Welcome to the IHoP
sometimes I really hate people. I am allowed to make a mistake once in a while. Sorry I'm not perfect.

Do sealed boxes have a tuning frequency?
What I can tell you is that a sealed alignment will be quieter, but it doesn't suffer from unloading. Your ported enclosure is tuned to 30 hz and your SSF is probably right there. Your ssf is probably 12-dB/octave which means that at 25 hz the sealed enclosure might be louder. The sealed enclosure does have a steeper roll-off than a ported box, but the SSF may be steeper. um wow maybe you should go back to CA. Um wow. I'm allowed to make a mistake once in my life. I'm not from CA. I will be honest, not only was what you said completely unnecessary, it was unwarranted. You could have done as helotaxi did, which was to correct my mistake, but instead you felt the need to e-bash me for making a mistake.

Do sealed boxes have a tuning frequency?
Sorry, a bad choice of wording on my part. I was trying to say that a ported enclosure can be louder.

The reason why I mentioned too much port area is because the larger the port is, the less port velocity you have. If your port is too close to the hatch, it will also hurt the port velocity and change the tuning of your enclosure. Let the sub break in, and try doing hair tricks in the upper 30hz frequency area. Doing hair tricks is part skill part luck. Even the best spl guys in the world can't get a hair trick in the same vehicle with different set-ups every time. (I'm talking about street guys, those walled off b-pillar guys have an advantage.)

Curious about Amp for Legatia L841-3 active?
Zapco dc series 650.6. It's not cheap but has amazing crossovers, tuning. I think it does 100x4 @ 4 ohm and 180x2 iirc.

Nothing better than being in a jacked up redneck truck, rolling through the city screaming the words to barbie girl in German. I think Rammstein did that one too.

Do sealed boxes have a tuning frequency?
I can't answer that from my computer chair. There are too many factors for me to be able to answer definitively. Sealed enclosures are simple in theory, but they aren't the most efficient solution. Musically speaking the sealed alignment should play a note better than a ported box below its tuning.

on a good note
Why buy a 2kw watt hifonics when you probably could have gotten a much better 1kw amp?

Active/RCA/9887 Woes
My advice is to disconnect the rca's. Start with hooking up the mid-bass rca's to the rear out of the deck and into channel 1&2 of the amp. Hook the tweeters up to their own rca's from the front out of the deck into channel 3&4. I would set the low pass on channel 1&2 at 2.5khz and the high pass at 50 hz just for safety. Channel 3&4 I would set the highpass @ 2.5 khz for safety. I would keep the gains low and turn on the system. Using the crossovers on the deck, set the crossovers. I would avoid using the passives on the tweeters, just keep the gain low on channel 3/4. Once you have the x-overs set on the deck, turn the x-overs off on the amp (with the power off). And turn it back on. Keep the volume low, turn it up slowly. Keep your ears listening for over-excursion.

also you should realize that if they were on after midnight last night it will say they were on today.
