  1. Havoc 18"... check it out. spl of a BL, and SQ of a Q. kinda

give it time... custom made subs can't be shipped out the day they are ordered. 10 days seems a little premature, I'd guess about a month or more. but IDK 4 sure.
  3. over power a BTL...lol. your gonna want at least 2K, if you get a loaded BTL with all the upgrades you could bump up to 3-4K depending on how you use it. 3K is a lot of power to got to 3" coil, but most loaded BTL's seem to take 4K with ease, not constantly mind you, for burps and demoing... It would be quite painful to cruise around @ 4K...lol.
  4. hmmm... decision between a ICON and Fi Bl.... how about a Havoc? has to be one of the best looking drivers available... they are getting great reviews as well... 2, 12" Havocs on 2500watts would slam. there all about the same, get whatever looks best to you. and yeah two 12"s will be louder than 1 15".... just cone area...
  5. yeah but it will do .5 or whatever... right? others have... besides, I had it wired to 4 ohm, and it popped a 300A breaker... So it made just a little bit of power even at that load. dropping down doesn't really get you that much more... "diminishing returns" for the $ the orion can't be beat imo.
  6. thanks, it made sense to me, just wanted to check.
  7. whats the best way to do this? run an isolator or not? I was told by a stereo repair man its best not to run an isolator, just make a run of pos. and ground it, that way both batteries are constantly charging and avail. for current draw from the amps. I'm not well versed in this area... help.
  8. looks about right to me, as far as port noise...? I have never disliked "vented" boxes, its those actual round ports that seem to bother me. If your concerned, round the edges on the inside and opening of the port.
  9. you might meter a Hz or two lower if you really wanted to, could your ears hear the difference... I doubt it. songs play the same freq. indifferent to the subs its going to, so it will sound the same be it 15"s or 18", you just get a little more cone area out of a 18". just FYI, my TC sound 3000 15"s can be tuned all the way down to 10Hz, so size doesn't matter...lol.
  10. as far as amps go, get the biggest you can afford, you can always turn them down but they can only go up so far... ICON vs. Havoc.... almost identical, but I'd lean to the Havoc based soley on looks... its sick.
  11. very nice...
  12. dude... Go to Re audio website, and check out the box design section. plug and play with your measurements until you find something you like, should not take too long, the tune the port to whatever freq. you want... I'd guess around 32 Hz.
  13. My Orion 2500d is a beast.... can be had for around $400 ebay, FYI.
  14. 1000 rms... hmmm. I vote Sound splinter Rl-p 15" a lil out a ur price range, but worth it. or SSA ICON 15" Fi Q 15", take your pick, all great subs...
  15. todays new vids, matt used to run 3 old solo 15"s... I think he likes.... I was beating the CD player to death, I brought my zune, but of course the bat. was dead. I really need to get this thing DB tested soon.
  16. Easter vids., bumping for the family. I did not quite catch the initial jolt my sis got, but you get the idea. Master P I need dubs, screwed. hit soo hard it skips at vol 25, goes to 35. It shakes the car much more than what is captured in the vids, the door handle on the inside must be flexing 1/2" or so.
  17. good stuff as always Steve... BTW, what is the magic DB# for hair tricks....I might just be there....haha.
  18. forgot to mention, its a Team Toxic Bass/ HexiBase horn loaded box design. It uses two freq. cut off ports, it has good range from 30-65Hz, but peaks somewhere from 40-45Hz. I just built it to his spec, two boxes and all, I think one would need a forklift to move it had it been made one box. I do have to say it is one off the cleanest, loudest systems I have ever heard. I would deffinatly recommend his boxes to anyone... I'll get some vids up in a little while.
  19. Mirror shot. back seat down, Orion 2500d.... notice cable and locks on subs...going nowhere. side shot of amp & distro on other side front of orion 8004. back. hhhmmm.... big ports. No more cargo space...oh well, was not using it anyway. I know, not the cleanest of installs...but most of its pretty well hidden. I cant decide if I want to leave the boxes plain, or paint/maybe even a gray truck liner coat...? I'm sure I'll do something later with that but for now I'm taking a break... lots of long hours to get this far.
  20. Runing the Knukoncept 1/0 tool of mass destruction joe, playing with the subs more goodies.... getting started looking good, side plate last thing. time for electrical upgrades....LoadBoss 230A Old and busted vs. new hotness I gotta fit that in there...? view from below and above finishing up on box #1, final sanding.... almost done... sand up the putty spots. good enough for me.... time to wire them up... getting thirsty. I'll post some more "finished" pics in a bit.
  21. very nice.... clean. wish my camera was working so I could upload my horn loaded box pics.

to be honest, I think that voltage drop with that many batteries should be your last concern. If you think you need it, do multiple 1/0 runs from the alt to your bat's, it will help keep em' charged better/quicker. but, imo thats more than enough bat.'s, for only one IA 40.1. as far as subs go.... how many cubes, what r u looking to get outa them...? goals... ect., and we"ll go from there.
  23. ^ for subs, amps, H.O. alt., power wire, extra batt., connectors, wood, bolts screws.... at least that much to be done right. hell, the two sundowns, and the btl's are gonna run you 3K., then go from there....
  24. two subs now... was demoing for the guy that help me build the boxes, and his lil bro. Lil Jon...of course, volume cranking slowly up to about 24 (goes to 35) then he jumped outa the front seat and went into his house.....
  25. nope, W.A. was bumpin Lil Jon on my way to work today.... a lot louder than the song I played on my Zune to hit that score the other day. Just brutal. got a little done tonight, remounted sub and mid amps, to make a little room for the boxes... a little bigger than I figured they would be. rewired all my mids for maybe going active in the front sometime in the future, almost done with that. next, fit the second sub in and bolt them down good. I suppose I should grab a bottle of asprin & hearing plugs for the future passengers. lol.
