    I forsee spare tire removal
  2. Are you back for a while? That seems to be the plan, already started chumming with Jacob again.

I would suggest 2 2,000 watt clean power amps, or even a pair of refurbed saz-1500d's if you can get your hands on them. You will eventually be looking for a better battery and a bigger alt if you go down this route.
  4. haha i couldnt help but picture a teenager doing the gangsta lean in their car tryna be all cool when i read that. in regards to that, why dont you sit up straight like a normal person and set your front stage up nicely? i second the DLS's...i like every set in their line that i've heard. Actually he really doesn't have to sit up nicely, some people find slouching comfortable, a decent front stage will compensate for that, in several sq cars i've been in, you actually sit further back than you normally would, take Jeff's camaro for example. They are already known for their very "lean back seating", and on top of that his seats slide back more than normal.
  5. yea, ditch the rears, you don't go to a rock concert and face away from the stage. You said SQ and therefore will get sq related responses. Staging, Imaging etc... All require the soundstage to be as far in front of you as possible. Trust me I used to think I needed rears too until I got a chance to sit in a professionally built competition sq car. The audio ecstasy of sq in a proper set-up is better than drugs. What's your budget, what kind of processing do you have, where do you want your tweets and mids. Or are you just looking for better sound.

Very few alignments available for 18" btl in that trunk, I doubt there are very many differnces from my old neon trunks but I could always check (sister has an 01 as well)... Honestly I'd think that 2 12"s would be loudest rear facing, rear ported. But that would require twice as much power... 18" top firing wouldn't be horrible but you would automatically loose your spare, I highly doubt you could do forward firing with any of those set ups and benefit from seats down either... You are going to have electrical issues regardless, 2,000 or 4,000 watts on those alts isn't fun, and I would know.
  7. 4x Saz-2000d, or 2x sax-3500d would get my vote
  8. How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood??
  9. Would work great with ssd's, but even they would start to crave a little bit more power.
  10. What kind of music do you listen to, and what do you have for power?
  11. It's missing a few expletives ;p
  12. Oh ya and to add.... surprisingly this brought a huge smile to my face for awhile after.... it still plays and doesn't sound to off since its in the trunk of a diamante playing a sub without a dustcap, and it just shot a piece out of itself... hmmm...
  13. Even the most careful people can have mishaps, Glad to hear you will be ok. And remember kids, don't play with powertools.
  14. I would have to dig up some research, but i'm pretty sure scott from Fi would do a much better job explaining why slugs don't = power, just look at the btl's.
  15. present and accounted for
  16. Mark stop being a tease and show us the goods already >>
  17. Every time I have ever tested this (well almost every time) sub back port back in a car without folding seats as long as ample room is between the trunk and the port has always provided the best results.
  18. And one last thing, there is a reason why most spl comps require podiums for walled classes, your hearing is the most precious gift god ever gave you, don't be stupid enough to throw that away.
  19. Ok i've been out of the scene for a while but I'll break down your post a little bit. What's your budget again? Not trying to sound like an audio-prude, but people rarely realize the cost of going big, most of these posts, the proper electrical support costs more than their intended systems. 2x Saz-3500d's= What vehicle is this going in (probably in your sig, but I didn't read it) What are your electrical plans You said streetbeater aka you need lots' o alts Oh and probably 4 batteries g31 minimum. Add in the wiring. I admire your big goals but this isn't as easy as buying subs, building box, running some wire, dropping your windows and pounding some bass. Also I would like to point out that in the wrong box, a saz-3500d will most likely not show much of a gain over a 2000 watt amplifier (and trust me I'd love to sell you on Sundown audio, Jacob's an awesome guy and won't steer you wrong). You have to take into account thermal compression especially when trying to go big. Also high power and low tuning (not meant as in low tuning for you sq guys) often don't mix. Also previously mentioned, that quite often with the right power and an experienced builder, small boxes can and will be louder than big boxes. We aren't just trying to bust your stones, but also make you realize this is much bigger than you are thinking and trying to help you in the long run.
  20. Whoa that Is hard. 100lbs. of deadener. That weighs more than some people I know lol'z Is that the loudest you heard??? 168.7 and only b/c his windshield broke but than again I live in the crazy northeast and those maine folk are loud as (explitive)... what was his name Bob Perillo. yea I've seen him at every comp i've been too, if you want to see loud, youtube him.
  21. Slimmest 8"s I know of, off of the top of my head is still Hertz (i've been out of the scene for a year + but i believe they come as a component set and are in the space series).
  22. A long break from a lot of my life, dealt with some death, some hard life etc... But I will be popping my head in here more often. The recession hit hard and I don't have the same income as before but I'm working on that and bringing car audio back into my life. I probably won't have anything up and running this season, but that all depends on the job situation. 2010 looks good though.
  23. I'm working construction (carpentry and masonry) for the family and I work at FedEx. I don't get much sleep so I wont be on as much till the house is done (we are flipping a house that had a crumbling foundation)
  24. time to catch up on some sleep
