  1. First thing i saw too.
  2. Right on the money Jules. Checked it all. When I moved the wires near the back battery the V went up a bit. So I checked the + with my current ground and had 10.8V. Then ichecked it with a new point and 14.3. So I fixed it. now I have a .33V drop front to rear. It was causing a number of other things to go haywire too. Now, its louder, radio doesnt cut out, and no more engine noise or popping. i gots me a bit'o'flex now too(probably doesn't help that its 20 yeara old truck with no deadener). Thanks
  3. I do not have one yet. Right now I just have two 12's in P.O.S. box that leaks. I am planning on another box build starting this weekend or next. I have pics of my console build. Started on some lower door panels. Not a whole lot right now, have some other things to do to it before I get to really go to town on it. I have some info on where to get parts and such if you need them. JULIAN..... I will check all that while I am messin with it this weekend.
  4. That's what am thinking now. I opened my door for the dome light and speakers popped again. And the more engine noise.
  5. Voltage is 14.6 in park from alt. until I tested the rear batt. It read around 11V.
  6. Have a 300A fuse between alt and front batt. And two, near each batt for front to rear. 1/0 for big 3 and for front to back. Amp is a Planet Audio AC5ooo.1d. Subs are two memphis mcp12s4. Deck is a jvc avx830. Ill xheck the alt as soon as the wife gets back with the truck.
  7. Driving my truck with the radio at an inaudible level. Subs just pop. Kinda like an amp with no soft on/off feature. Went to the back and looked at the voltage meter on my rear fuseblock by the 2nd batt. Reads 10.38v. And my subs have engine noise now. What happened? Its a 1991 ramcharger. 318, 220 A alt. And a red and yellow top.
  8. Probably. Thanks for getting the info for.me.
  9. That's cool thanks.anyhow.
  10. What size enclosure did you come up with for these. So far I'm at 4.2 ft^3 tune to 38Hz. I just want to make sure that I'm on track. It's for two of them BTW.
  11. Slot it is! Thanks
  12. About as thick as an exhaust tube. Thought about using some deadening. Maybe a couple CLD tiles. Didn't know how well those would work in the box. Or, just save all the.hassle and get some PVC or possible just go with what I've done before and slot port it.
  13. I have a chance to pick up some 6" aluminum tube from work for cheap. Would this cause too much of a hollow sound or echo? I plan on securing them in the box. Possible having an end made that flares. Anyone tried this?
  14. Memphis doesn't carry them in their site. Did some searching but only came up with the subs or some other t/s parameters . I doubt the place that sells them here will give them up cause they make boxes. They are kinda like that. They gave me recommended optimal. The port however doesn't make sense. I used Torres calc. To do their recommended port size. It's way too small IMO. 4ft^3 for two 12's with a port of 12x2.5x19long which tunes it to 28hz. I wanted to get what the actual T/S parameters are so I can get an accurate idea of how to build it.
  15. Like adding a "porch deck" spoiler to a hundai. Mental horse power.
  16. My home eve is a ps3 and it worked in there. But, then again it is.a mini computer. I just wanted to know if I needed to save it as something particular to get it to play. My jvc plays normal cd's and dvd's just fine.
  17. jvc kw-avx830
  18. OK, i have some bass'd up songs that I've been trying to burn to a dvd-r. i have a dvd/cd player in the truck. I put the dvdr in and choose my program. first time i did it as a data. Second time I put it in as burn an MP3 DVD. I dont burn very often. what am I missing?
  19. I've been playing with the settings. Guess I'll have to read my book some more .
  20. Did that, as well as hitting.the reset button on the front. Still get.nothing. I found an adapter to go from usb to rca. I might just try that. I have two more inputs I can use.
  21. I HAVE A JVC KW-AVX830. The usb port is a cord that comes from the back of the HU and it it hard wired to it. I have not had the thing a year yet. It was working fine everyday. Until yesterday. I plugged my phone.in and nothing. Tried my thumb drive too. Same thing. I'm pretty sure nothing has changed.as far as the set up goes. Pulled out the HU today and wiggled the wire around a bit and still, nothing. Kinda P.O. about.it. I just got hold of a bunch of supposedly high bass song for.my thumb drive. Any thoughts ?
  22. im sure he will be glad to hear that. thanks for the help. i told him to take the batt back and exchange it. And, to check for faulty wiring. whether or not he does it, is another story.
