  1. Just as different vehicles are designed for different applications, so are speakers. I offroad all the time, and Ferraris have 4 wheels and are great cars... so why wouldnt I go rock crawling in that? Doesnt mean that the Ferrari is a POS, just that offroading or towing a trailer isnt the best idea for them. TS params indicate what application a sub should be used in. In the case of the BTL, the high motor force, low Qts, and small Vas indicate a ported speaker. A low motor force, higher Qts, and huge Vas often indicates a huge sealed application or IB specific sub. BTLs will not explode into flames in sealed, but as mentioned so eloquently above, they will sound like poop. Thanks, Scott
  2. 12 orders for stickers on that date. What was the order number? Thanks, Scott
  3. As mentioned above... UPS' system is less than optimal for us. It simply assumes that when the order is processed that it will ship the same day. In our case, this is not true. Order is processed and a UPS ticket as made (along with a build ticket for the machine shop and the assembly line). Once the sub has shipped it will change from "Billing information received" to actually show the shipping and where the sub is in transit to you. BTLs as posted on the site are currently taking us 3-10 business days to machine and assemble. As I have been out of town for the past week, I will hop on all the orders and make sure that they are up to date in terms of shipping out on time. Thanks, Scott
  4. Just back in town after being gone for a week. What is the order number? We have about 60 BTLs in some sort of state of build right now and have no clue which is yours. I would rather get it squared away with you before tomorrow morning as I know its going to be hectic with emails. Order number looks like I-XXXX/00 Thanks, Scott
  5. Copper and flatwound coils have different gaps. You cannot put a flatwound coil into a copper coil motor. Outside of that if you have standard and copper coil motors then you can use either D1 or D2. -Nick
  6. The office staff is out until Monday for business. It'l be claimed then and built next week. -Nick
  7. Andrew you need to bump your subsonic up a little bit and get it to about 3Hz below the tuning of your port... I don't want you to have any problems with the sub breaking flopping under tuning. I threw you some extra stickers in due to the inconvenience of USPS saying it was too heavy to ship Let us know you you like it in the long term!
  8. OK... lets take the speaker wires out of the amp. Go ahead and use a 9V battery or a drill battery or whatever is handy and "pop" test things. Do this to the connection to the subs that was previously wired to the amp. Do the subs pop in the same direction, or at all? If not in the same direction or "phase", go ahead and individually pop each coil with respect to phase. If all is well, re wire and check again. This makes sure polarity is right with all wiring and eliminates the subs from the equation. Thanks, Scott
  9. Are they D1 or D2 coils? Thanks, Scott
  10. Silicone in the tear and a thin layer top and bottom... normally holds fine for years. Not the prettiest of fixes, but Id do it instead of spending the $$$ for a recone at this time. My thought is if anything else is wrong with the system or setup, musical listening habits, or anything else... Id rather abuse this one than a fresh one. If not, itll still work just fine. Thanks, Scott
  11. Yes, they will work in 4th orders. Trunk rattles are only gone if ported through the deck or pass through. If still firing into the trunk, they are just as bad as a normal sealed or ported setup. Thanks, Scott
  12. BL stock is way more of a sub than the SSD optioned up. Thanks, Scott
  13. Actually... we do have 4X in hoodies (grey and black) as well as vegas, city, and I think all the Black shirts. We cant code for size exclusionary items at this time, so we dont have them up. Email Nick and we can get you sorted for one. Fixed coding for hats so now the S/M and l/XL works properly. Thanks, Scott
  14. SSDs wont be available again until March 1st with the new version. Might change things some for you... Thanks, Scott
  15. And thank you for the order. You might be one of the last SSDs to go out. I think we will contact whoever it was and give them a solid apparel package as well. Thanks, Scott
  16. As mentioned above... it depends on a great many things. The more clean power the better up until a thermal or mechanical limit. 2600W of clipped boosted signal will make things more mad than 3200W of clean signal (and for all the naysayers I have plenty of measurements to prove it using our laser measurement, accelerometers, volt, current, and thermal measurements trying to find solid data in testing our drivers and new technologies). If you have plenty of voltage and current for the amps, no bass boost on the headunit or amp, a properly designed enclosure with respect to sizing, and tuning, the subsonic filter set up correct, gains correct with respect to headunit voltage, testing on an oscilloscope for clean signal at each step of the chain, then you can probably put more than our normal recommendations to it. But, this is seemingly not the norm and why we stick to our standard ratings. Thanks, Scott
  17. Some cats are out of the bag on the site... Thanks, Scott
  18. They seem to be Ok on the power side of things from what customers have said. Just the big issue for me is the lack of a good filter. if you tune 33-34 youll be fine with the amp set to 30 on the filter. Thanks, Scott
  19. As Nick mentioned the 909er flat bills are in the works (sorry SoCal folks with my dig;) ) We do have limited 4X sizes in shirts. We do not post them as our coding doesnt allow exclusionary specifics on items... but normally in hoodies (grey and black) the Vegas, City, and the black shirt lines we have them. Lots more stuff done or in the works. As coding and time permit (beanies done, Fi logo belts done...trucker hats in 8 colors with any choice of another 10 colors of logos). Thanks, Scott
  20. I think BTL15s ship at 71 lbs packed. Fairly heavy of a sub... and our back pain on a daily basis proves it Thanks, Scott
  21. Not to bash another companies products, but this goes to all amplifier manufacturers that build large amps without a truly adjustable subsonic filter... stop it. You are doing a great disservice to your customers with ported applications. While the MRP M2000 has a selectable filter for 15 Hz (useless) and 30Hz (good for 33-34Hz tunings) you have no true adjustability to it for the other 90% of applications. For this amp you will need the D1 coils wired in series for a single 2 Ohm load. Please tune accordingly and put the filter on the 30Hz setting. Do not use any boost on the headunit or amp either... Thanks, Scott
  22. I do feel the need to chime in on this as well. I do understand that we loose business in not having a phone, but as mentioned above, we would definitely loose significantly more business in the long run in having a phone line that is attended to by someone that does not have the ability to answer all questions. I have been in this position with a previous company and ended up being on the phone 10 hours out of an 8 hour work day... getting nothing accomplished in the meantime that related to designing or producing the products I was answering the phone for. This was with 3 lines constantly full and annoyed people waiting on them until I could attend to them. I have learned to pick and choose my battles with the phone and spending 10 hours with one customer over a weeks time about an 8" bottom line speaker and all other aspects of his system to have him buy another brands 8", use one of the 10 enclosures I specifically designed, and not make the $15 profit off of that 8" driver sale makes no sense... and this is not an isolated case, but the norm. With Nick and myself, we do know and understand all aspects of business and do realize that we loose business because of not having a Fi specific line. But it has to be an accepted loss by us considering the alternative. So while it sounds awful to say that we are knowingly loosing you as a customer since we do not have a phone line. But the fact of the matter is we would loose 10 others to the current 1 in having one with an idiot answering, or having us answer and take care of everything at a level expected or needed... yet not have us working on new designs, picking up slack for employees absent, or simply "working" with the other employees because we are swamped with sales. Until a time comes where we can find other local employees that know everything that comes their way on a Fi phone line, we simply wont have one. Ill take the small .22lr round to the foot instead of the .50 to the head Thanks, Scott
  23. Not seeing anything can you send it to ascendantaudio "@" hotmail.com then?
  24. I highly doubt its tinsel slap as we have integrated leads... so not an issue there if done by us. Not sure if we reconed it or sent out a kit... if someone else reconed it I cant vouch for their ability to align or set things up properly. What is the amps subsonic filter set too? With a 40Hz tuning and a 2.5cuft box (which is the upper end of our recommendations) subsonic filtering is critical. I would have the amps filter set no lower than 37Hz given the enclosure sizing. We will get this one figured. Thanks, Scott
  25. We always hate to hear that. We want things to go out the door and never come back... means people are happy and product is durable. We absolutely test every driver with a full range sine sweep at a power rating depending on the driver series. All drivers are tested free air to ensure no rub, buzz, or any other issues and that each coil is properly functioning. Did the box come in looking like an elephant sat on it or was it looking OK? Do you still have the original packaging? If so we can get UPS to pick it back up and get it back to us to test. We will repair or replace it ASAP. Thanks, Scott
