I think paradigm still makes really good speakers considering the price. My dad has a pair of atoms that are probably 20 years old and they just sound great. Much better than the new stuff. I don't know what happened. Probably got bought by some umbrella company. Seems to be what is happening to a lot of copmanies these days. To answer your question though, I still think that the entry level paradigm is good stuff for the price, but like bose301s mentioned, B&W makes some great stuff for a bit more. I would agree with JimJ. Not a fan of klipsch. Tons of good options out there though, don't get fixated on one or the other. Listen to them and make the choice for yourself. In the end, you are going to be the one listening to them. In my opinion, you are on the right track.
  2. I have run a pair of MAW15s sealed and I have also run a single IXL15.2.2 sealed. I was very happy with both! I find that the pair of MAW15s output a bit more, but the IXL puts out far more than enough for me. Both handle 1000W with ease. Keep in mind the pair of MAW15s requires a larger box. Good luck with the build and have fun!
  3. Thanks Neil. Always find your write-ups enlightening.
  4. Bad timing... I just threw all my giant bags of money into the river yesterday. Should have said something earlier Mark.
  5. Sorry to hear it. They are great subs. Any sort of very low budget replacement in mind? Or will the IXLs and SPLs be the lineup for a while now?
  6. No ground issues with mine. I love it.
  7. Nice review! I look forward to seeing the actual driver.
  8. I have the exact same patron
  9. The perks of living near Mark... I'd be curious to see what this thing looks like if you get a chance
  10. I know some pretty clever 10 year old!
  11. I would do more than a single 4" port unless you flare it properly. I get a bit of noise out of mine at higher outputs levels.
  12. That's about 10KHz short of where I'd start to consider something marginally "full range" I think what he is trying to say is that you don't need to cross them because they have a natural roll off.
  13. Fair enough, but it wouldn't hurt for him to say that nothing is certain. My guess is that wants to keep even that a secret.
  14. I don't know why everyone is so hesitant to reply in this forum Ga Foo. I'm also curious on the status of the 8s. Maybe he wants to keep it a secret haha who knows.
  15. Can't wait! Just one question. Will orders be taken all day regardless, or will they only be taken until current stock is gone?
  16. What they said! You run a fantastic company Mark. I'm hoping for an IXL15 for Christmas haha. If not, I'll have to buy one myself.
  17. I know what I want for christmas
  18. Any news?
  19. AWESOME!
  20. Awesome. Looking forward to seeing how it does!
  21. Yes, if his friends have some crazy boxes or strange setups that are very peaky, he might think that his is being outperformed, but it sounds more to me like a crossover issue or something. Hard to say without hearing it...
  22. I agree with everyone so far. Doesn't sound like the box to me... Mike P has a good idea with swapping the sub out into someone else's car. I would suggest pursuing the problem further before building a ported box. I have 2 MAW 15s sealed and output isn't an issue for me. Good luck!

    Edmonton, Alberta, and loving it.
  24. Just wondering, will the M series will still be in production once the IXL series has been filled out? Does anyone have an opinion about this? PS: Can't wait to see what the IXL 15 is like!
