  1. Directed also makes good alarm products if I remember correctly... and as long as they are installed properly, an alarm is better than no alarm. It just depends on how much you value your stuff.
  2. Compustar is simply the best alarm system i've ever used... Not to mention Drone mobile compatible units make it so that you can control your alarm system from your droid/iphone as well.
  3. very informative He almost always is. And when he isn't he is way too informative
  4. They were built by TC Sounds for Sunfire Audio's home theater passive radiator cube with integrated plate amp. Rumour has it that the drivers came in 1/4" taller than the initial spec, and since Sunfire had already built the enclosures, they rejected the production. I swooped in to snag them at a discount and am now offering them here in like kind. Seriously, at $89 + shipping, you will not find a better 8" driver, period. Quite a few of these have shipped out over the past couple of weeks, but I have about 20 left. Remember, you can wire a pair together in parallel for a 3 ohm load, three for a 2 ohm load, or six for a 1 ohm load! These eights do not mess around, and honestly if I wasn't trying to clear up space in my house to pursue my other hobbies, I wouldn't dream of selling them so cheap. If I didn't have a bills + holiday shopping going on right now i'd be all over these... I'm just hoping that when some cash clears up you still have 2, I think I have an idea of where I want to put them for a stealth enclosure... What's the mounting depth on these?
  5. I tried to talk Mark into doing it a long time ago pre-10" Xcon and he said Scott wouldn't do it. Talked to Nick and Nick explained that the cone geometry on big 10" woofers is not very good. 10" basket is not good for the Xcon, so some suspension changes had to be done, hence the lowered Xmax of the Xcon 10. Just a suggestion, you should find out what basket Jacob from Sundown is using for his Nightshade 10" customs... Seems to have way more clearance.
  6. Thank you...
  7. SP4 going to be built available at any other sizes? just curious.
  8. I tried to talk Mark into doing it a long time ago pre-10" Xcon and he said Scott wouldn't do it. Talked to Nick and Nick explained that the cone geometry on big 10" woofers is not very good. Well as it turns out, dbdrag changed the class restrictions to such an extreme that I would most likely be moving from street A to B, which means I can use 12" zcons. This means my carpentry skills will really be put to the test b/c 12" woofers won't fit vertically, means i'll be using some crazy geometry... LOL
  9. HTC Incredible2 in Red... Will be my only blackfriday purchase from the comfort of my recliner. Just picked up an Otterbox Defender from Amazon to protect it.
  10. I used Varad lighting, actually to be more specific I used their motorcycle lighting kit and absolutely loved it. http://www.varad.com/v4/index.php?i=1
  11. Probably a question better answered in PM, don't want it going all over the interwebz
  12. No 10" Zcon's at this time. Can a 10" one be made? or something similar using the Zcon motor and some combination of soft parts?.... I see Jacob is using a new basket to make a 10" nightshade, but I want to represent all of SSA if I build another car. I guess this question is more for mark?. My timeline would be atleast 4 months out.
  13. First question is is a ZCON 10" doable, even just as a custom?... If I come back, i'm going at it no holds barred. Was thinking in my crazy mind 2 Saz-2500D's and 2 10" (would love for it to be Zcons)
  14. Mark and Aaron, i'm starting to get that itch again... and my father just happens to have purchased a 4 door 98 neon that is just sitting in our driveway...
  15. Thanksgiving killed the hop today... Just saying
  16. A little more expensive than previous options, but there are atleast 2 sundown SAZ-1500d's in the classifieds section, he's asking for 325, but entertaining offers... They are rock solid amazing amps.
  17. Fuck you cowboys.... I knew us Fins were the long shot, but at least we weren't blown out.
  18. When you clamped it, was it a sine wave (aka burp frequency) or on music?
  19. Ok.. what amp are you using? and what is your final impedance ( in other words what is the impedance the amp is seeing)? Caps lock isn't needed, I know I can come across as condescending, but I am really just trying to keep the peace while spreading some clarity and understanding.
  20. Aaron, you know I have a love affair with TC sounds... my checking account hates when I see her at the bar and spend too much money on her. I loved my OEM 10"s
  21. I think I might just have to break the bank and buy one of these... Curious as to who built these for you, were they built by tcsounds? or audioque? If you decided to send me one for free, i'd promise to love it everyday .
  22. Before this becomes a pissing contest. I = V/R Current= Voltage/ Resistance For the sake of keeping this simple we will assume that Resistance isn't changing. Now without knowing anything about your amp other than MY ASSUMPTION that it is a 1500 watt class D mono block and your subs are wired for a final impedance of 2 ohms. Your amp should be capable of producing 1500 watts rms @ 13.2v. @ 1 ohm so approximately 750 watts @ 2 ohms. You are estimating that it is producing between 600 and 800 watts. So if we are only changing voltage by (once again your estimation) by ~.5-.8v. ( and just so we are clear here, you are talking about increasing voltage by roughly 4%) How are you expecting a current increase of 200+ % So yes your math on electrical theory is flawed. A 4% increase in voltage will not net you a 200% or greater increase in amperage.
  23. Have never heard of ID products having continuous issues, hoping that this was just an isolated incident. Can't say much if they got bought out though, like Diamond Audio did... Haven't been relevant with current products, so I do apologize.
  24. Can we call this the Literal form of carpooling?
  25. But you have to love the automatic gangsta lean the seating position pretty much mandates
