I don't think adding magnets = more magnetic strength. Adding magnets = LONGER magnetic field. Strength is determined primarily by Gauss. More magnets = longer gap = more AVAILABLE xmag = more AVAILABLE throw = more AVAILABLE xmax = greater possibility for SPL. But xmag/xmax is just one little component in the quest for SPL.

Actually, if it were me, I think I'd want Scott to personally come to my house (with the CNC equipment that he carried on his back from Vegas), tell me it was 100% HIS fault, and then procede to make me a new sub right then and there. I'm of the opinion that you NEED more port area. But that's just me. The net volume is fine of you're going STRAIGHT SPL...but then you will want more port area. If you're going for spl/sq then you need more volume, and then youll need more port area. imVho...

Still going with the 100.4...I know to toss the crossovers, I'll be using the sundown for that. Bought some CDT M6's and DRT 25's. Sub is BTL15 on 2 saz1500d's I've never heard a 2 way set called 3way because of the sub...I should get out more.

I just bought a whole bunch of stuff from Knu. A buch of distro blocks, inline fuse holders, RCA's, terminals. Showed a buddy that does installs for a living. He and I both thought the quality was better than RF and Stinger stuff we BOTH own. Knu gets my vote.

I could also make my own amps. I've done it before. But the cost/benefit just isn't there. Same goes for speakers... You do it on your free time as something you enjoy. Nobody's asking you to take time off work to do it, just do it when you have nothing else to do. The finished product will not be seen. I don't care enough to do it myself. If the spacers cost $100 I would. They don't. Are you machining your own distro blocks? Bundling your own wire? Why not? Because it's too much work, and a quality product can be had cheaply. The precise reason I will BUY the spacers instead of designing and building my own. Not that I cant...but that I don't WANT to.
