1 TC-3000 15" db test today...
I got my orion 2500d back from the stereo doc. last night and wired up one of my subs to the amp @ 4 ohms. didn't play much with the eq. and junk, just set it at about 80Hz, and gain about 3/4. My kinetik 2400 has not got here yet, so its only drawing from the yellow top under the hood at the moment, but it seems to do fine with the load boss 230A alt., at all but full volume, then I need to step on the gas a little to keep the volts up around 12. the box is a "team toxic bass/ hexi-base" horn enclosure tuned to about 45Hz. guys were bored at the shop so I stopped in to test out the single 15" 144.7 db thats on music, a random song.... not bad huh? sounds amazingly clean and powerful. painful actually, but in a good way. thanks for all the help guys, build is still not complete, but when I can figure out my stupid digital camera, I'll post all the build pics., and perhaps a few vids?

help.....I think my amp is toast
so we got everything put in, and long story short, the subs just make a popping sound about every second...kinda funny Ive never heard it before. we wired up one sub to the mid amp and it beats for only 400 watts. so is my amp shot? power supply....? this would be the second time Ive got shafted on an orion 2500d, and I'm about to give up.

Uhm.... Batteries.
well imo you should be running more like 200A plus alt. thats the 1st place to drop some $, then look at battery's. think about it, how much does a High Output alt cost...? about the same as a good bat. right? then why not get what makes amps, instead of storing amps if your concerned about such things....
-
Were to get a High Output alternator
just put in a load boss the other night, seems to be working fine... check ebay. best bang for your buck. lifetime war. mine was rated @ 220A, but benched 230A.

Uhm.... Batteries.
..... great. I as well ordered from this indoaudio ( kenetik HC2400), on ebay a little over two weeks ago. when some other things arrived that was ordered at the same time, I contacted them with a; whats going on? fed-ex, said you printed a label yet have not shipped it yet! think you cant get on that? they responded with, its on backorder. hmmmm. hmmm. think I'll send another message. stingers are good, but I'm pretty sure kenetik rules as far as bat's go. for daily listening, depends some listen louder than others.... your running two 1500d's, so figure your gonna draw 250-300 amps at full tilt. soo many factors come into play.... alternator output? big 3?

fi ssd12 vs aa arsenal 12
^ add mid amp.... 4 sure. but as far as subs go, ummmm.... flip a coin... Fi & A.A. audio are the same company.....FYI. so pick whatever looks best to you, cuz there gonna sound almost identical.

SPL-15 Pre-order - You're nuts if you don't go for it
now you bring out the 15"..... too late 4 me.....

what do you guys know about the Audioque HDC3?
I have not dealt with them personally, but from what Ive heard.... Its a poor mans Digital Design sub, compare to say the 9500 line up. great spl sub for the price, but not too many people run them... which is what led me away from them. There are a few on the forum that run, or used to run them... maybe they'll chime in.

adding a litte SQ sound to my BL madness
BigJon, I went to every stereo store in town... a few times... to compare brands. top choices, were Focal, and MB Quart. I liked the sound of the MB's and went with them....and after almost a year, still love them! I'm running two sets of MB Quart QSD 216; 6.5" comp. set. off an orion 8004 amp. I have not heard anything that can closely compare in SQ and loudness, but I dont have much competition in my town. Most people who sit in it, cant handle 1/2 power for to long and they still sound great crank to full tilt. the X-overs are great, and tweets have 5 or 6 different cut off points to custom tune to your liking. they might be a little more than your budget, but only by $100 or so, if you look around enough. Ive seen 299 a set.

tryin to catch me ridin dirty.
I don't care for the police.... let that be known. I was once pulled over for a license plate that was crooked...? WTF? I sure as sh*t would let some dog search my car, and would deffinatley fight that chit . & make them pay for the cleaning...WTF?????? profiling is one thing... but if you f*ck up my car...ur paying 4 it!!! dude, get a badge #, and name next time.... if your any bit concerned... Asking that will make them think twice... just try...man.

Pics**18"BTL/KX2500-no56k**
really.... then, why upgrade the pos. to gold?..... copper>Gold>Platinum.... Right?
-
New explorer.... need help.
depends on the install... if room, sub & port back is ok. most now, do sub & port up.... as stated by johnecon. go to Reaudio.com box calculator, and plug & play.... depending on the batt., 2 solid models, and a 130A alt. should be ok. I'd like to see more like 200A alt., just IMO.
-
Pics**18"BTL/KX2500-no56k**
looking good.... but IMO, you should upgrade your neg. terminal to gold plated as well... and maybe the wires too( finish-big 3)... ground is just as/ if not more important than power.

hmmmm....did someone say DP's?
very nice...DP's are the Poo! UPS, seems to be having a growing hater list... count me in...

load boss alternators....?
cool.. load boss is a go then... so should I drop the $ for a full ground run or not then...?

Soundstream XXX
SS xxx are great subs... but in my limited opinion... I think they would need more than a orion2500d each to really shine. But it would sure work.... not to mention they are kinda spendy... but If you can get em ... by all means go for it. with 2 orion2500's I'd be looking at.... Fi audio... BTL's or BL's a best buy for the $ ...kinda sub. dont know if that helps much.... what are your goals....? how much room are you working with...? might help a little more.

MB Quart QSD...
o.k. got it. nothing wrong with mid, screams... so I took the input signal from amp, and turned volume way down, and put it straight to tweeter... it worked just fine... so I have a loose connection somewhere...
-
MB Quart QSD...
i'm pretty certain its the x-over... and yeah the light/fuse has oxidation on it.... I'll clean it up, and see what that does.
-
MB Quart QSD...
MB Quart QSD 216's 6.5" mid, titanium tweet Orion 8004 amp alpine 9855... I think, couple year old competition deck Jeep 98 cherokee. X-over's are in the doors, probably the problem... moisture or something... gonna relocate them... tried different tweet cut off points, as they give you 5 but still sounded the same.
-
MB Quart QSD...
So I noticed that my right front stage seemed to be lacking lately. did a close examination... switched the left and right outputs on the amp to see if it might be the amp... but to no avail. the mid works o.k. about 1/2 output I'd say... but the tweet is really seems lacking... did my X-over take a dump? the little light/fuse seems in tack. heat mang. thing... IDK...

load boss alternators....?
Or, just do both...? wouldn't hurt I suppose.... yeah, loadboss is altstart.... there damn good deal, and carry a lifetime warr. I guess I'll just try and be a test subject. can't find anything bad on 'em.

where to find decent 1/0 inline fuse holder
ebay... Knukonceptz.com

load boss alternators....?
So, looking to get some thing ordered. gonna run an Orion 2500d, and I'm thinking that Load Boss might cut it. Its rated at 220A, and 110 @ idle. but I have heard people testing the 220's @ 238A. would that be sufficient for the orion or would I need more... cause those Iraggi's are like 3X more.... another funny thing... from the manf. quotes... LB, 110A @ 800rpm, 220A @ 1600rpm built, Denso, 70A @ 800rpm, 165A @ 1600rpm......? huh.... its a 280A btw. also, thinking about running a 1/0 knuconcept collosus, Pos. & Neg. from front batt. to amp/back batt.(or/and batcap). Is this worthwhile? I imagine its a much better ground.

you guys convinced me
