference than anything.

Topic 4000...
In reference to ScottXGTRs question "of those 4000 topics, how many are "A vs B" threads " meaning, that the answer would lie somewhere between 3 and 4000 topics... which would actually make a good question for a contest (although I surely wouldnt want to count them to know the answer). Thanks, Scott

Peterborough Modified Nationals 2009 UK
Pezzaboi thanks for the nod in from the UK. Things are ramping up there fast. BILTD, less typing more sanding

Topic 4000...
OK... given that this is our 4000th topic (after the crash of 2008...lol), I felt it would be a good time to introduce some of our new giveaways and contests. We will edit this post with our daily schedule for free promo items with orders (like T-Shirt Tuesdays... first dozen sub orders get free t-shirts...) We will also announce weekly contests for products as well. Adding the new apparel warehouse, we are greatly expanding POP items and our promo capabilities. And as usual... we would like to pass it along to our customers. Updates tomorrow... Thanks, Scott

More to come from that thing. Chris just added more power to the subs... its meaner than ever. But no where near done yet. Chris might have more info on his site at www.missinglinkaudio.com as well. Thanks, Scott

power ratings
I know those amps well in regards to BTLs... how were things setup? Run them in high voltage over high current. What do you have electrical wise to power it? If you have both amps, I would run them. Not an issue with the pair, but you will simply have lots of clean headroom for transients. With things to 11, and the settings up, I could see it being a problem quickly.. but if dialed correctly, I could see it working fine. There is no need for that much power to them, but since you have it. One concern is that it was louder with 1 amp vs 2... I definitely want to know what the voltage was sitting at under those conditions. That one normally doesnt add up even with compression coming into play. Thanks, Scott

Q 10 vs 12, and other questions, amp etc
Hard to beat that deal. Im sure youll be very happy with the setup. Thanks, Scott

Fi Q 12" Review
I think Chris moved the Q to his HT setup and has a larger setup with Havocs in it now. Thanks, Scott
