  1. Qs will play deeper in the proper box. For a 1 Ohm stable amp, you will need to order the D2 sub. Wired in parallel it will yield a 1 Ohm load for the amp. Thanks, Scott
  2. OK... adding things up here. Saw you posting from Canada on another post but didnt know what I had sent you (sent out quite a few things to Canada in the last week). Yes, recone kits shipped out over a week ago. Normally 6-10 business days ship time via USPS, but Id figure that with the holidays it might take a little longer. Ill see if I can get any info from the customs number (sometimes they will tell me if they have already cleared customs or not). Thanks, Scott
  3. 1 Ohm or 2 Ohm is based on the needs of your amp... D1 can be wired to .5 or 2 Ohm and D2 can be wired to 1 or 4 Ohm. Most single sub setups with 1 amp use the D2s as 1 Ohm monoblocks are most common. Universal allows you to be able to swap out via a recone to any coil in the lineup. For reference the D2 coil is the "universal" gap... D1 is slightly smaller. Thanks, Scott
  4. Im thinking that you got one of the subs from Chickens setup before he switched to the fully loadeds (they were brand new never used 2 magnets with cooling). If thats the case let me know. I do have one more of those left. Thanks, Scott
  5. How much power, space, and what does he listen to? Qs are clean and deep and are a little more SQ oriented. BLs hit harder and are built to take a little more abuse...
  6. I hate to say that Im not 100% sure what orders you have going to Canada as we have shipped out a dozen in the past week to Canada. Please let me know your names so itll make searching easier for me as I dont really have a reference to check orders and names vs forum names... sorry. Definitely not anti-Canada lol
  7. Business as usual here in Vegas. Shawn and Nick are not here locally (Eastcoasters ) and take care of tech and a good portion of other things via email. Thanks, Scott
  8. I was out of town from late Thurs through Sunday. Ill check up on it when I get into the office this morning. Thanks, Scott
  9. Email back to you. Looks like UPS skewered the box with something from the pics you sent. We will get you taken care of. Thanks, Scott

No price changes in the forseeable future. We keep eating the metal price increases, but I dont think it will get to the point where we need to do any changes on the consumers end. We really dont have a D4 coil as standard although we can do it. But, as DevilDriver mentioned, D1s will get you most of the common needs that a D4 will in the autosound realm. Thanks, Scott
  11. Do you have any rough dimensions to work with for the enclosure?

Welcome aboard... youll find SSA to be very helpful and friendly. SSD with BP option and flatwind will take the power, but you arent far $$$ wise at that point from the Q series. Definitely can make a solid setup with $600 for the substage. My advice, find the amp you want first and size the sub and coil to it after. Some amps are still 2 Ohm stable and no sense picking up the sub until you are sure what you have power wise. We can tailor them to about anything. Thanks, Scott
  13. lol... forgot about this one. Sheesh why am I always sending the free stuff to you? Ill get it on its way tomorrow. Congrats Chad
  14. Id say probably not... they qts is a little too low for my tastes for a midbass, not too mention the 1W/1m isnt the best either. Oh, and the mounting depth... dont get me started on that (as I talk bad about my own products ) To be honest, there are better 8s out there to do the job you are wanting these to do. While I love selling products, Id rather you be happy. These were designed as true subs and not real midbass drivers (especially not in an IB or freeair alignment). Now if you can somehow stuff a good enclosure in the doors, things might be a little different.
  15. Agreed with all above.
  16. OK, is the Wills Run address the correct one? (We have your address in UPS now that I have a name). And yes, that is the sub that is sitting (other sub is a different series/size). Ill send an email confirming things as well and get it out to you ASAP. Thanks, Scott
  17. Lots of space and solid power. You can kind of straddle the two (SQ and output) by stepping up to a pair of Q15s sealed. Get sealed sound but more output. Otherwise most people consider sealed the way to go for SQ and a pair of 12Qs will get loud and sound clean.
  18. 15s would be louder overall and you could lower the QTC some with about 1 lb of poly fill per cuft of enclosure... but the qtc still is too high for my tastes. Little too punchy. 12s in 1 cuft per would work well. That definitely is a solid amp that doesnt skimp on power. Probably about 1200W per sub. Should make for a very solid system. Thanks, Scott
  19. lol... something like that. We ***USUALLY*** keep tight lipped about stuff at Fi, lol. I did spill the beans on the names wuite a while ago. First person to find the post where I said what SSD stands for (or confirmed it in a post) wins an X12 D4. Thanks, Scott
  20. Is it a 2" coil? I think it is. I might have D2 coils or maybe only single 4 Ohm. Solid SQ as there will be a fair amount of Xmax to it. Itll be decently efficient as well given the parts I would use, but it wont be able to handle tons of power... Need to confirm first the coil size... do you have a pic of the motor?
  21. Do you have any basic dimensions that we can work with to design it? We will gladly custom design an enclosure to fit the space you have... dont want to give dims for something that simply wont fit
  22. Hmmm... I wouldnt want to remove the strut brace at all. No reason to add some chassis flex for a sub box. If you were local I could fab a new one that integrates with an enclosure (I used to do chassis fab for road race cars). 1500W is definitley on the high side of things for a single Q. Im sure others will tell you different though (I stick closer to our ratings with most recommendations). A pair of 12s would be louder than a single 15 (when in like enclosures). Maybe a pair of SSDs off that amp? Do the seats drop down too? Qs would work fine sealed in 1 cuft. You could always stuff with up to 1lb of poly fill to gain up to about 15% in percieved box volume. Thanks, Scott
  23. Specs work out fine... just might be small on the (4)4" ports. If you step them up to (6) youll have less compression and noise issues. Thanks, Scott
  24. $104 shipped. Thanks, Scott
  25. I have serached and searched for info on these motors... Best I found is that they are daily D1 motors and probably not a universal gap on them. D1s will definitely fit in that motor. There are a couple of differences though... the SPL tolerences are set by both the pole OD and the top plate ID. They are both tighter than the daily setup. For a D2 coil the top plate ID would be the same as the SPL tolerence, but since the pole is "daily" it would rub big time. Only safe coil to use in them is the D1 (or some of the SPL coils). Sorry if that confuses matters more Thanks, Scott
