		AA any good?

Simple answer......yes. To a simple question. For a more detailed answer, you have to ask a more spectific question, as far as what your looking for in a sub. (Output, SQ, Size of driver, Power, budget). Something tells me Pipo is looking for sheer output. Call it a hunch.

Infinite Baffle up and running - Thanks to mach5 & Aaron

That is beautiful. I showed it to my wife and she wants me to keep this in mind when we get our next house. Unfortunately I am restricted in the current house. Great job though!

Enclosure, for one or two Q's.

I have also seen single 12" setups in those cars that sounded very good. I personally would do a single ported 12 through the rear deck. With your space requirements, power, and car, this would be, IMO, the way to go.

I will look into that amp. Do you happen to have the specs on it by chance? The price sounds right. Not that I am opposed to spending, I just want to maximize output/clarity per dollar. I guess we all try and accomplish that to one extent or another. I have no issue seperating the subs. I thought about doing that before and though that this would greatly simplify the enclosure construction. The only would be dropping the hight of the stage lower and if that would negatively effect the sound. I suppose I could just leave the area where the subs would be as a "stand" built into the main enclosure. I like the idea of having dual/dual subs with infinite placement options to eliminate as many dead spots as possible. Thanks, I will send you the pics as well as post them here if the project turns out nice. we shall see. Chris

It is divided into 3 areas two of which are attatched rooms. The two attatched room have standard 8' ceilings and the main room the ceilings start at 8' and increase to the peak of 11'-1 1/2" peak in the center of the room. The floor measurements are 15'- 6" X 15-10 1/2". This is the main listening area. The other two are 9'-6" X 11-3" and 5'-10 1/2 X 11'. So the total area that they will need to fill is medium in size.

Another inquiry, they chose to use MDF and then paint it. I would like to do a nice wood finish. Any suggestions? I have in my mind a "light" "cherry" color. It won't match this room but it will make them stand out and that is huge for me. Not that 6'-7' tall line arrays with 4 subs won't, I really want them to pop and be soothing at the same time. With that said, I have built boxes using MDF and know I won't get the results I want with that, so what kind of wood should I be looking for? Birtch possibly. I don't want to go crazy with the cost of wood, but it may be necessary to achieve my goal. Let me know what you all think.

Holy crap! Good thing I was leaning toward the Rotel amps. Thank you for allowing me to learn from your experiences. This is one of the main reasons I made this thread, to make the best choices I can with my limited experience. I think I am going to narrow the amplifier choice down to Rotel at this point. They seem to have a fantastic rating for quality and reliability. I will add to the first post whenever I make a decision so that people who just want a results page don't have to look through what is, in my opinion, going to be a decent sized thread. Thanks John!

You don't want to know how much I've spent there Sometimes I've been able to meet up with the seller in person...which is always cool, and very safe from a shipping/payment perspective. Indeed, i can imagine. When you get a free few minutes, would you mind looking at my options and letting me know what you think.

Last on the list is tweeters. I am used to what I have in my car and my Boston's in the living room. I have Rainbow Powerlines CS's (Cal 27's) with a bit over 400watts per door (mid and tweeter) in my car, only running fronts and whatever comes with the Boston's for the house. I know the Boston tweets are silk dome but have no further information on them. I really like the appearance of the ribbons but have found a very small selections on PE. I can only hope for the kind of detail I get in my car with the Cal27's. I am sure I will find something. please make some suggestions in this area. I will give up the look of the ribbons to get the sound I want.

On to the subs. I wish that Ascendant offered the Arsenals in a D2 VC configuration. The Havocs are but they would require huge power and aren't available in 10"s. Edit: To correct myself it looks like I can do series/parallel with 2 D4's and end up with a 4ohm load. This will work with most of the apms I has chosen as well. Ascendant Audio Arsenal ($165.00ea.) The amps are different but the box is the same. https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript I have been running a piar of the Q 12's in my car and have been very pleased. I didn't want to leave these out of the running. I do prefer an all black cone though. I don't think that would be an issue if I wanted them that way. As I have used this type of sub I didn't want to rule it out. I am going to add the sub they chose because it will fit the bill as well. Extensively vented motor eliminates compression and allows quiet excursion Extra-thick black anodized aluminum cone for maximum rigidity Triple shorting ring motor for ultra-low distortion 4-layer coil for high power handling Optimized parameters for small enclosures Highest quality materials throughout for long-lasting performance I am going to end this post here as there are many possibilities for wiring and ohm load matching. So I will stick with those three for now. I am still very open to suggestions here as usual! One more jab here. I have heard about and heard an SVS sub in a HT application. I was extremely impressed with its range. Do you guys know anything about their drivers?
