12" BL to Hawaii 96789 zip?
An extra $42 for shipping to that zip via USPS. Not sure whats up over in HI, but I have received 5-6 emails and shipping inquiries since late yesterday. Im thinking for the extra cost in shipping I could just fly over and hand deliver things... do a little snorkling... and head back to machine stuff Thanks, Scott

How much space do you have around the enclosure for the sound to get into the cabin when the box is pushed back? I can see better air flow and loading on the subs (as mentioned). I have seen a few people make their enclosures VERY tight to the space available and tucked up under the rear deck. This seals things off to an extrenet and allows for very little sound to get around the box or into the cabin. Pulling the box back loads things differently as well as creates a better path for sound to get around. Im sure before its loud in the trunk, but the point is to get that into the interior... not just have a slamming trunk. Not the most convenient location, but it seems to work for your application. Thanks, Scott

Is what this installer said true
Doubling of everything usually makes a solid difference. It is theoretically 6dB which is a good amount. Simply splitting up the power and doubling cone area is 3 dB which is noticeable. But at the point of 6dB and your setup... it might be the difference between being loud, and being obnoxious. Thanks, Scott

1 Q 18" review!!!
I must say that is one h*ll of a commitment right there to a sub. Not everyone glasses in a box and wall to their car I am definitely glad you like it and its working out well for you. Thanks for the pics and review! Scott...

I bet you have one or more conflicting options selected. There should be a "note" above the ordered items saying that you have chosen options that are conflicting or included with another option. In the case of a BL, if you choose pole chamfer and the cooling it will take away the checkout button since the pole chamfer is already included with the cooling option. Once you click off the pole chamfer, and update the order, the checkout button will return. Yes, sorry for not having a number, but we do get on the forums for fast repsonses too... Much faster to take care of things this way with 2 minutes of typing vs a 30 minute conversation (not trying to be rude at all... but I used to spend 7.5 hours out of an 8 hour day on the phone fielding calls vs getting work done. Now I can answer questions at 2 am when I have time and not during good working hours. Keeps the overall cost down, not for the phone line itself, but for hiring 2 more people to do my job) Thanks, Scott

Avalanche 12, 15, and 18 T/S specifications.
BL is right around 17 for all of them I believe. Thanks, Scott

AA HT still?
Not sure how the crossovers and other HT stuff will fit in. We will definitely keep the 6.5" around in its current form and maybe the old HT info, but it is still up in the air about the rest of the HT stuff. It will be available through one outlet or another though... Thanks, Scott

FI Q D2 10"
Possibly with the BP option. But it still depends on enclosure and application. No difference SQ wise, but the 12 can work ins small sealed enclosures as well and in most instances, even if it is a squeeze, I would rather see the 12 used. .8-1.2 cuft sealed works well. They can go in smaller with a healthy dose of polyfill but Im more of a fan of lower qtc alignments and dont often recommend smaller than that. Thanks, Scott

SSD or BTL
Do you already have the amp(s) and how much space do you have to work with? Thanks, Scott
-
BTLs power
Per sub or for the pair? Maor difference between the two and the needed options for the subs. Thanks, Scott

Have any pics of the Q with the new options been released
As mentioned above... very little visual difference between the two as the changes are mostly internal. Only noticeable difference... and by that I mean you have to have lots of light and peer through the vent holes in the basket to see the axially machined cooling channels. Other than that... you wont visually see a difference. In free air you will notice a MAJOR difference in the amount of air coming out of the basket cooling vents vs the standard version. Thanks, Scott

What to do next with FI?
Aside from the sub suggestion (I recommend the second Q as well) I would agree with JimJ and the notion that you might need to beef up your midbass. This is where a good portion of the hit and attack comes from in a sub and its amazing how much of a perceived difference they make in the "sub" section as well. Thanks, Scott

BLs are between 3-5 business days depending on the options selected. More machining options puts them into a different part rotation and increases the build time towards 5 days. Shipping varies between 2-6 business days depending on how far from Las Vegas you live. Thanks, Scott

recones
Tom, Just called your phone and your message said something about it being lost...lol Edited your message to delete the phone number so you dont get crank calls at 2 am When you get a chance call me (Pacific time 10-5) at either of the numbers I left and we can get things squared away and sent to the right people. Thanks, Scott

FI 418s 4th order single reflex bandpass design!!!
Just really quick look at things... 7 cuft front chamber with (randomly selected port size) 10" X 19.5" X 23" long port and a sealed rear chamber of 14 cuft looks OK. Tunes port to 46 Hz and gives you a useable f3 of about 24 Hz and 90 Hz. You can add a bunch of poly fill... up to about 10lbs and drop the bottom end a Hz or two more. Saddle shapped with -3 in the center at 45 Hz. But it should blend well overall and have plenty of bottom end. Ill go through tonight with my favorite program and confirm all of this. Thanks, Scott

Avalanche 12, 15, and 18 T/S specifications.
Wow... ok then. Yes, the specs are correct based off of the fact that the cms decreased more than the ratio of Mms did for the 18s vs the 15s.

btl 15 recones
What email did you send it to? Dont see anything in Sales@ or Scott@. If thats where you sent it... please try one more time. Thanks, Scott

ATTN Scott and FI tech
Your other one got a solid months head start on break in... It really wont be an issue. While the specs are off due to the suspsneions, the overall repsonse is quite similar. They will eventually meet up with the same specs. Hows it sound with the pair in there? Thanks, Scott

What is the best 12" sub you have for .9-1.1 cubes sealed and aro
Depending on the power you have either the SSD with copper coils or the Qs.

recones
Which one are you... the one who sent them in or the one that wants recones based off the one that got sent in? I contacted the original sender and told him to have the other one email me as well.... I believe I received an email from the whoever needs the pair of kits for it and replied over the weekend. Got rings machined to bolt the baskets down to the motor pattern. Just needed coil info for the other pair. Thanks, Scott
