  1. No specs on them yet. Nothing to do with the ultra from TC, nor will it be the least bit HT oriented... its a natural progression from the BTL and Mayhem trying to keep up with the ever increasing power that people want to run for daily driving. Just thermally and mechanically more stable overall. Thanks, Scott
  2. The original extreme lead option was heavy wire (as used in the BTLs). We added this as an option for the people wanting to use the BLs for SPL high current applications where the standard lead has too much resistance and could be an issue. It was not intended for daily. BUT, since we switched to the integrated lead setup, then extreme lead option simply adds an extra set of wires to the mix. No issue for daily whatsoever and just increases the current carrying load. Nothing detrimental by any means. Thanks, Scott
  3. Thanks for the tests and evaluation. Seems to hold about true in most applications. The Q with BP is a little more robust of a driver (both mechanically and thermally) with a slight SQ deficit vs the Havoc. Standard Q vs Havoc is closer SQ wise, with the Havoc having the slightest edge thermally vs the stock Q. Not quite as worried about not being the exact same alignment as they do fall fairly close alignment wise and well within our recommendations. To me it is a little more of a real world test than going with optimally matched alignments... doing this test with some drivers results in enclosures much larger than normally seen in autosound environments... which also yields an unfair advantage in things (fact of the matter that enclosure size matters in cramped cars). Again, thanks for the time and effort to do this Scott
  4. I highly doubt I will ever offer colored baskets unless we set up a powder coating operation in house. We do have black baskets as a standardly stocked item and might entertain adding those in the future. But for now this is really the only cosmetic type thing we will offer. The carbon fiber and brushed aluminum are just the logos and are not "real" carbon fiber or aluminum. I do have samples for both that would work on the SSD and Q (without the BP) but not for anything without a pole vent or a blocked vent as there simply is too much back pressure and they cant handle the abuse as well as the standard cap. White is still standard. The CF and brushed aluminum will be up shortly. Thanks, Scott
  5. Been a busy few weeks. And to be honest, I dont check my PMs regualrly. I will try to go through them today as well as catch up on all the emails since last Wednesday when I started in with meetings and CES stuff. By next week things should get back to normal. Sorry... Scott
  6. Only thing we can use the SSD motor on the 22" for is the IB series. Simply not enough motor strength to push the moving mass of a 22" cone with any sort of specs that would fall in line with the rest of the SSD series. Like Nick mentioned, more for a sense of scale than anything. We are still looking at what we will be able to strap that basket too in the current lineup. Most likely only the BL and BTL. Even the Q wouldnt have enough push behind it for the moving mass. 2 changes to be made to the current tooling as things were a little thin. Hopefully we will have another sample before CNY and things close down over there for a couple of weeks. We are still waiting for the surround and gasket samples. Im also up in the air on cones. We have made a tool for making composite cones in house, but I dont want the expense on something like an IB3 series driver (which the IB crowd for HT as shown great interest in). We might simply have to tool a paper cone to fill out the lineup with a more cost conscious alternative. The laser is used to measure displacement (in and out) in order to correlate t/s parameters vs excursion and frequency. Its our "poor mans" Klippel that actually has features that the standard Klippel does not like scanning vibrometry. That is a totally separate system for the Klippel and about doubles the cost of an already pricey system. The rotary table for it is separate and only holds up to an 8" driver. No need to measure larger drivers right now (unless they are full range units) and when that time comes I will simply make a new rotary holder as well as a longer linear stage for the laser. For subs the cones should be acting pistonically in the operating range, so modes arent an issue no need to measure them. I could measure the surrounds to see at what frequencies and excursions things start to operate a little wacky at... but I doubt Ill find the time for that anytime soon. Bottom of the rig is the rack mounted dual computer system that controls the laser and measurement systems. Still more things to work through, but its serving us well so far Thanks, Scott
  7. Some of the colors (no white or silver as well... you should know what white and silver look like ) We will be adding "carbon fiber" and brushed aluminum shortly as well. Thanks, Scott
  8. Accessories will be added when we get things finished. Noobtastic14... dont have time for BS, lol. It always comes back to bite you on the net. Plenty of vaporware by others to go around Getting all the colors laid out now. Ill take a pic later and post it. Need to go pick Nick up from the airport in a few. Hes in for CES, although Im trying to avoid that show like the plague. One nice thing about being in LV for CES is that people just come by the office for meetings. Ill get Nick to take a pic and post it tonight then. Working on the mouseover for things for the site to check colors. Thanks, Scott
  9. Yep, we can machine for the Neos to 12 spoke still. As for the 10" spiders. We have a few of them in now and are tooling another version of them for 3" coils as well. Biggest issue at this point is that I dont have standard coils with formers long enough for the "Eclipse/TC" style baskets. But thats changing too since I will be using those since we bought the patent for them. 10" spider spacers are on the way as well. Thanks, Scott
  10. Send that thing back in ASAP! Fi Car Audio Attn: Warranty Dept 5480 Cameron St #108 Las Vegas NV 89118 Please be sure to include a sheet of paper with your name, address, email, and phone on it as well as what coil was in it (D1 D2). We will get it taken care of ASAP. Thanks, Scott
  11. Do it do it! Ive got my own conclusions from testing and from dealers and customers that have use with both. But none of which have ever been posted. Havoc is considered AAs sound quality driver. The fact that it takes decent power and can be pushed to be loud is a plus in most dealers books. For most dealers having a dainty pure SQ sub just doesnt sell... the Havocs definitely do Thanks, Scott
  12. What are they going on? Want to make sure our pattern fits.
  13. MLA is a great unit. My Jeep thanks me for it If it is a correct plug in replacement for the stock alt (modified or not) the module will run it fine. Even with a stock alt the difference is huge especially using AGM batteries. Mine simply wasnt keeping up with the demands and the battery was never charged to capacity. After module things really came alive and I have way more power for audio and accessories. Battery rests much higher now too. Rolling BTLs back out the door starting to day from orders placed on the 27th forward. Holidays for the people that placed orders before the 31st really keep us "on time" still... 3-7 business days. Thanks, Scott
  14. No kidding... been a wee bit on the busy side of things. No complaints at being busy as thats a solvable problem... vs what a good chunk of the US is dealing with
  15. I know the SEs well, lol. They are a solid sub within their limits. The SSD is definitely more of a sub than the SE in all aspects, but for $300 a pair its hard to beat. Since I sold RE I know they moved SE production to China so I cant comment on the parts used now, but I do like the design Thanks, Scott
  16. Hate to say it... but thats a bad thing. Was any music coming out when this was happening? Definitely not something that should happen as quick as it sounds... unless things were wired out of phase. What amp?
  17. Lol... yeah I never figured we would do so much in the way of clothing. Ill pop up new shirts tomorrow and we are working on 4 more right now too. Stickers will be up ASAP. nmssd12... I wish I could spend more time here. Im grateful when I get a chance to stop by. Past few weeks have been very busy (and short with the holidays) leading up to CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas. I had to get several protos done for companies to show there and I only have one left to get done by the end of tomorrow for the opening on Thurs... then its meetings the next 4 days. Be SO glad when things get back to normal and I can focus more on the companies and business I already have and getting back to work on the protos for a new venture. Just really grateful to have so many good people behind me and Fi that help take care of the forums when I cant. Thanks, Scott
  18. None really. The Q is somewhat similar in linearity to the older XXX, although distinctly different sounds between the sterile XBL enable XXX and the fuller sounding Q. Initially we had several people swap and do write ups on it. Thanks, Scott
  19. Mark, Hush it. Ill have pics shortly
  20. Logos the same font and size... just a color change. We will have a "sample" shot of dustcaps with all the colors up here shortly. More shirt styles to go up tonight as well. Larger sticker options as well... Waiting for belt material to come in and we will have CNC buckles with the Fi logo as well. Never figured that the accessories side of things would sell as much as it does. Hats to be finalized this week as well as beanies too. Thanks, Scott
  21. Just added a new option of colored logos for the dustcaps. We are working on adding the stickers as well and will have them in 4", 12", 24, and 36" as well as thinner windshield banners. Should have them up in a week or two (with more shirt styles as well). Thanks, Scott
  22. Definitely hit the pocket book hard with the new motor for us. A single new magnet costs more than 3 times all three of the older version magnets combined. But, we did get a little gain out of things as well as hit the mark with a rather distinct looking motor. I was simply tired of being another triple stack 220mm motor on the market. Yes we do things differently, but stacked side by side to the dozen others... who cares. Being that we move significantly more BTLs than we originally did when the line started, we are able to eat the $$$ loss and bring a better product to market. Oh, and yes, there is quite a bit more steel in these as well adding to the overall cost. In many high excursion applications it is cheaper to stack magnets than to use steel for spacing. Thanks, Scott
  23. Just added a new option to the SSD, Q, BL, and BTL lineup with colored logos for the dustcaps. Currently we have white, silver, blue, ice blue, red, yellow, green, and burgundy. We will be adding brushed aluminum and carbon fiber next week to the color list. Ill get the web designer to forward the color chart he is doing for the tech section and post it here as well. Just another way to add a your custom touch to the Fi lineup. Some of the colors (no white or silver as well... you should know what white and silver look like ) We will be adding "carbon fiber" and brushed aluminum shortly as well. Thanks, Scott
  24. SSD is much closer to the SX in terms of motor. SE is a decent drop in motor strength and a smaller OD. SSD with flatwind is very similar to the SX. SSD with the copper coil is very akin to the older HC model in sound. Thanks, Scott
  25. Please contact Am at BladeICE UK ([email protected]) or www.bladeice.com They are our EU rep for both Fi and AA products and put you in touch with the distributor for Sweden. Thanks, Scott
