  1. Magnet is the same OD as the cut out of the 12". You have to put things through at an angle to clear the wires. Dwarfs a 10" basket... and no, I wont be making any of those for people to reverse mount
  2. Alex, spoke with you yesterday. Should have trackers to you tomorrow. Thanks, Scott
  3. (2)12s is usually louder than a single 15. Cone area is 960cm^2 vs 810 with the single 15". I only take subs from customers and recone/sell them to pay for my lavish monthly surfing vacations to Fiji I went last week, so Im figuring that the chances are you will get your sub reconed and back... now if you wait a couple of weeks all bets are off (please read with massive amounts of sarcasm). I am a huge fan of the forums and net policing the actions of companys (well those that are honest enough to keep the posts up and not hide every little issue they may have). If we do something wrong Im sure itll get posted before we even know we did it. Should keep everyone on their toes and ensure that we always strive to keep people happy. Your recone will be safe with us. Thanks, Scott
  4. We are working on collecting all the coils and data for Crossfires older subs. Seems that we do quite a few recones for them lately.
  5. Looks a wee bit more brutal with the roof flex than that... but solid score for a pair of SSDs for daily. Keep us posted.
  6. Fi Car Audio replied to juanl's topic in General Fi
$232.60 for the pair of kits shipped. If the baskets are fine, no need for new ones. Simply grind off the old parts so that you have a smooth all aluminum base to glue to. Thanks, Scott
  7. $65 plus shipping. Thanks, Scott
  8. Dont have mass ship dates, although things do tend to bunch up some when if we lump some machine parts runs together to save tooling setup time. We have product shipping out everyday, but it does seem that about Thursday we dump 2-3 times what we do the other days. Often amounts to all of late Fri, Sat, and Sun orders going out with some of the earlier ones... Not sure of your name so I cant get you a tracker. Thanks, Scott
  9. Quick back shot of the new BTL vs the last model. LOTS more steel and a couple extra inches in magnet diameter. New motor has more strength with the full cooling, daily, and universal options than the older version did in full SPL tolerence. Rebate on the back of the new motor is for a 3.5" Fi dome tag to cover the bolt as well as give it a little "pizzazz" More pics to come when I get some time.
  10. Next issue is the subsonic filter being preset on that amp to 28Hz and a shallow 12dB per octave... fine if you are tuned 30 Hz or lower, but I would recommend adding more filtering if tuned any higher. Playing freqs below tuning is a bad thing We recommend 12-16 sqin of port per cuft. With 4X14.5 you are just a little over 16" which is plenty good. Thanks, Scott
  11. Ohms will fluctuate if there is any breeze or even a stereo playing... sympathetic vibrations set things in motion and it goes from DC resistence to AC impedence. When you pull the sub look through the vents to see if the coil looks burnt or smells it. ZX1500.1 is a strong amp and is rated at a fair amount more than the Q. We will get it sorted one way or another. Thanks, Scott
  12. We used a 3.000 ID coil with a max OD of 3.254". I do have a .7, 1.0, and 1.4 that work in the MT gaps properly. These are all smaller than any of the BTL or BL flatwinds we use though. None of our Fi flatwinds will fit in the MT gaps. Thanks, Scott
  13. You would be surprised in what applications/situations BTLs are being used We have an SQ setup that people swear are Qs and can get ungodly loud, but arent and we simply smile about it... New motors have more strength to them, and while that doesnt inherently reduce SQ, it does seem to add a little snappyness to things (not that the first version was lacking for dynamics or head cracking upper bass either). Time will tell... but I swear that if people didnt know that they were used in more applications, they would figure it to be more SQ oriented than it has been given credit for. I have to go into work early tomorrow and if I can remember my camera Ill snap off a back shot to give a sense of scale between the new and old Thanks, Scott
  14. Opening the trunk does unload things, but I am questioning the tuning if you are having that much of an issue with that setup. How are the subs oriented??? Are they firing up into the trunk lid? If so this often loads things drastically different and can really change the tuning as well... Keep us all posted. Thanks, Scott
  15. Its an extra 1" over the standard dimensions on the site... New BTL is actually shallower than the 3 magnet BTL as we didnt need 100% of the clearance that the third magnet afforded... new motors are shallower than the old with the top plate tucked up higher in the basket on the 18s, and using spacers on the 12s and 15s. Ill get a sticky up in a couple of days with pics and specs for things. Thanks, Scott
  16. I still have a few of the 12s left... but there might be another 50 or so of the 10s pop up in a few days. Ill keep you posted. Thanks, Scott
  17. Is the coil burnt or did something in the motor break and shift? For a standard recone it would be $83 including shipping. Thanks, Scott
  18. Looking at $141 for the kit and shipping (kit, basket, gasket, terminals, screws...). Thanks, Scott
  19. At this point, keep it as a spare
  20. Gebrochen, Im not sure what was exactly discussed with Nick, but I will forward you my contact info so that we can get things taken care of by Monday. osiris999... what kit? Thanks, Scott
  21. Please send it on back in and we can recone it for you (should it appear to be a warranty issue and not abuse). Or if youd like we can send a kit out to you as well. Thanks, Scott
  22. Real quick update as I have received about 50 of the same email in the past 2 days... pricing 12" $389 15" $409 18" $439 All options remain the same as far as cost. Although it appears as though pricing has gone up... it truly hasnt. We are no longer offering the 3rd magnet option and as the new motor costs significantly more and is stronger than even the SPL version with the 3rd magnet, we are adding in the 3rd magnet option pricing to the new standard price. I doubt many will be offended by this one given that 99.9% of BTL sales were with the 3rd magnet option as it is. As time passes we see what trends and options people are looking for and will be integrating the majority of things into future products. No sense offering something that no one wants... (like the old X series)... we will also be testing the waters with a couple of other drivers shortly as well (smaller SQ oriented subs), so stay tuned. Thanks, Scott
  23. You and one other customer had a free "gift"... New guy in the shipping dept couldnt tell the difference between the two... luckily head of ship/rec found the error the next day. As for under rating things... not really. I go by the DAF for most of my car audio ratings (a few of that know me know when I made that one up ) I dont like seeing products come back and tend to overbuild things. Sh1t runs down hill and a mad customer makes for a mad dealer... then rep then finally to me. So overbuilding seems to elimate 99% of this for car audio. Ill keep it that way Arsenal cone is much thicker and heavier duty (similar in build to the Chaos, Havoc, and Mayhem cones but with a 2.5" coil and narrower surround). Surrounds are similar, although the Arsenal is a slightly taller profile and a little more overall surface area to the cone. Definitely a more rugged sub than the Assassin... hence the doubling of power handling as well. Keep us updated on both! Thanks, Scott
  24. UPS tracker to your email. Thanks, Scott
  25. I have had things ready to go for a while... biggest issue was the magnetizer and designing a new coil to charge the motor as it is quite a bit larger in OD than the original (11.25" vs 8.6" magnets). All that aside things seem to be working as of Tuesday. Ill post a pic in a couple of days (when I get some time to... these 3:30 am- late whenever shifts are getting rough ) This new design is more or less based on what 95% of people order. It is rare that we sell a 2 magnet BTL (mostly for Street A,B,C apps) and more often than not it is a high Xmax coil as well. So based off of the % sales we designed a new motor that will incorporate these needs already into the design. Does this make it less expensive? Sorry... 1 new magnet costs 1.5 times that of all 3 of the others combined. More steel (with steel prices going through the roof) and more magnet = about 50% more build costs on our end. But we are also doing signifcantly more numbers and can actually keep the costs the same as the original with the 3rd magnet option. Still have flatwind and no cooling as standard... New motor has a little more strength in its daily tolerence form than the older BTL did in SPL tolerences. Its a strong motor. Weight is a 3-4 more pounds as well. No 10" in these (I rarely did a 10" in the originals anyway... again, except for Street A classes). More info to come. Thanks, Scott
