  1. What do you have for power and approx space? A BTL may or may not be the best choice for your application, and seeing that your are interested in one (and the associated pricepoint) we might be able to figure something that would do even better for the same cost/space. Thanks, Scott
  2. A while ago when we started to rebuild the forum and had a shirt and sticker care package for all those that met the requirements, we also put up a $250 credit for the one forum member that we at Fi felt typified a friendly and helpful addition here. Thanks, Scott
  3. I have had a few emails kicked back to me recently (not from you) but PM me your email address and Ill check the spam filter for your emails. Thanks, Scott
  4. I was surprised at the color as well. It appears that I got stuck with the disclaimer of "Color is representational and might not reflect actual color" when I ordered them from the catalog. They didnt have any of that color in stock and it appeared to be the same color as the originals. Since a few people have expressed issue with it here, Ill work something for all those that ordered them. Give me a little bit and Ill take care of all of you. Thanks, Scott
  5. To be honest, no. I really cant think of many people that would have them... and even at that, sell you just one. Sorry.
  6. I agree with Brian on that one. You are definitely pushing the envelope with that space... If you can do external aeroports you might be in better shape. Thanks, Scott
  7. You just simply need to drill and tap 6 holes on a 5" diameter and the standard baskets will bolt right up. From there there are a dozen different coils that we have that fit. They can be tweaked for SQ or SPL or just about anything in between. Thanks, Scott
  8. The coil lets you know in advance when its not happy... ie smell. But thats not to say that you are going to kill it. Its just telling you to back off. As above, which amp is it? Thanks, Scott
  9. No one knows who or what Fi is. Unless you put "car audio" next to it... then they just figure its Radio Shacks new line No stickers that size, but I can forward you a vectorized logo that you can take to a sticker shop and have them make one. Or... hit up tprj82 for his Tom... you should have 9 packages on your doorstep shortly :;
  10. I have to vote in favor of the pair of SSDs... not that I am trying to push a sale on you... but those subs are far too close in lineage to not vote that way. Did some rework on the motor you have as well. Hopefully youll be happy with this one. Thanks, Scott
  11. Not gonna have one that is 2" long. All of the 2.5" coils I have are shorter than that... sorry. Thanks, Scott
  12. Congrats from all at Fi to tejcurrent for exemplifying what we like about this forum... friendly, helpful, and has no issue of beating the crap out of our products The $250 for "rebuilding the forum" goes to you. Let us know when you want to use it and well comp any products for you. Again... thanks for all the help on the forum.
  13. Email back at you Thanks, Scott
  14. Wow... not sure what went on here. Im not sure based off the forum name if you are the one with the Q12 that was man handled via UPS. If thats the case, they should have contacted you by now about picking up the sub for a claim. If this is not the case Im talking about, please send an email to [email protected] (or if it is and you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me). Thanks, Scott
  15. Shipweight says 69 lbs... but its really 71. I cheap out a little as 70+lbs is an extra charge, and I have yet to be called on it. Not sure of the actual sub weight... but at the end of the day my back says they are less than light.
  16. How wide?
  17. 190 mm or about 7.5" OD
  18. SSD12 copper coil, 2 cuft at 32 Hz... good little combination with that amp. Thanks, Scott
  19. Got an email out to you... Thanks, Scott
  20. If you can get 1 cuft before displacement, I would step up to the Q12 sealed. Qtc would be around what most like, and you could back it down a little to .7 with about .75 lbs of polyfill. Less expensive option that a pair of SSD10s and should be about optimal in the space and with that power. Thanks, Scott
  21. There are companies that make dual alt brackets that bolt up to a variety of applications. If not, and you have the ability, most dual alt brackets arent too hard to make.
  22. Lots of factors involved with this one. We rate them at 2000W RMS and you are good with that. While you probably wont be pushing things to their potential, the room for error is eased quite a bit. With cooling, a ported enclosure, and your subsonic set correctly, about the only failure mode would be massive clipping and heating up a coil (which you will smell before it becomes a huge issue and you simply turn things down) And at that... unless you have one heck of a nasty amp when clipping, the cooling should keep the heat in check. Stepping up to 3kW on a cooled version, you often can reach mechanical limits of things... and your room for error gets reduced. With the 4kW and 5kW power that quite a few people are using, your margin of safety is gone and you can easily have both thermal and mechanical failures at that point. While most likely they dont feed them more than 3kW for most sessions, they definitely have the ability to ruin a sub. The only thing I feel that they do have going for them is headroom and plenty of clean power. I dont recommend that much power... and its not my call to make sure that you have the ability to set things up and use it correctly if you do. I know for a fact that quite a few people will get on here happy as can be with 4kW+ per sub and no issues... but it would be irresponsible of me to give people the carte blanche to do so. Thanks... Scott

How much space are you willing to use for an enclosure?
  24. ^What he said...About sums things up. The flatwinds are of similar dimension to one another as they can be flattened to keep a consistant OD. The round wire coils do have different ODs and are machined according to the OD+tolerence for the options selected. Thanks, Scott
  25. why, DaGhost, theothermike, and kbkid are all taken care of now. You should have them in on either Friday or Monday. Please post when they arrive. Thanks, Scott
