  1. Tpjr what mods you got going on ? I mean what are the mods for cooling, sealed, lower end, etc etc
  2. i hear ya man Almost $300 for a mini Oscope.....
  3. http://www.icixsound.com/iv/view_video.php...=&category= This is a really good demonstration of what nick is saying... About the DMM I read that everywhere about the DMM prevents clipping.... but at least i know the truth about it now..... I am going to order me one of those hand held Oscilloscope like in the video..... I hope they aren't expensive.. Does anyone know what type he is using EDIT : found it http://www.electrical-contractor.net/The_Store/EX/381265.htm
  4. Don't adjust the gains on the amp without using a DMM to avoid clipping... Just because the sub doesn't make a popping or any mechanical noise doesn't mean your not giving it a clipped signal...
  5. I'd upgrade the vehicle electrical system and get a BL with cooling or 2 12" Q's
  6. The "Q" as i have been told is rated for 1k stock but can handle up to 1300 with good gain settings and volume control... With the BP option that could bring the handling up to possibly around 1600 watts.... truth be told you can hook up a 10,000 watt amp to the sub and if you have volume control, xovers/sub filters and gains set correctly it will "play" nicely....
  7. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...c=8475&st=0 Your not alone brother
  8. there was a discussion about massive amps here http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7004
  9. Tpj which is you man ? and is that a kool aid suv in the back B) More pics more pics tha guy on the far right kneeling looks like an installer i know named Ron
  10. I'd settle for pics of nick, shawn and scott just to put faces to the names

actually it was more like "I wish CA&E reviewed the Q" But the title did say "Q reviewed by CA&E" then the body of the posts said "ok maybe not exactly but ...... " EDIT Hey I found it http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=8399

No problem man that's what "we" are here for If you do want to use it like a"bridge" type mode I called Greg at US amps about this question.. just use right positive and left negative.. No added gain anywhere other then the fact that speaker 2 input doesn't look out of place...

Copper coil gives you more low end response and is great for sealed... Flatwind allows more thermal handling... neither i suppose directly gives you a gain in SPL... SPL imo is install dependent (enclosure, power, electrical etc etc) BP power gives the sub better chance to cool ..... So it increases the thermal handling and i believe it gives it a bit more mechanical improvement... I would opt for the copper coils with BP option... they kinda give you the best of both worlds.... Copper coil for the lower response and the BP option for more thermal and mechanical handling....
  14. buddy I will definitely be contacting you after i get my Q's for that tint man... I'll shoot you a PM to schedule an appointment for tint for SURE. I will need your expert eye on the tint of choice for my car.... I am sure you've done Scion tC's so let me know which looks the best (if there are like titanium, smoke etc etc I'm a noob with tint)? i want the highest grade possible (supreme right) and darkest legal.....
  15. jimj your right i should've clarified that the base QTC for sealed enclosures are around .707 and below or above that will give peaky responses both ways... jockin email is best
  16. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Rwo5MuJCjmU/c...=500CDA9887#Tab WOW pretty nice

hope Scott gave you permission cause these are nice... ? Last i heard he only allowed for you to make shirts for yourself due to some legal jargon... http://www.zazzle.com/rlv/isapi/designall....073339956948900 I'd be all over this one if it had the subs on the back and the Fi logo on the front

  19. Key words serious electric system.
  20. theabunai replied to Impact9's topic in US AMPS
Uhm it's a mono block there is no "bridge mode" it is wired parallel internally..... EDIT : Damn didn't read 90accordman posts i went straight to posting what i noticed right off the bat
  21. Jockin The reason they don't offer a "best spec" is that it depends on what the listener wants to achieve from the subs in relation to their system.. for sealed smaller airspace affects the QTC of the enclosure and gives you more SQ and the larger the box the more peak and bottom end you get... same for ported as well... So it would depend on what you plan to do, SPL, Daily, SQ and the kind of power you got to throw at it... When in doubt you can shoot nick an email.... He has helped quite a few bunch of people out with their box... But don't forget to include all the things i mentioned.... As for a shipping quote.... I emailed scott for one but he must be backlogged with email badly..... So i emailed nick and he went and investigated it for me.... So you can try scott or nick I am awaiting a reply for the paypal address i can send my payment to so i can order my Q's woot woot EDIT: Nick to the rescue again on the paypal address.... If it didn't sound so gay i would almost kiss him !!
  22. jockin no chit lol I am looking to get my tC tinted soon (i just bought it in december) Maybe i'll come by and get a quote
  23. Here's what i could find Three.1 from audiocontrol
  24. I know US amps have their XT series made in Korea and their merlin lines get their parts made US except for the board it's stamped in korea but the rest assembled in US.. I believe it is to get costs down...
  25. I was looking at some pioneer stuff too someone emailed me this link and i read through the whole post http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.p...light=ground+hu It sorta turned me away from pioneer.... I don't know if this is a problem with the models you are choosing from nor do i know if pioneer fixed this issue (or even if it is an issue)... just thought i'd post it though If i find anything on the kenwood i'll let you know
