The smell of bass?
JimJ recommends it too... http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...st&p=284934 NIN has some of the most distorted bass heavy songs around, jamming your stereo until it stinks and then jamming it some more isn't the best way to extend the longevity of the components (amp OR sub). And he found out the hard way, good thing Jake is such a great guy...it probably wont cost him anything. I'm out, if you wanna complain, PM me.

The smell of bass?
How about one of YOU tell him he screwed up, cause I guess he doesn't like hearing it from me. On the positive side...Jake Sundownz...is a SUPERGREAT guy!!! I will be doing all the business I can with him.

The smell of bass?
Would you care to elaborate? I think I know where you're going with this, but I'll let you stick your foot in your mouth first. It smelled, you didn't stop, it smoked. What are YOU having trouble understanding? I'll let you reply to this, then I'll explain how setting your "gains" to only halfway doesn't mean that you can't clip the signal. Or toast a mosfet, for that matter.

The smell of bass? ...or the pungent odor of ignorance? You decide.

Is the Lanzar Opti 4000D and 6000D any good
I'm not sure "Great" is an adjective I would use to describe Lanzar products post 1996. The VHC line is superior to the Opti line, and older stuff is FAR superior to anything made today. And yes, the "Vibe" line is crap. You should do some research on current Lanzar's. Sure the ratings on the Heritage, MAX, and Vibrant are a little inflated, but the Vibe puts out rated power, and the Opti is a SOLID line. It's because of the other crappy lines that Lanzar sells that cause people to be confused with how good some of the amps are. 80's and 90's Lanzar's were made by Zed, early 90's they dropped Zed. But the Opti's continued with the quality boards. And before you try to come back with an argument, the Opti2000D puts out 1900wrms @ .5 ohms 14.4v. They also handle voltages from 12v through 16v. Stock. No mods. Doesn't sound like a bad amp to me. I never said they don't do rated power. I said they aren't as good as they were before they sold to pyramid. I have owned SEVERAL blue/grey opti's, and I'm running a big VHC in my wifes BMW right now. They are OK amps...better can be had for the same price. And don't try and tell me that the board makes the amp, you know as well as I that the COMPONENTS attached to the board determine the "quality" of the amp. Since ZED stopped making them, they ARE NOT THE SAME QUALITY. nevermind nevermind nevermind, you're right I'm wrong, you're smart, I'm stupid...anything else you NEED to feel better about yourself?

More BBQ
So, yeah.... chit got eaten b4 pics could be made. Took it to a party, it was gone before dinner started. Basically, it wont get super crunchy, and you should pull it off before it gets very dark.

12" BTL
If you change the motor, and the soft parts, the basket is the same.

Goofy question
I used to have some ABC gum.

Goofy question
Possibly, with some research....that, more than likely, will not happen. You said this is not an EFFICIENT use of the air-spring...does that mean that it is a "bad" use of the air/spring? Thanks for the insight...I highly enjoy reading your posts.

Is the Lanzar Opti 4000D and 6000D any good
I've had decent luck with Lanzars...but I've never used one of their classD amps. They are generally regarded as low-end. For approx the same money we can probably find you a better quality amplifier that will last longer. Budget? Goals? Voice coils the amp will see (load you plan on running it at)?

15" Loaded BTL box
Should I look at making the box smaller?

15" Loaded BTL box
Given a box with 4.5cubes GROSS...how long does a 6" aero need to be? How long would 2x6" aeros need to be? Looking for an output bomb around 45-50hz. Thanks Nick, good to see you around again.

SSD SEALED
Sorry for the "smart" response. I will try to keep intelligence to a minimum here, which should help me fit in better with users like M5, aneonrider, Vladd, ramos, and TopGun. I'm also starting to regret my decision to purchase Fi products, as the main supporters are SQueers hellbent on patronizing the curious. After purchasing subs from 2 different lines, I am semi-pleased with the product, but the manufacturers online attitude leaves a little to be desired. Nick, I'm talking to you.

Goofy question
For purely academic purposes, imagine a ported enclosure tuned with 2 aeroports. If the aeroports were different lengths...and therefore different tunings, what would the net result to the listener be? Would the box only keep one tuning?...would the tuning freq be "spread out"?...would space/time warp and fold back on itself thereby negating this whole exercise? Thanks
