  1. Ahh I see now, So I will have to back the Gains off or check my settings again. I have a DMM built into the amps and is very accurate(Never realized it untill i plugged in a DMM to test) and it neevr ever dips below 12 Except when the car is off and the system has been playing for a while.. Lastly, how would that test Impedence for the sub setup? If the subs arent hooked up? Ya know what im saying
  2. How do I check with my DMM? I am pretty sure. I mean its wired.. - of Coil 1 to + of coil 2 and + of Coil 1 to amp and - of coil 2 to amp Tejcurrent: I wondered if It had something to do with that. I believe I am clipping so i kept it turned down. One setting was messed up after i set it with the DMM so that is entirely possible...That was on my list of things to do for sunday. I have checked all the wires and everything seems good.
  3. well that or it was just rescedualed..which happens sometimes through UPS
  4. Jesus, i am just out of it today... Sorry its an Alpine M1005 and Im using a dual 1ohm voice coil wired to 2ohms...
  5. I have never had this problem untill I started using my FI sub... So hopfully someone can shed some light on the subject.. When hitting major bass notes on full tilt, the amp shuts off and shows CUR..Which is excessive current. What is this and how the hell do I fix it?
  6. Thanks I saw the link on caraudioforums, in my search for a good deadener...which is why i chose damplifier...
  7. I was thinking 1 layer of Damplifier Pro....thats pretty thick stuff...

pucking dumbass lol happens to the best of us.. I dont think 8g will fit honestly. But...you could always use Banana Plugs(i like them better anyways) and get them for 8g wire.. http://www.silversonic.com/docs/products/Connectors3.html Then just plug them into the end of the terminal(the little hole thats on top of the terminals)

Or maybe he wants to know how big of a wire you can fit on the sub terminals...
  10. Yeah I have checked the rules... So what is Well?
  11. Alright I started on one more box last week and I am ditching it already. Well im going to finish it for my friends sub, and then start over. I need advice though. Its a daily driver, but I want it to go as loud as possible. I think Ill stay with 32hz 8 Cubes Box Design thanks to rpfuror on caraudio.com Round the ports And 45's in every corner Double Baffled Bracing Any other ideas? Will Sound Deadener(Second Skin) make that much of a difference in SPL score?

Well I didnt do it on purpose and she wasnt 70..lol more like late 40's Im only 20 so when i say older, its usually 40-50 Right now I have a nice design for 8 cubes @ 32hz with 98Sq In of Port area. Will fit perfect and has the rear firing port like I wanted. Is it worth it? I mean more volume?
  13. I do love those Rockford amps..they just look amazing... Awesome build my man
  14. 45 Bucks an hour on the Term Lab at a well known shop. They have won alot of the USACi comps... They leave me alone or come out with me and they will help me with settings and what not to decide what the best setup for me is for DD and then give me the settings for SPL comps. The guy I talked to(My friend used to go to him as well for SQ comps) said that we will be done in way less than an hour...but the extra time is nice to screw around with things.. Any thoughts on that? I thought it was a good deal

HAha yeah, oh and i forgot, friday when i was coming home from work, i drove through a side street and was waiting at an intersection where its pretty quiet. This older lady is walking in front of me, and i have 2 step on....she kinda looks at me cause the music is loud but keeps walking...when the bass line dropped i think she chit her pants...she fudgeing jumped 10 feet in the air..not literally but it definitely startled her...

Well the wow factor is there.... I got to be DD last night for a bunch of my friends. So after we all piled into the jeep, one of my buddies who loves car audio wanted me to crank it. He just looked at me and mouthed the words Holy chit... So later we are just cruising and I have some Ying Yang Twins wanging and mt buddy in the back taps me on the shoulder and says can you turn this down until im done smoking... So i turn it down and ask "problems?" and he just looks at me and goes dude, I cant inhale the smoke... I noticed that to, I mean I can smoke, but it makes it feel like my throat is closing up from the vibrations, and it litterally takes your breath away. If you try to breath in during a heavy bass note, its hard to breath in...

fudge man its free...who cares if it is hanes with FI on it... Its to help rebuild the forums...
  20. Well the bottom is 16.75 obviosuly but the top im unsure of...a tad over 18in. Im planning on doing that and im just going to measure it..thats your best bet...
  21. 16.75 i asked the same question lol. Apparently its on the subs page..and after looking again i found it...
  22. Grim replied to Fi Car Audio's topic in General Fi
Doesnt seem like alot of air space for those subs... I might go with those exact dimensions for my 18in Build..
  23. Grim replied to Fi Car Audio's topic in General Fi
Tremor, I love it. Can you give me the specs on that box. Dimensions, Volume?
  24. Grim replied to Grim's topic in Fi Technical
40x...... Cant be anymore than 40 wide...no deeper than 26in... I guess I can go up to 20 tall... This summer I may invest in a LCD rear view mirror...then disconnect the backup camera from my Head unit and plug into that, that way I can build a wall and use alot more space....for now, I need to be able to see out back
  25. I know this is a couple weeks old but i gotta respond to this. I may not be the most knowlegable box builder in the world, but I do know woodworking... 1. You dont want to use gorilla glue for a box...trust me, just dont 2. Even if you could, these no reason. Wood glue is PLENTY strong and with wood it can be and usually is stronger than Gorilla Glue.. 3. No need for the biscut joints, but would be interesting. Either way, you dont have to be any better, just grab some clamps, some titebond or Loctite wood glue and build the box...its not hard...
