Ported design for single 15" Q
2.6 cuft will work well sealed. Itll have a nice response and natural sound with a little punch to it. As for ported, 4 cuft at 32 will have 5-6 more dB of output from 30-50 hz. The only issue I see is the amp doesnt have a subsonic filter and you will have no protection when playing songs that have frequencies under tuning. A ported enclosure has no control below its tuning frequency and the sub will act like it is in free air at that point. 22" X 22" X 24" with a port that is 3" X 20.5" (inside dimension of enclosure) and is 30" long. This nets you 4 cuft tuned to 32 Hz.

Port area Question.
Most at Fi like to tune a little deeper for daily... recommending 28-33. 33 becomes the standard tuning for most people as it blends output and depther fairly well with the Q12 and 15 (for most customers liking). Going over on the port sizing isnt an issue (unless it is radically over and then other problems present themselves) 4 cuft at 32 Hz is solid for daily. You can trade a little less port area (still maintaing the recommended 12-16 sqin per cuft) for a little more box volume. If you are running upto about 1200W to the Q, having a little more volume is only going to help extension and efficiency.

SPL box for two 15" Fi SSDs
How much power and approx where do you peak at? Larger will give you more efficiency, but you will have to balance box volume with your power as well... too large and too much power can create other issues.

2 x Fi Q 18's Box Design need opinions
Being tuned that low is fine. LOTS of port area... and from two different programs, Im getting different port lengths for the 16 cuft enclosure than what you have. Im getting lengths closer to 43" than 50". Shrinking the port down further to 5 X 45.5 will shorten the length and decrease the overall size of the enclosure as well (if thats of any concern). Being at 200 sqin of port for the pair of subs and 16 cuft is plenty.

Ported box for fi bl 15
A single BL18 with 4000W wont touch a pair of 15s with 2000 each. The 15s have more cone area and the single 18 will be pushed beyond its limits in a daily application (compression, thermal, and mechanical). Theyll work well tuned that low too.

Box for a 15" BTL in a 2002 Nissan Sentra XE??
We can design one, but Im not sure of what dims will fit in that car? Post them up and Im sure youll get a couple of designs.

More port area = Better??
Most likely not... with 5 cuft and 71 sqin of port, you are within our normall 12-16 sqin of port recommendation. Going from 32-33 would make a minimal change as well that would be measureable, but probably not audible. If you had the ports radiused inside and out, it would probably flow about the same as the 80sqin... and flow is what you are going for.

Is this a good Choice?
Should make for a solid setup. If I remember correctly the 3000 can get a little nasty when pushed hard, so make sure to keep it clean and setup correct. Youll have a loud daily setup.

Where does an AA Arsenal fit in the Fi lineup?
We will see more reviews of the Arsenals as more people buy them... They are a solid all around daily sub that has good SQ to it. Maybe a "Q lite" for some sort of reference. But you have a fair amount less Xmax and linear displacement than the Q (and a fair amount less cost as well). I think it is a little more SQ oriented and well rounded than the standard SSD, yet not quite as beefy in construction. The Havoc is not SPL oriented at all. It is a great daily sub that has excellent linearity and sounds clean in sealed or ported applications. Its more along the lines of the Q, but with a little more durability and power handling as well.

Which sub to run?
SSD with copper is rated at 800W. That amp is strong and would probably be better suited on a Q for most applications unless the SSD with BP option was used (still less than a Q).
-
12 Q
Pics will tell me a little more. Yes, we have done 3 spiders for some applications on a standard Q and it comes with the BP option. The easiest way to tell if it has the BP option is to look down the pole vent and see if it is blocked off inside with a piece of aluminum...

fi dust cap getting pretty warm??? on a fibl15 with cooling fully load
Heat will build up in all parts after being played for a while. If the coil doesnt smell, you should be good (means the cooling is doing its job). The cooling consists of 6 axial channels machined into both the pole and the top plate as well as an angled cut on the pole extension to aid in air flow.

most efficient sub
Really, if its for burps only with 3000-4000W, the standard 2 magnet version with pole chamfer will be plenty. If you let me know a little more about your enclosure sizing and tuning I might be ablke to tweak things further. Often the most efficient driver wont peak as hard either. Changins suspension and motor strength might result in a lower efficiency number, but higher peak overall. Thanks, Scott

fi wins world championship
Amazing scores! Thanks for all the hard work and numbers Lets try emailing me the pics again and Ill host them. Thanks, Scott

Can Fi recone an MTX sub i have lying around?
I have a couple of coils that appear that they will work. One I will have to unwind to a 2 layer, the other looks like itll squeak by as a 4 layer. Thanks, Scott

price on 8 Q18's for IB use
Sent an email the other day... just making sure you got it. Thanks, Scott

First show with the 2 x BL 18's (walled)
Nice score! Im sure the 150 mark is attainable with a little tweaking. Pics when you get a chance.

From: Reconing Clif CD120C
It looks Chinese to me, but it might not be... I know the basket, but havent really seen any US production with a chrome one. The toolng is available for it in China, but there is a design patent on it from the original designer here in the US The only way I for me to know what I can do to it is to have it in house to see and measure from. Is it blown?

no receipt for FI purchase?
Being a net company the email is your receipt. If you need a hardcopy for insurance purposes, Im sure we can get you one. Oh, and pics when you get a chance

Hey Scotty, recones?
Sent... Ill get the tracker and forward it to you. Thanks, Scott

Can I change my order?
Not really... they do sometimes have wear marks when pushed really hard, but this doesnt hinder the performance either. If you cant hear it... I probably wouldnt worry too much Thanks, Scott

Can someone from Fi Please reply to me
$75 for the kit plus shipping. Sorry for the delay. All sales emails are cleared up, but I will check in the spam folder as well...

oz matrix power recone
Cool... while the specific soft parts arent going to take any more power... the geometry will lend itself to it. A 12" or 15" will be easy enough to do. Ill let you know when it arrives. Thanks, Scott

I think i made a mistake on my box
Hmmm... that might be an option. How far is sub from the port?
