  1. We have been swamped for months, but that is more due to OEM and Ascendants growing orders than Fi itself. But it does take some time to get things machined and built are we are normally within or 3-5 day time line. Shipping via UPS ground is normally 2-6 business days depending on how far you are from Las Vegas. Thanks, Scott
  2. Congrats!!! Glad to see it finally hit the pages. I have been watching since the shoot each month to see if it was in there. Got this months yesterday and it finally was I definitely need to have a listen to your system. I know Erics ear and tuning well, and for him to be impressed definitely says something about the overall sonics of things. Ill see if I can get some decent scans of it tonight and post them. Thanks, Scott
  3. Received the sub, but the shipping dept didnt have it logged under the right name. Took a while to figure who it belonged to and that was from the weight in your FedEx tracking info. Recone is done and needs to be tested, cleaned and shipped. SHould have it ready to go tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. Scott
  4. Manilla folder thickness varies by company. You simply want things to be as snug as possible, but not so tight that you rip things trying to remove them. You can make up some thickness if an extra layer is too much by using tape. Wrapped around at several points, electrical tape is about 3/4 the folder thickness and scotch tape is about 1/4. You can tweak from there. As mentioned by Nick, make sure that the folders dont overlap as this will push things off to one side. Thanks, Scott
  5. Still using only 7 cuft of net space for the pair? As I mentioned earlier.. they will physically fit, but wont work well at all. If you need a pair of something in their, reconing the 18 to a 25 and adding a second 15 would work in that space. You would gain about 30% in surface area as well as being able to double up the amps for a gain. Beyond that... not too much more can be done with 18s. Thanks, Scott
  6. BLs sealed are a no go. Qs with that much power would need the BP option... and I can tweak from there specifically for sealed if need be too. Itd loose some output near tuning, but would also dop deeper and have a little more output on the top end as well. For me, itd be the way to go by far. No easy way to run 3 amps on 2 subs ported... so you really would be about even in output near tuning with only 2 amps on the 2 subs... so no real gain there. Cleaner, easier setup overall... Thanks, Scott
  7. I am a fan of sealed setups... but I can deal with the output loss over a ported system. Low tuned smaller ported enclosures seem to bridgethe gap to some extent, but still not quite as natural in an autosound environment as sealed.
  8. The coating on the wire is copper colored, but they are definitely aluminum flatwinds. We used 4 spiders on those, including a flat spider on the bottom to help fight cone rock with the VERY tight gaps that those motors have. The "cooling" that those motors employ is no better than a standard pole vent. I wouldnt put much more than you currently have to them without fearing for their thermal lives. Mechanically they can take a decent amount more than that. Thanks, Scott
  9. Actually setting the SSF to 20 Hz is too low and will allow for mechanical damage if played below tuning. Have things changed in the past week with more time on the sub? The BP option adds an extra spider so it does take a little longer to break in and settle to spec. Sub and port back usually works well, or subs up port back. Have you tried orienting the box indifferent directions to see how things change? How close is the sub and port to the back of the trunk? Thanks, Scott

Looks like a solid design... although I have never been a big fan of running more than one turn in a port. Thanks, Scott
  11. Looks like a solid design. Should work well for a daily setup. If the above design doesnt meet your requirements, let me know and we can tweak things from there (thanks Brian)
  12. The copper coils allow the subs to have a similar to standard version response in a smaller enclosure.... if size is the issue, then I would definitely look to the copper coil option. Thanks, Scott
  13. I think we are taking care of this one on the other post, but with 13.7 cuft you can shoe horn a pair of 18s in there. Problem is simply getting the box in the trunk that is that large. As Nick mentioned it might need to be built in the trunk to take advantage of the space you have.
  14. As Nick mentioned pictures would definitely help us out with visualizing what you have to work with. (4) sealed 15s would be louder than a pair of 15s ported about a half octave abovetuning and beyond.... but near tuning it is easy to make a pair of ported 15s louder. Now does this make for a "better" setup? I dont know. So you are trying to get louder for a daily setup yet run the same sized system or smaller enclosure wise? If thats the case, you are running into physical limitations of things. Maybe (4)12s ported would fit (more cone area than 2 15s). Sounds like the rear is sealed rather well with the gas tank in the way. Do you have much in the way of openings through the rear deck too? Simply removing the rear speakers and allowing for more of the sound/pressure to get into the cabin will help quite a bit if you already havent done so. Thanks, Scott
  15. Running separate chambers eats up more internal volume (divider and extra port board thickness). Now if it is for aesthetic reasons and symmetry, then I understand running dual ports, but you will still have to use a slightly larger enclosure to do the same thing. Single slot port with a pair of the subs in a common chamber will work well. You are at 3.13 cuft before port and driver displacement... With a single 3" X 11.5" port that is 32" long you will be tuend to 33Hz and have a solid daily driver that will hit deep and hard. Thanks, Scott
  16. In all honesty the box you have now is on the large side of things, but should be better on the lows than a smaller 2.2 cuft. What way is the sub and port oriented? What is your subsonic set to? While 1500W is 50% more than the Q is rated for, you are alos in a larger than normall recommended enclosure too... Im wondering where your subsonic filter is set? While I am always telling people to set them high and back down until it is balanced to be safe, Im wondering if yours is still on the high side of things. After a solid break in things change output wise down low, but still.... Thanks, Scott
  17. SSD magnets are 6.70" in diameter and the Qs and BLs are 7.50" Thanks, Scott
  18. Hmmm... Ill check first thing in the morning. Sub is done and should have shipped, but at the same time you should have received a number for it as well. I believe you had mentioned this was for an customer install too... Ill let you know tomorrow and get it to you in time no matter what. Thanks, Scott
  19. Been done and got us kicked out of SEMA for being too loud lol We have been too busy over the past couple of months to have the time to get a solid set of pics taken of it. It is a very solid vehicle to say the least, from the 3"+ thick enclosure walls to the 2" MDF molded in "headliner". The H2 is a very solid platform as it is and there is relatively little flext to it... but it still does. Ill see if Chris and I can take a little time next week and do a decent shoot of it. We will need to anyway for the gallery on the site.
  20. OK good... I was getting worried about that one. Must have been a magnet defect to begin with... then with a little rough shipping it didnt help things Id say. First issue we have had like that.
  21. What??? You had a magnet crack on yours too? If so let me know ASAP as my magnet vendor is in town and I met with them on Tues. I will find them ASAP and get something resolved. When did you order this?
  22. No Tracker... USPS. Id figure it to be there Sat. Ill check with Pol to see what day it shipped. Thanks for your patience.
  23. We actually received that from FedEx this morning and it was brought to my attention before I left for some meetings. We will get a new one built up and out in the next day or two... I sent an email as well. Thanks, Scott

On here for a minute or two to put out some fires Been beyond busy with holidays (2 short 3 day weeks) and CES this week. To be honest this is the first time I have been on here in 8 days. Meetings are done on Friday and Ill be back on here like normal on Monday. I appreciate everyones patience and Ill have a couple new clothing items to post up as well.... and maybe a hint about something new Thanks, Scott
  25. Awww.... sorry. They must not have put it in there or paid attention to the note when packing it. Definitely sorry. I will gladly send one out for free... and a shirt, stickers... whatever to try and make up for that one We have been swamped for the past 3-4 weeks with holidays and CES approaching. Finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel with only 4 meetings tomorrow and 1 on Friday. Next week things should get back on track. I do have to appologize for the delays and for not getting the gasket in there. If you can, send me an email to [email protected] with your name/address so I can get one out tomorrow. I appreciate your patience and Ill be back on here daily next week. Thanks, Scott
