Can we bring the reviews back?
That sounds awesome.

Can we bring the reviews back?
This is exactly what I was thinking. Not trying to do anything but make a suggestion.

Can we bring the reviews back?
I see people that may not be checking the review forums coming here to get information/reviews on Fi subs. Is it possible to copy my review back to this forum for reference purposes? Just a thought to make it easier to access the information.

RE vs. FI
For any information about their warranty, check their site. https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...erms.shopscript As far as the choice. ssd's are the way to go.

Fi Q 12" Review
Agreed. I haven't heard of any being delivered from Fi that were damaged yet. So the packaging is doing it's job.

SSD 12 w/ copper coil for SQ???
Great choice either way.

Fi Q 12" Review
You should copy some of this into a nice review thread in the General section. I was thinking about doing the same and adding some more thoughts for the 8455 too. It sounds like you are very happy with the HU. Thanks for the info.

Fi Q 12" Review
Thanks man. I look forward to the X review as I have not had the chance to play with them. Don't forget a picture thread too.

Fi Q 12" Review
Yeah, Eclipse actually came out with a few models post 8455 that have only 5V pre-outs. Customers barked, I assume, and they released the 5100 and 7100 models that boast the 8V that people were wanting. Personally I think that was a good move as their products were marketed toward an SQ audience. That was one of my gripes with my 9833 as well. One of the few actually, along with the lack of tuning options. How is the 9857? I can't wait to have a set of comps I can bi-amp. The Q's overpower the Contours too. I know exactly where you are.

What amp are you getting?

Understanding Power Compression
I am working on a detailed explanation of the different BL technologies and their respective advantages/disadvantages. I will try to get that up by next weekend. Awesome. I look forward to it. Thank you for taking your time to share this information with everyone.

Hoffman's Iron Law
I have always "known" a little bit about this topic, but am definitely happy you posted this thread. It gives "meat" to the subject of necessary comprimise when deciding which driver, enclosure, and amount of power to use.

Understanding Power Compression
One more quick question. What is "split coil" and what is its function? Great read!

Understanding Power Compression
When power is applied to the voice coil, the metal becomes hotter, and resistance increases. How is this measured? I know it happens. I am just curious. It seems to be logical to assume this increase in resistance would be linear to some degree. The measurement of 200deg C will double the resistance and result in a 3db loss in acoustical output is an great example. This also makes me wonder about different coil compositions and what implications said variable would have on not only to the rise itself but the equation used to measure and/or estimate the rate and amount of change. Edit: I just went through the Pinned explaination of how to measure impedance rise. I posted too soon.
