New AA SMD Woofer
No, we have nothing to do with TC or Audiopulse. My understanding is that TC and Audiopulse are both owned by the same people and that TC doesnt operate in the same capacity it used to. I had purchased the patent and rights to the 6 spoke versions of that basket at auction a few months back and will be using it solely for AA and one other OEM company we build for. We are currently tooling a 6 spoke version of a 10" and 12" as well to fall under our patent. The previous 10" and 12" are under a separate patent for 4 spokes. We had no interest in purchasing that one as we feel that the 6 spoke is far stronger for the larger applications that we will use it for. In regards to the new SMD Series sub for AA there are a couple of changes being made for production. The main two are the suspension integration and the magnets. While the OD will be the same size, they are actually 6mm taller per magnet (gaining almost 1/2" more height for the pair). Also, the magnet boot has been tooled for this double stack vs the current shorter stack. The design itself is a natural progression of what we have learned with the BTL and Mayhems. While it does not vastly improve on overall excursion, we have seen that to be far less a concern than increased thermal ability and mechanical power handling. Overall just a tougher package. Now back to SEMA and dealers Thanks, Scott

Please reassure me, Scott, Nick or Shawn
Should be good to go tomorrow. Ill forward you the tracker when it does. Thanks, Scott

btl
TS params definitely dont lend themselves to sealed. Exceedingly poor performance in that application. I do have them and we are updating things on the site over the next 2 weeks. We will get them up as well as the tech section, gallery, more apparel, and new line info for the IB and a 12" lower powered SQish driver. Thanks, Scott

Random Question
Yeah, my 3 year old (at the time) named the BL for his favorite cartoon... lol

Btl recone.
Let me know your zipcode and I can get you a quote. Thanks, Scott

Can FI build this?
Hmmm... can you offset mount the 10"? Push it so one side of the surrond is on the edge and the other side overlaps closer to the back seat? Easy enough to do with the baffles... magnets are small, so no issue there (just deep). Thanks, Scott

No we just moved from that warehouse to another in the same complex. I know the guy thats now in that space so he normally forwards anything that goes there to us. What shipper did you use, and do you have a tracker for it? We will find it and get it checked out ASAP. Thanks, Scott .... our fault as we are working on the new site and havent updated the address on the old site. All dealers got the info, but not customers.

Whats your zipcode? Thanks, Scott

What happen to the BL's ?
Most people assume that they are the same... while they do have similar goals, they do have two distinct characteristics to them. Cant say which is "better" as it is really relative to the application and personal taste. I know dealers are eating up the Havocs as they have found them to be a W7 alternative with better margins and performance (their words not mine ) No such info on the Qs as they are a direct only item. Although dozens of first place trophies and 9.5-10 performance scores in IASACA SQ finals cant hurt the cause either. Thanks, Scott

IB specific line? Do tell.
SSD line will have option in the next couple of days. Single 2 Ohm first and dual 2 after that (waiting on coils). No cost option. Then we will have a smaller 2" coiled line in 10" 12" and 15". Single 2 right now and dual 2 after that... Ill get some info up here in a day or two. Its based off of drivers we have been doing for a little over a year for the Home audio and IB specific markets, but I have seen quite a bit of IB inquiries for cars recently and seems its about time to just get it on the site vs a word of mouth thing on tweeky forums. I have always enjoyed IB applications and had a couple in different vehicles over the years (proper IB setups). Last one was in my wifes car with (2)15"RE SE drivers that I modded. Sounded phenominal... and allowed us to still stuff the trunk full of whatever. Thanks, Scott

Let me see which tech did it and see if they can recall what happened to it... Back in a few.

btl question
Lol... thanks. Business has grown far beyond what I really intended. With 3 companies and a 4th one in the works (different industry altogether although its something I want to do because of the machining ability we have) Im definitely strapped for time (and family comes first too). But hopefully thatll be changing... seems to be so far Thanks, Scott

Idiot here poked a hole through the rubber surround.
Does it have any coil options? Let me know your zipcode and Ill get you a quote. But in all honesty if you dont mind the cosmetics and if the glue was done right it should last a long time. Saves $$$ if you can deal with it. Otherwise I can quote anyway just so you can compare options. Thanks, Scott

Can FI build this?
Pmd back. Talk to you tomorrow.

Sent a sub in to be reconed over a year ago...
No charge on this one of course... but I havent been able to find anything cosmetically appealing to cover the front with. If you really dont mind, Im sure I can make something thatll work and we will make it look as good as possible... just not a normal shape to work with. Thanks, Scott

Crossfire XT recone
What I had down in notes... just wasnt at the office when I was talking to Nick. 18" basket is on and the coil pack is being worked on. Couple of days and itll be on its way (after taking a trip around the US). Thanks, Scott

Can FI build this?
Get me the Ohm load and I can see what we can get together for the app. Thanks, Scott

What happen to the BL's ?
Should work fine on that. While it probably wont push things to its limits thermally (or mechanically if set up correct) it should lead a happy life in the proper box. Thanks, Scott

2000 Watts enough for Fi Q 18
Im a fan of running way more power than what I will ever use simply for headroom. BUT... most people run every single Watt out of their amps, then turn it to 11 on all the knobs. In that regard I say stick to the ratings. If you understand how to properly set up a system with respect to the enclosure, system voltage/amperage, gains, filtering (especially subsonic in ported) then running more than the rated RMS is rarely an issue if used for dynamic headroom. Thanks, Scott

Encosure Question
Yes, smaller helps mechanically, but at the expense of efficiency near tuning. How much? Well it depends... If you are really hard on stuff and beat up on it lots, smaller is better. As with all ported enclosures, pay plenty of attention to the subsonic filter settings vs tuning. Thanks, Scott

Help please with picking new subs
Definitely has the space for a pair of 15s. We have a few people running that combo and no one has blown anything at all... With a 40.1 per sub, you definitely need to have things set up correctly. Much easier to do some damage by an improper filter setting...

Box for 2 18" Btl's
Looks like you are trying to wall off behind the seats? Plenty of space if thats the case. Will you be riding around with the back seats down most of the time? Thanks, Scott

Email delays..
Getting back up on emails with the addition of a new office manager... allows me more time to hop on the forum as well. Thanks, Scott

new box time need some advice
We normally recommend 1.8-2.5 cuft for the BTLs and 33 Hz for a deep daily tuning. You can tune higher for increased output, but at the expense of some of the bottom end. Given that the amp is supposed to do 2400W (not sure if thats true or not) Id stick to middle of the road at 2.2 cuft after port and driver and tune to 33Hz. Make sure you subsonic filter is set at 30Hz to keep things from going crazy when the port unloads below tuning. Thanks, Scott

FI Q10 Questions
Heard nothing but positive comments on the enclosures so far. Quite a few using the SSDs and Qs in them with excellent results. While the enclosure is a little on the large side for most customers tastes, I do prefer a lower qts alignment and think it would sound fine. Thanks, Scott
