  1. He might be rollin through on Sunday but not in the competition. Not sure if he'll have the time off work yet. Chris are you in FLA? PM me your # and maybe we can meet up at SBN and if Doug comes through I'll get you a demo!!! Joe Info sent...
  2. Will that truck be at SBN by chance?
  3. It appears all of my efforts were for nothing. My home AC died today. Yeah. This means no fun for me this summer. I fugure at a minimum I will be cool.
  4. Sick install! I like the tv's too.
  5. Nice demo! And FYI, the vids never get old.
  6. Are you talking about my truck with the 34 MTX 10s? BLUE THUNDER. Didn't dawn on me till now you might be talking about mine, I was just thinking that Doug's S10 was a 95? or newer model with the rounded front end compared to 91-94. On a side note while talkin S10s of course the original year 83? to 89 where the "BOX STYLE CHEVY TRUCKS" and though I like all s10s I chose an 88 for myself in this new or (my old "kinda") 418s FI w/copper coils. Also went with Blazer so I didn't have to do the whole topper thing although zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz now it's not as easy to put the box n the truck through the back hatch. Chris do you have any pics you might be able to post or email of the 92 SBNs? Anybody, Any old Daytona pics? New Topic coming to a thread near you! New Topic "old skool thread" sneak preview hehe J2Z I was originally talking about Slayer. I will see if I can find the pics. I have a ton from every show I went to but they are all prints taken with whatever camera I could get my hands on. I will definitely look in the office closet(aka the dungeon). I look forward to seeing a thread full of old school goodness! Slayer was originally a Nissan p-up truck and later a 1994 S10. In 1992 Doug got the record at 153.8 in the 501-1000 class with his SLAYER Nissan P-up Truck with 12-15s Orion XTRs powered by 5 Orion 2100 HCCAs in a clamshell design. Later in 1994 in his brand new continued theme SLAYER Chevy S10 with the same settup beat his previous record that was still standing with a 155.9 Again it was the exact same same settup over 2 db louder in a his newer SLAYER truck. The truck at the 92 SBNs was the Slayer Nissan, mine was the Blue Thunder S10 with 34 10s. Will put up a link here when I start a thread for Old Skool Daytona SBN Pics. Ah yes, you are absolutely correct! The only pictures I have are of the S10 though. The pics I found were from a car show at the fairgrounds in Gainesville Florida. They had these crazy hanging lights in side the main building and they would hop around. They spaced the cars out so they wouldn't be directly under the lights. :)I need to figure out how to scan these pics and get them up. They bring back a ton of memories.
  7. Nice project!

  9. That S10 was one of the trucks that peaked my interest back in 92'. I have been hooked ever since. I have actually only missed SBN one year since. Too bad it has always been as a spectator. I hope that changes when I graduate. I look forward to seeing your progress, and hearing that S10.

This is almost 100% exactly what my Q's are in. I wish I had experience with your truck to help out but I have never done anything in that gen Explorer. Everything looks great so far! Keep up the good work!
  11. Three people in this thread have answered your question on more than one occassion. Buy whatever you want. Noone here will tell you what to do with your money. If you want the best matching Fi sub for that amplifier, GET THE Q. Period.
  12. Looks great man! Where did you mount the amp? What is it tuned to?
  13. filtor1 replied to Naledge503's topic in General Fi
You must haven't heard a sub bottom out before. It makes alot more noise than that. Nice vid BTW. Not in any of my installs. I have bottomed out my mids before though, not a nice sound at all. It is rather difficult to tell in a compressed video though.
  14. No, not the BL. The standard Q with no BP option will be perfect. Make sure to set your gains correctly. That amp can drive a BL, it just isn't ideal for your amp.
  15. filtor1 replied to Naledge503's topic in General Fi
Awesome. People ask me all the time if the Q is really that good. Then they sit in my car for a few minutes. The seem to be dissappointed in their equipment afterward.
  16. Wow! How did that happen?
  17. filtor1 replied to muddybass's topic in General Fi
Wow bro, that is a nice score. Congrats! What vehicle is that in?
  18. sir, i need help in deciding because i saw scotts post and he said that the bp is just needed by those who want to push their sub to the limit. i just want to get the most out of my sub and i want to get the flatwindcoil. im just having trouble with the bp. because scott said that it doesnt matter. would i get the bp option?? i have a dls ultimate series a6 amp. and i dont plan on getting a extra battery. ill just change my wiring gauge. if i get the bp will my stock battery be enough?? and whats the weight of an fi ssd 12 inches??? thanks The A6 is good for 1200 watts (rated) at 1ohm. I would recommend getting the standard Q with no BP option. This amp is stabel to 1 ohm, so if you do a single sub, get the dual 2ohm voice coil configuration. The A6 is a bit strong for a single ssd without adding options. You really could go either way. My first suggestion, in my opinion, would be your best route. I am not sure what the exact weight of the ssd 12 is, sorry. Regards, Chris
  19. Man, I need to find someone locally that has built a pair of these. Might be a new, less expensive, build until I can afford the line array. These look incredible. Great job!
  20. filtor1 replied to Naledge503's topic in General Fi
Awesome! Itmust be in the video. Your poor car.
  21. filtor1 replied to Naledge503's topic in General Fi
It sounded like they were bottoming out when you had the lid open?
  22. The upgrades are available to taylor each sub to an individuals goals and system design. They are to give the customers more options to work with.
  23. Those subs are just too dang sexy!
